If this were to happen in the United States, it would be widely denounced as “Islamophobia,” and probably will be in France as well. But that sidesteps the key question: are these mosques preaching violence and jihad against Infidels, or not? If they are, why should Infidels allow open sedition in their own countries?
“France Shuts Down Mosques and Schools Linked to Islamism in 15 Neighbourhoods,” by Chris Tomlinson, Breitbart, November 17, 2019 (thanks to Robert):
The French government has shut down mosques, schools, and associations linked to the spread of Islamist ideology in fifteen neighbourhoods across the country.
French Secretary of State for the Interior Laurent Nuñez announced the closure of 130 drinking establishments, 12 places of worship, three schools, and nine associations linked to radical Islamism on Friday, Le Parisien reports.
“We fight against political Islamism that suggests that the law of God is superior to that of the Republic,” he told French media. He added that in his view political Islamism should not be conflated with the religion of Islam more generally.
While Nuñez noted that the closures occurred in fifteen different neighbourhoods, he did not identify which specific neighbourhoods were affected by the closures. The closures come as part of the National Plan for the Prevention of Radicalization (PNPR).
Earlier this yea# rin April, French president Emmanuel Macron promised to tackle the issue of political Islam in the second part of his five-year term, saying, “Secularism is the possibility of believing in God or not believing in Him… of never imposing on society a religion or detracting from rules of the Republic to do this.”
“When we talk about secularism, we do not really speak of secularism, we talk about the communitarianism that has settled in some quarters, of a political Islam that wants to secede from our Republic,” he added….

A bit of sanity and rational thinking, followed by action. Wonder if they will stay closed.

What happens when a city destroys 12 rats’ nests, but do nothing to the rats ?

Id much rather live with rats—as every human does—than with Muslims. Rats keep to themselves unless and until cornered and threatened. They dont care who or what, if anything, we choose to worship or how we organise our society. And they are much more tolerable parasites than jizya-levying Muslims.

Islam is a complete religio-political system. The French are trying to ignore this by making a false distinction between ‘political Islam’ and some sort of private, devotional ‘ordinary Islam’. But no such distinction exists.
As well as shutting down existing mosques, the French should prioritise stopping the immigration of Muslims into the country.
Otherwise, it is like a farmer who orders sackfuls of locusts, releases them into his fields and then complains that his crops have been eaten up.

To be correct: “Political islamism” – (for which read “islam”) – demands that the law of the invented “Allah” – (for which read “the outlaw Mohammed and his mates”) – is made superior to that of the Republic.”

Abaham Kuyper once observed that in France, freedom of religion was the freedom of the Christian minority to agree with the Positivist (Kuyper wrongly called it “atheist”) majority. The same thing is happening in the USA faster than we can say “Clinton 2016).
If a mindset similar to that in official France took hold in the USA, we’d see high-minded folks shutting down churches that preach against abortion and homosexuality; while jihad-linked mosques would see their imams the featured speakers of “interfaith coalitions” and such nonsense.
As for the law of God and the law of the state, the mounting futility of US policies may well be an illustration of how such things work. The mills of God grind slowly, but grind extremely fine.

I’m still trying to figure out the difference between Islam and Islamism. I guess it’s like the difference between the calm and rational Muhammad and his overly enthusiastic and rabidly devoted followers. Muhammad (Islam) might say something like, “Ho hum, who will rid me of these insulting poets?” And the devoted followers (the Islamists) might say, “Oh, we will. We will. But may we please also tell a lie or kill a child to do it?”
Yeah, I can see the difference. Islam is much less dangerous than Islamism.

They still don’t get it – All Islam is political and does not want to integrate into any Republic of unbelievers.
It is good to see that France has begun the game of Whack-A-Mole with Jihadi oriented mosques and groups; not realizing, however, that it is a never-ending game fueled by Islam’s Quran, Sunna, and Imams. At least, there is an awakening.

We have 18 USC, Ch 115 laws which deal with treason, sedition and subversion. Why aren’t they being implemented with mosques and MB front groups such as CAIR?
underbed cat says
Good question, if the laws are on the books for sedition, subversion, and treason, we now know why suppressing freedom of speech about Islam, starting with “hate speech laws” repressing information about sharia slander laws, was so important to the future of Islam, and would impede the leaders/ Imams with the goal of conquest. In my opinion since mosques are dispensing Qurans and teaching the sura’s that is exactly the information they needed to omitt to separate itself from terrorism and only speak with meccan verses that actually have been abrogated.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I seem to recall a report of the French authorities closing down about 106 mosques across the country some years ago following the discovery of weapons or other such ‘un-religious’ artefacts in them. There was no mention as to whether or not the closures were permanent. I wonder how many more mosques or ‘islamic cultural centres’ have been closed in the interim?

I can find articles about France closing a number of mosques every year since 2015–but most reports just list a handful. I do hope it has been more.

@gravenimage,
Bonsoir,
I’m having issues on this website.
The population has difficulties to accept the ‘no-go’ zones (territoires perdues de la république). “I will take strong actions to tackle this issue” E Macron (and M Le Pen) said. They know we are very traditionalist and they said they will not give up on the law in secular life. The authors of that law blessed by the Church, drew inspiration from The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen of 26 August 1789, Catholicism and the enlightenment philosophies.
It is clear we do not want the country partitioned.
Europe and USA have similar challenges when it comes to the ability to live together and the fact USA is made of states that do not always agree amongst themselves is another critical point.

France has 5 million Muslims and with that, about 10,000 – 20,000 jihadists. The way to remove jihad is to remove the belief in jihadism. The quickest way to remove jihadism is to prove that the Koran and hadiths are purely of human origin.
Muslims who realize that Koran is all man-made will typically drop out of Islam right away.
gravenimage says
Mortimer, Jihadism is a core part of Islam.
As for pious Muslims believing anything the ‘filthy Infidels’ have to say about the Qur’an and Hadiths, good luck with that.

The default position should be that a mosque is preaching Islamic jihad – unless proven otherwise.
And all of those mosques should be closed – permanently.

A report out several years ago in the U.S., stated that nearly 90% of the barracks, enclaves for war, had literature and preachers that advocated violent jihad. That number probably has not dropped since the report.

Good posts above, especially from Cogito Ergo Sum and Westman. My preferred usage is to type Islam, followed by quotation marks around the suffix ism. I cant do this here due to hardware/software limitations. I do this because Im certainly not convinced that they are different things. My best understanding is that what we call Islamism is that portion of the doctrines of Islam that asserts that Islam must supersede all other ethical, social or political systems. Then again, Im not persuaded that there is such a thing as Islam without the parts that call for imposing the din of Islam on all members of all human societies. It wouldnt be Islam, or it would be an incomplete form of Islam, without the suras and sayings that command its believers to impose their way of life on every living human. When the Prophet and his followers decided that the tolerant verses were abrogated by the many later verses that call for the forced imposition of Islam in place of any other social ethical political or religious sys tems, he and/or they made this inextricably part of Islam. Islam’s “rulebook” is Reliance of the Traveller.
There is no mention of Islamism in it.

The writer of that book saw no distinction between Islam and Islam quote ism unquote. Islamism is a modern word for a modern advocacy tool that allows Muslims and their apologists to claim that only some Musims are bound by their scriptures explicit demands. Transparent taqiyya, tawriyah, kitman. You will however find murder enslavement and rape in that rulebook and other authoritative Muslim books..

One step forward, one step sideways. It’s nice to know that ”sane” muslims can be responsible for spreading ”radical” (fundamental) Islam. Something called the PNPR now exists. How long before the Left, if not muslims themselves, infiltrates it and the cycle continues?
