“Yes to criticism of religion, no to hatred of believers.”
That’s great, except in practice those who dare to criticize the religion, that is, to stand against jihad mass murder and Sharia oppression of women and others, are vilified and ostracized as “Islamophobes” and falsely accused of hatred of believers. There aren’t really any people who criticize Islam, even if they speak only about jihad violence, who are acceptable to contemporary Leftists and their establishment conservative lapdogs.
Also, many in this march denounced “racism.” Once again, Islam is not a race. This woolly thinking will be the death of us. Quite literally.
“Thousands march against Islamophobia in Paris,” France 24, November 10, 2019:
Thousands gathered Sunday afternoon in Paris for a march against Islamophobia that has markedly divided the French political class in recent days.
“Yes to criticism of religion, no to hatred of believers”, “Stop Islamophobia” and “Co-existing is crucial,” read some of the signs held aloft at the demonstration, as marchers set off from the Gare du Nord train station in the French capital on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
“Solidarity with veiled women”, some in the crowd chanted.
French media on Sunday evening estimated the number of participants in Paris at around 13,500.
The rally – held at the initiative of a number of left-wing political organisations including the New Anticapitalist Party and groups including the Collective Against Islamophobia in France – was called for by the left-leaning daily Libération in an editorial on November 1, four days after a man attacked a mosque in Bayonne and amid the flare of renewed debate over Muslim women wearing the veil in public establishments like schools.
But the march drew criticism from the far-right National Rally party (formerly the National Front), which accused organisers of forming an alliance with “Islamists”. It also spurred divisions among political parties on the left.
Some critics questioned “the very definition” of Islamophobia, said FRANCE 24’s Alison Sargent, reporting from the march in central Paris. Some say “that they feel ‘Islamophobia’ means that you are not allowed to criticise Islam as a religion”.
“They feel that is anti-French, that the very meaning of being French is being able to criticise religion, and that that is at the heart of French secularism,” she said.
But at the rally in Paris, many marchers insisted that Islam and French secularism are indeed compatible. “We’ve also seen a lot of French flags here, so it’s quite a patriotic rally in its own way,” Sargent said….

Somewhat disagree, because ‘Islamophobia’ is the ‘joker’ card which can be used to mean anything at all. The way it is used is to say: ‘No criticism of Islam is permitted’, so it is in effect a secular way of imposing Sharia blasphemy law.
These gullible Leftards are playing a duplicitous game … and perhaps they think they are being clever.
Do MUSLIMS agree that ‘CRITICISM OF THE ISLAMIC RELIGION’ is OK ??? I don’t think so.
The Leftards have not identified exactly what criticisms of Islam THEY have in mind when they say ‘Criticism of religion’.
Don’t the Leftards realize that criticism of Islam GETS YOU KILLED in Muslim-majority countries??? Blasphemy against Islam brings a DEATH SENTENCE.
Did the LEFTARDS check first to see if MUSLIMS agree that ‘CRITICISM OF THE ISLAMIC RELIGION’ is OK ???
The Leftards did NOT check this out with Muslims.

Totally correct. An evil deflection mechanism, designed to stifle all legitimate criticism of radical islamists, being used for exactly that by the extreme radical islamists.

I fear Islam because of its essential nature, a militant, colonizing theocracy based on Medieval primitivism. Islam is the dark side of our dual, animal-human nature, their flag the moon and cleaver. It is the jealous knock-off of Christianity, the light of the world, with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the lamb of god, the last blood offering to the punitive, irritable god of the Old Testament. Christ consciousness is the spirit of the human family, the divine beauty of women, god’s gift to men to love and protect. Islam is infinitely evil, carrying forward prehistoric darkness from before the dawn of human consciousness into the world civilized only by gospel of Jesus Christ.
Emilie Green says
Go on, ask any Muslim to give an example of allowable criticism of Islam.
You’ll come up with a null set.

From Sharia manual Reliance of the Traveller’:
“The (DHIMMI) agreement is also violated (A: with respect to the offender alone) if the state has stipulated that any of the following things break it, and one of the subjects does so anyway, though if the state has not stipulated that these break the agreement, then they do not; namely, if one of the subject people:
-5- MENTIONS something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam.” – Reliance of the Traveller’ Chapter ‘O’ 11.10.05.
Sharia permits anyone to kill those who VERBALLY oppose Islam, since they are verbally at war with Islam:
“There is no indemnity obligatory for killing a non-Muslim (harbi) at war with Muslims.” -Reliance of the Traveller, o4.17, p.593
Islam authorizes the murder of anyone who criticizes Islam.
That is what Muslims mean when they say ‘Islamophobia’ … they mean simply ‘any criticism of Islam’.
James says
One should not criticize good religion, but one can criticize evil religious practices. And one can limit immigration for good religious believers and institutions, even though they are not evil, simply because they provide the foundation that evil religious fighters build on. They are the forest in which the evil-doers hide.

Every ideology should be open to valid criticism regardless of who thinks it is “good” or “bad”. Believers are free to reject or refuse to listen to such criticism, but no one has the right to forbid questioning of a set of ideas.

We know where all of this is leading. And things are ramping up on all fronts. There was something passed today at the Supreme Court about the 2nd amendment. One in a long list of dominoes. Things are escalating. Sooooo glad I don’t have kids in this evil world to worry about, and at that age where I won’t be getting any either. I would just have brought them in to enjoy the apocalypse and related events. I had just enough time to enjoy the good things while one still could. Even travel now is not safe. But I talked about all of this before and yes… I’m rambling but just being real too.

“Can one rake fire into his bosom and his clothes not get burned (Proverbs 6:27)?” This verse was not written about bringing moslims in to one’s house or community, but the question fits.
It is not possible to live friendly and peacefully and comfortably with those who seek every opportunity to murder those with whom they disagree.
And since moslims don’t consider any other faith as a “religion,” they are not thinking about Christianity, or Christians or Jews, or any other people, not being “hated.” moslims hate others…all others…and this isn’t going to change because they say these things at a rally.
Michael Copeland says
“No to hatred of believers”?

What about fighting people because of their religion? Is that okay — because that is what Allah really wants. See Koran 9:29. Don’t criticize a person for their religion; fight them. Fighting is good but, yeah, hate is bad. That just makes sense doesn’t it because once you have beaten a person into submission there’s really no need to hate him. Hate – bad, fighting – good. Yes, fighting a person is really not about hate at all. It’s really about love and peace. Right? Well, isn’t it? Or do you want to fight about it?
Jason says
“Co-existing is crucial”
Like so many ideas in Western culture, this has become an immutable idea that we are expected to subscribe to no matter what.
But does anyone ask “is co-existence possible?” Of course not. That would be “racist”.

This demonstrates the idiocy of the term “Islamophobia” and the clever manipulations of those who wield it. If criticizing a religious ideology is legitimate, why should it be characterized as a “phobia”? Muslims-in-name-only who evade the violent teachings of their “faith” and refrain from taking jihad-supporting action such as attempting to corrupt our constitutional system or engage in violence are merely worthy of contempt — as are these fools chanting “solidarity with veiled women!”. But why is it wrong to hate a “believer” who agrees that their “faith” instructs them to enslave or kill you? One might not want to expend the emotional energy unless the deluded one openly advocates or engages in violent action — but it is normal to loathe anyone who attempts to destroy one’s life for his own gain, be it earthly riches or renewable sky-virgins.
Mortimer is right — this is an underhanded, manipulative manner of imposing de facto Sharia prohibition of “blasphemy” — a victimless crime!

There won’t be any Islamophobia if Muslims stop their massacres of innocent people, cutting off heads, attacking people with knives (f.ex. in Germany several cases every day), if they stop raping women and girls, if they respect our civilisation, our traditions.
How about a march against Christianophobia? An average of 3 churches and cemeteries are attacked every day in France whereas this march was called as a result of one attack of a mosque in Bayonne – a very rare event! Sign up to the daily Observatoire de la Christianophobie.
