Of course! The ever-trusty “out of context” defense! He really meant that he hoped Allah would shower the casino with blessings.
In reality, this was a real threat, even though he said he would ask Allah to destroy the casino; he didn’t say he would do it himself. The Qur’an, however, says “Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands” (Qur’an 9:14): Muslims are the executors of Allah’s wrath. Could that have been what Muadinov had in mind? Investigators are likely too clueless even to try to find out.
“Illinois Casino Bomb Scare Suspect Was ‘Misunderstood’: Defense Lawyer,” by Philip Conneller, Casino.org, November 6, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Chicago man Mustadin Muadinov, 30, was detained by police on February 12 at the floating casino on the Fox River and charged with felony disorderly conduct.
According to the arrest report, he entered the casino at around 1:30 p.m., where he had an altercation with staff.
He reportedly told casino officials he had a “gift” for Donald Trump and if he were not taken to meet the US President he would ask Allah to “take over and destroy” the casino.
As the trial got underway Tuesday, prosecutors told the court that Muadinov had been “scoping out” the casino the previous day and had asked about the location of emergency exits, according to The Daily Herald. He had also complained about the cocktail waitresses’ outfits….
The defendant was intentionally nonspecific when he conveyed the message. The defendant transmitted the threat through words and actions,” said Assistant State’s Attorney Joe Cullen, as reported by The Herald. “He continued to make these inflammatory statements.”
Cullen also noted Muadinov was smiling as he was handcuffed by police officers.
Seeking WarmthBut defense attorney said Muadinov was separated from his wife and family and was essentially homeless, living in his box truck. He had entered the casino to seek warmth, she claimed, and had been shocked by what he saw.
The “gift” he wanted to deliver to Donald Trump was the message from Allah that gambling was a sin, she said. On his arrest, he told police he had no desire to hurt anyone.
Muadinov’s first language is Turkish and he is not a fluent English speaker…
Cullen said the case would come down to “context” and perception — whether Muadinov was a genuine threat whose actions were malicious, or merely a confused and anxious man who was facing a language barrier while struggling to make sense of cultural differences.
It’s unclear whether a psychiatric report has been conducted.
Oh, well, that’s all-important.

Yeah, he will pray to his god to destroy the casino if he cannot speak to President Trump. Just what would he tell President Trump if he were to meet him? Destroy the casino?
Okay, maybe that is where the whole misunderstanding lies. The actual message is that it won’t have to be destroyed if ….. it’s turned into a mosque. You see. That way nobody hat to get hurt.

Illinois: Muslim who asked Allah to “take over and destroy” casino was “misunderstood”

Uh…right. He meant he wanted everyone at the casino to have a nice day…sarc/off

I’m sure he saw a casino being used as a casino–I doubt there is anything particularly wicked about the Fox River casino. Any other homeless person would just get warm, clean up in the restroom, and maybe try and finagle a nice hot cup of coffee–but not this pious Muslim. Instead, he called for the destruction of the place unwittingly letting him get in out of the chill.
And what would he have done if he was actually able to meet the president? Since Donald Trump himself has run hotels and casinos, I doubt his idea was to tell him that there was gambling and drinking going on. My guess is that he would have tried to do “Allah’s work”, and not in a friendly way…

Gambling is a choice for consenting adults; being 9 years and old and having to marry a considerably older man is not consent. Hypocrites.

Gambling is a bad choice for anyone and praying to the god of Muslims, called allah, for anything, is useless, because as ayone with a speck of understanding knows that allah does not exist. allah was and is just a figment of muhammad’s. A lot of people do have problems with gambling, but many do gamble responsibly.
Whatever its problems, though, gambling is in no way as destructive as is Islam.

So he went into a casino and was shocked at what he saw. Was he transported to Illinois in a container and shipped directly to the basement of a mosque. Did he never watch American TV? Did he never look out the window or walk down the street? How could the activities of a casino possibly shock him? *$/?&**( defense lawyers. Do judges ever discipline these concocters of fairy tales?
