Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Maldives: Government shuts down human rights group for “slandering Islam”

Nov 7, 2019 12:00 pm By Robert Spencer

Has Amnesty International spoken out against the stigmatizing, demonizing, and deplatforming of critics of jihad terror and Sharia oppression of women in the West, or only in the Maldives? What do you think? And why the inconsistency? Because in the West, Islamocritics are defamed as “right-wing,” and hence worthy of no consideration.

Remember also: in Islamic law, it is considered a good thing to conceal the faults of a fellow Muslim, as Muhammad said: “The servant (who conceals) the faults of others in this world, Allah would conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection” (Sahih Muslim 32.6267). The ordinary understanding of slander in the West is that it involves making false charges that defame another person. But in Islamic law, the definition of slander doesn’t involve falsehood. The Shafi’i manual of Islamic law ‘Umdat al-Salik defines “slander” as “to mention anything concerning a person that he would dislike.” Nothing is said about whether or not what is said is true — only that the person would dislike it. And as the Qur’an warns, “Woe unto every slandering traducer” (104:1).

“Maldives: Human rights group shut down for ‘slandering Islam,’” Amnesty International UK, November 5, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

The Maldivian Government’s closure of a widely-respected human rights group for “slandering Islam” has been strongly condemned by Amnesty International.

The organisation was shut down earlier today by the Maldivian Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, which regulates the activities of NGOs in the country.

On 10 October, the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced it had temporarily suspended Maldives Democracy Network’s operations, alleging that the content of a 2015 report by the NGO contained “content slandering Islam and the Prophet Mohamed”.

The closure comes after a series of threats by religious hardliners against Maldives Democracy Network staff, including its director Shahinda Ismail.

Dinushika Dissanayake, Amnesty International’s South Asia Research Director, said: “The Maldives Democracy Network is being punished for exercising its legitimate right to freedom of expression….

So true. In fact, covering up Muslim’s faults is considered a virtue in Islam.

First of all Slander is not what Muslims say it is. This is the real problem, and if they don’t like how we use the real world meanings then it would be better for them if they go back to whateve country that practices false meanings to the rest of the world.

    slander
    n. oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another, which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed. Slander is a civil wrong (tort) and can be the basis for a lawsuit. Damages (payoff for worth) for slander may be limited to actual (special) damages unless there is malicious intent, since such damages are usually difficult to specify and harder to prove. Some statements, such as an untrue accusation of having committed a crime, having a loathsome disease or being unable to perform one’s occupation, are treated as slander per se since the harm and malice are obvious and therefore usually result in general and even punitive damage recovery by the person harmed. Words spoken over the air on television or radio are treated as libel (written defamation) and not slander on the theory that broadcasting reaches a large audience as much as if not more than printed publications.

Okay the Muslim term of slander is their truth not our FACTS. truths can be anything the statement of the stater says it is, but would not be facts. Facts can be truth, but truth can not be facts.

spread this to all the arguments about Islam, as Islam always quote their Islamic truths, but are not the facts. The Quran states that deception is always to be done to Infidels and Kuffar. This is the commands of Muhammad the great liar and deceiver. The Quran states this as a FACT.

True–“Ghiba” is not slander in the true sense, but just anything Muslims do not want to see made public.

And why are foolish Infidel tourists flocking to the Maldives?

It is beautiful but warped by Islam:

You are right, it’s still very popular with Europeans because of its natural beauty. The only problem with boycotting it is the effect it would have on tourism; its economy relies on it. But unfortunately no one is more vulnerable than the poorly paid, exploited workers in hotels and resorts, and in shops and restaurants.

As with all Muslim and African governments (who don’t care in the slightest about their own people) those in power are rich through corruption and diverting money from those who need it, and so would barely be affected by a boycott. It’s a tough call, as the instinct is definitely not to go there and help prop up this twisted regime.

No Infidel should be supporting the economies of Muslim countries, Mike. Why should we fund this barbarism?

Saddest story of Islam is there no God, But stone and 🌒 moon or there God’s.
Still they are comforting themselves with this ideology of this. Fooling around the minds.

      In islam:

“there is no god but muhammed and “allah” is merely his sock puppet”

islam is ultimately the cult of muhammed.

      Draw a cartoon of “allah”{with his one leg and his two right hands}
      NOBODY CARES

      Draw a cartoon of muhammed
      Look what happens!

So muhammed is ABOVE allah, muhammed is above GOD in islam!

      Thank God i’m an infidel….
