This is a global war in which essentially the entire world has decided that honest analysis of its motivating ideology is wrong, and must never be done, on pain of demonization, ostracism, deplatforming, and worse. Is that any way to win a war? Of course not.
“Militants kill 54 in attack on Mali army post, ISIS claims responsibility,” Reuters, November 3, 2019:
BAMAKO, Mali — At least 53 soldiers and one civilian have been killed in an attack on an army post in northern Mali, the government said, in one of the deadliest strikes against the West African country’s military in recent memory.
Islamic state claimed responsibility for the attack via its Amaq news agency on Saturday, without providing evidence.
The militant group has posted dozens of claims of responsibility for attacks in several countries since U.S. special forces killed its previous leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi last weekend.
The authorities first reported the attack in Indelimane, Menaka region, on Friday, but gave a lower provisional death toll.
“Heavily armed unidentified men attacked around noon. The attack started with shellfire … Then they retreated toward Niger,” government spokesman Yaya Sangare told Reuters on Saturday….

Why are Muslims attacking anything at all in Mali? How Muslim does a group of people have to be before they can rest assured that no one will accuse them of heresy, much less kill them. The World is telling Islamists, “Leave us alone!”. They are saying “kill us first then we can talk, you filthy Islamophobe”.
But why Mali? Can’t the 99% of Muslims who live there figure out how to get along with each other?

Hatred and violence are central to Islam.
Maybe there weren’t any infidels handy for slaying, so these bloodthirsty jihadis convinced themselves that their victims weren’t quite pious enough.
Whatever the reason, the global Muslim community was just reduced by 54. I won’t be losing any sleep over it.

I liked the above quoted part, Robert. It’s one of the clearest and most concise phrases that I have seen so far to summarize the state of affairs regarding the world’s response vis a vis this evil ideology called Islam.
Apart from us, here on this site, and the few who get the message, is there any one listening?

Mali is 95% Muslim, but that still ain’t Islamic enough for the truly pious Jihadists.

Reuters really wants you to forget that Baghdadi killed himself and his three children.

Grimly true.

WWII Allies won the ideological war against fascism, because all the Allies agreed on it. Slavery and arbitrary justice is wrong.
Those two evils are part of Islam as much as they are part of Nazism, so why can’t the world agree that ISLAM IS WRONG, since it shares many of the methods used by Nazism: slavery, hatred of the ‘other’, supremacism and Jew hatred???
The game of pretending the emperor is clothed should finally stop … Arab oil is not the only oil … nor should we continue to buy it from them.
It is possible to convince Muslims that Islam is false if they can see that the Koran is a man-made book.

Actually, Mortimer, it took a long time for the West to agree that Fascism was wrong. There is a *lot* of apologia for Fascism pre-WWII. Many thought it was benign, and it was even extolled as being “modern” in some quarters.
