Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Muslim migrant from Iran, a University of Michigan visiting scholar, stole and sent confidential tech data to Iran

Nov 13, 2019 5:00 pm By Robert Spencer

“Amin Hasanzadeh, an Iranian military vet…”

All right. So Amin Hasanzadeh is a veteran of the military of the regime that forces its people to scream “Death to America” in mosques every Friday. When he first attempted to enter the United States, was any effort made to determine his loyalties or perspective? Almost certainly not. To have done so would have been “Islamophobic.”

Hasanzadeh “is a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan.”

Did the University of Michigan make any effort to determine whether or not he was an agent acting on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran? Again, almost certainly not, and for the same reason. Also: would the University of Michigan ever hire as a visiting scholar someone who publicly opposed jihad mass murder and the Sharia oppression of women? Of course not.

“FBI: Michigan engineer sent confidential tech data to Iran,” by Sydney Dennen, Jerusalem Post, November 12, 2019 (thanks to the Geller Report):

A Michigan man is now in FBI custody after being accused of stealing and sending confidential tech information to his brother who has contacts with Iran’s nuclear weapon industry.

Amin Hasanzadeh, an Iranian military vet, is a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan and hardware engineer. He made his first court appearance on Wednesday on charges of fraud – he did not disclose that he had been in the Iranian military – and “interstate transportation of stolen property,” according to NPR….

According to Eric Brewer, deputy director and fellow with the Project on Nuclear Issues at the Center for Strategic & International Studies, this case is part of a broader Iranian effort to try and steal trade secrets and technology that have to do with the military and defense systems.

“Iran certainly does have as a goal improving its military capabilities and uses espionage as a means at its disposal to acquire information and technology it would have a hard time developing indigenously,” Brewer said.

“Certainly we don’t want Iran stealing sensitive info from U.S. companies but this does not strike me as something that could lead to a revolutionary new military capability on Iran’s part,” Brewer added. “It is not usually the case where one type of technology or bit of information is so revolutionary that it changes the trajectory of a program.”…

The FBI complaint accused the Iranian national of stealing confidential information and technical data from an unidentified company January 2015 through June 2016….

“A senior company official advised that any unauthorized disclosure or theft of partner company documents and information protected under an NDA could be ‘catastrophic,'” the FBI counterintelligence agent in charge of the case wrote in an affidavit filed in federal court.

According to court documents, Hasanzadeh began sending his brother unauthorized emails containing the confidential information just six days after beginning the new job….

Agree with lisa. The message that institutions should draw from this is: DON’T HIRE MUSLIMS … too much trouble.

What other message is there? Oh, yeah … Muslim roulette. You never know when the jihadist will go off.

The U.S. and for that matter, all of the WEST, is just about as stupid as dirt when it comes to the muslim plan for conquest….The history is there and so is what’s happening NOW. Its all there as plain as bright sunshine but those who have the real responsibility to do something about it are just turning a blind eye..
It’s great that this guy was caught ….but if ….those responsible had done their job after 9/11
Much of what we HEAR about would never have happened and another bad things is that we don’t HEAR about it through today’s mediating only through places like jihad watch..

I agree Wellington…..but more so national security…..If we developed technical data regarding nuclear weapons/ a math equation, hign tech surviellance and a student, most likely many students from competing sharia counties but especially Iran, since they are racing to get these weapons and chant for our death every Friday plus have easy access to travel with student visa’s readily available ( a big red flag) then it is a fantasy world out there and I am paranoid. Or just because the students are revered for intelligence, they are not a concern…or desiring to be the hero genius or complete a goal to destroy America….it is insane to think none would be concerned unless the wrong people run these programs. Just saying. Maybe we should tighten these controls.

He is quite well published – the only thing that good universities are interested in. The fact that Iran and China help their guys to get these positions at top universities in the US is well known. Carnegie Mellon has over 50% Chinese students.

  7. Donovan Nuera says

    Nov 13, 2019 at 7:40 pm

But then you have squishes like Hahvahd President Bacow who sends amicus briefs and op-eds to the government to make sure that their students (like the Lebanese Syrian muslim who was fortunately held up at Logan Airport by the TSA for 6 hours of questioning and put back on a plane home as his friend’s social media posts were anti-American) get free passage through TSA and BP from Iran and Pakistan. (these same “scholars” all seem to take elite spots that should have gone to AMERICAN students whose parents are US taxpayers!!)

  8. Donovan Nuera says

    Nov 13, 2019 at 7:43 pm

With this case of Iranian “Scholar” Hasanzadeh, I wish that Trump or Cuccinelli highlights for the press and college students why we imposed the travel ban. Along with the fact that 75% of arrested terrorists on our soil were foreign-born jihadis. 74 were from the banned countries.

    • James C. says

      Nov 14, 2019 at 9:26 am

Because it would be “Islamophobic”, “racist”, “imperialist”, not to be. Countries that waste time worrying about being called bad names are destroying their own self-confidence, undermining themselves, and making themselves the prey of those who seek their destruction.

Such countries are confusing altruism with self-hatred.

Just do the right thing, and ignore that garbage.

So everything is OK then? Does it matter if a spy has an understanding if the plans he has are for a faster centrifuge or how to make a Popsicle stick? The intent to harm is there.
