“Attacker threatens teen girl with knife, ‘yells Allahu Akbar’ INSIDE police station on Reunion Island,” RT, November 2, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A man armed with a knife threatened a 16-year-old girl in the hallway of a police station on Reunion Island, a French overseas department in the Indian Ocean. The attacker also shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’, according to local reports.
Police managed to disarm the man and arrested him at the scene. Fortunately, the teenager was not injured by the attacker, but was reportedly taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
The attacker is aged in his 20s and was known to police, BFMTV reports, though it’s not clear what his motives were for Saturday’s incident. Initial enquiries haven’t found any link between him and the young victim….

An UNREGISTERED, UNLICENSED, UNINSURED WEAPON. But “licensed, registered, insured” motor vehicles kill about 40,000 human beings in the US and injure more or less half a million each year. Lot of good registration does to “control” the harm. It’s not the device; it is who is using it that makes the difference.

Kevin, I am very sorry to suggest that free speech dies in totalitarian governments. You may be witnessing first hand what others have been through for years and centuries. There are many more than muslims who would punish any comments that do not praise them. Look at history.
I had a most interesting discussion with a friend a couple of days ago. He has been a member of a religious community all his life. The community is changing, as did the one I was part of, to the level that he no longer feels safe or welcome. Patrick McGoohan, star of the Secret Agent series in the early 1960’s, made a 17 episode series titled Prisoner between the end of the Secret Agent production and his coming to the US to film Ice Station Zebra,
Prisoner is now available on Tubi, Roku and Pluto streaming channels, It always opens with the biggest questions of a thinking person’s life: Where am I? What do you want? Whose side are you on? Who are you? Who is Number One? The series illustrates Abe Maslow’s process of individuation, where a person progresses through life learning and understanding his position as part of a community, and when it is time to recognize the community no longer serves his interest. Ultimately we have a choice to trap ourselves in the control of communities that consider us worthless, or to break free and look for better and mutually beneficial friendships. Consider the thousands of people who died and risked death to escape Communism in Germany, China, North Korea and Cuba just for example.
I told you about my uncle’s appraisal of my questions about religion: He said truthfully they are the most important questions I will ever ask in this life. An inseparable issue within those questions is what value do I place on the Gift from God of Life and Freedom? If you are seeing early signs of censorship instead of some momentary technical problem, the lesson from the Holocaust should come to mind. Half of Germany’s Jews lived in denial that anything was wrong until it was too late to escape, if any opportunity was available. The other half at least tried to get out while they could.
I don’t care how beautiful, normal, comfortable. . . a place may be; it is nothing to a dead man. I have tried dead for about 2 hours during surgery. Life is better. I have lived under the tyranny of corruption. Freedom is better. I wish you well. Frank

@Frank Anderson,
Hi,
It is not easy to change brainwashed persons, it is like taking our head and running into a brick wall, these brainwashed people are the useful idiots of the totalitarian systems. My brother who works on computer said the remote server that refuses to perform the request is American and I agree with you: that refusal is an outrage to free speech.
For centuries we lived under a totalitarian rule, the kings and the the Church were all-powerful, we remember the inquisition and the (Frankish) wheel, and the memory of the Nazi occupation is still raw. We do not want to see that happen again.
That is why the debate on hate speech and islamophobia is not without its detractors. The far-left leader Mélenchon said he doesn’t understand the meaning of the word islamophobia.
A demonstration against islamophobia is announced on 10 November. It is organized, among others, by the CCIF (The Collectif Against Islamophobia) suspected to be in touch with the Muslim brotherhood. Because of this, the organizers are not unanimously supported by political left and even less by political right.
Sometimes I believe we have a phobic fear of totalitarianism and I do not see how the political Islam can be accepted by French that once sang it’ll be fine, it’ll be fine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9VoRmjxvPs. At that time religious were suspected of conniving with absolutism, and in fact many revolutionaries had come to distrust religious leaders. The king and his family were sacred, so it was easier to blame the aristocracy and the religion.
So Macron cannot compromise on laicism and the government said, if I understood correctly, it will not accept leaders of political religious groups to run for the elections.
This will be interesting to watch.
I do not believe my comment would have been refused by a French server but I can be wrong.
Peace upon you and America,
À bientôt
Frank Anderson says
Kevin, I refuse to vouch in support of any server, US or elsewhere. Too many want to control what not only what we say, but also what we think. You have a much more immediate and personal connection with totalitarian goals than I. I see no room for compromise, we are either free or we are in a concentration camp. Some have less aggressive guards and other have wild. “mad-dog” killers in charge. How much should be accepted? What can be done? Changing them is not going to happen. I suggest a terror of totalitarianism is not phobic, but quite rational considering the danger it poses to everyone.
Think about Hitler killing Ernst Roehm, one of his earliest, most loyal and aggressive supporters when Roehm became inconvenient. No excuse is needed. No rule is allowed. What the leader wants is what is done. I do not recall a spontaneous, internal turn away from totalitarian rule unless it has run the society into the worst collapse, such as Russia and Venezuela. Even in those places, it lingers. To speak against the leadership is a potential death sentence. Good time to keep escape plans fresh and ready.
For better days for all of us. Best wishes.
Frank
Lavéritétriomphera says
@Frank Anderson,
Bonsoir,
+1
A clarification was necessary, and in essence I agree with you.
“I suggest a terror of totalitarianism is not phobic, but quite rational considering the danger it poses to everyone” very true, and through my profession and experience I should be in good position to say that a phobia is an irrational fear. That is why the term islamophobia, that is used in a widest sens, is contested. That is not new as it is clearly demonstrated in this interview between Sam Harris and Ayaan Hirsi Ali on May 2014 http://www.samharris.org/blog/item/lifting-the-veil-of-islamophobia.
“Changing them is not going to happen.”. it’s very difficult to de-program a brainwashed person. In fact the false informations have been “embedded” in the unconscious by force of repetition such as “Islam is the only truth and so on” and often ever since the infancy throughout the whole life. We are now witnessing that sooner or later the system falls apart on all sides.
“I see no room for compromise, we are either free or we are in a concentration camp.”. Today in my own country we would never accept that Macron compromises on French secularism or says it’ll be fine, or “après moi le déluge” after me the flood.
Our quest for liberty cannot be separated from the search for truth. I think that is particularly true for the whole West. The Truth is incompatible with totalitarian systems based on lies and Macron, like I hope others western leaders, knows that. Therefore we all expect to hear his views on French secularism confronted with the Islamic taboos. I believe this speech is ardently desired.
“ Good time to keep escape plans fresh and ready.“ Many ex-Muslims had the same idea but their problems were catching up to them because radical Muslims followed them in their new home. The crisis is global.
For better days,
À bientôt Ami

Kevin, I predict you have heard some form of the proverb, “People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.” I live in a glass house with many ideas that would not survive criticism. I also struggle with the English language, having failed the course in the 11th grade, and had no easy time with passing courses in college. So, recognizing that you speak and write French, and shift to English so I have hope to understand you, it is a good time for me to think about how hard (virtually impossible) for me to write in French. I would have no hope of communicating as well in French as you do in English.
I have read several places that we are able to understand imperfect messages because of the way our minds process them. Appreciating our exchanges for many months, and believing your good intentions, we seem to have a good time passing our thoughts. Please, join me in paying attention and being prepared as you can. We must survive to see what happens next. There are many dirty, evil, corrupt and incompetent people around us who want to destroy everything so they can take control of the rubble. Look at the “great prizes” that all of Europe and Japan represented after WWII, and Europe after WWI. If the totalitarians get control, those will be rich and full of opportunity compared to what the totalitarians will give until total failure. Look at Iran or Turkey today to see the paradises of misery our potential conquerors want to force on us.
Mark Gabriel’s great question on page 52 of his monumental book, The Unfinished Battle, (paraphrased), “If islam is such a great deal, why were 4 million Egyptians killed bringing it to Egypt?” applies to all totalitarians. Easily 200 or 300 million people have been murdered by totalitarians in the 20th century. Islam has killed between 250 and 1000 million people, depending on who is estimating and the regions they consider, in its 1400 years. Yet it was their opponents who did most of the good work, while totalitarians spread ruin. Why were people always fleeing from Communism instead of into it? If it is such a great idea, why is there not massive migration into totalitarian states? Of course some of the migration into the “west” is not to escape, but to conquer.
The best reason I can see at the moment to survive is to be a pain in the lives of the people who want to destroy. There are good people who need our help to see and act while they can.
Peace and best wishes be with you. Frank

@Frank Anderson,
Bonjour,
I do not have the command of written English, but I can translate English into French.
“I live in a glass house with many ideas that would not survive criticism” this argument has been advanced by supporters of totalitarian ideas who want us to abstain from thinking for ourselves. “You feel superior to billions Muslims from the past and living today [because you do not believe in islam]” a Muslim scholar wrote me (no comment).
“I have read several places that we are able to understand imperfect messages because of the way our minds process them” I agree, but the understanding will be imperfect, our souvenirs are imperfect because the memory process is a filter. That is why the Bible, the Qur’an cannot be perfect, they are man-made.
When WW2 broke out, my maternal grandfather said: “war again”, and my mother said: “they cannot win”.
Before she died she said: “Muslims cannot win”, but France is on the frontline once again.
Totalitarian ideologies based on lies have no flexibility, and Nature get ride of what is obsolete. Islam is or will certainly be confronted with an avalanche of apostates https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKv51bBWBj8, and they are the worst detractors of the Islamic ideology.
Psychopathes do not believe in their claptrap, but they ensure the others do.
It is not easy for a prisoner of a system and a Community jargon, to brake the hold on him and to escape from prison, but I agree with you we have to help these people and nothing can be had for nothing.
I will be unavailable for a couple of days but I will be happy to continue our exchanges of views.
I have a great respect for your president,
Peace upon you and USA.
À bientôt

Kevin, you will be missed during your absence. My glass house proverb is usually intended to show that one should practice “Do unto others as you wish they would do unto you.” Another way is to remember, “Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.” Few of us are so perfect in our lives, or our language, that some patience and mercy are not needed and appreciated.
One of the most impressive teachings I received while visiting the Jewish community concerned the acceptance that whenever wisdom is in the hands of humans, there is also some measure of imperfection in the form of unintentional error or intentional deception. Even when error is not desired, it will appear in the work of humans. That’s where patience and mercy motivate the effort to understand in spite of the error by continuing the conversation.
The totalitarian lie can be stated many ways. My favorite way is, “You are an idiot and I know what is best for you.” We know what is best for ourselves; and have no duty to surrender as slaves to any master. On the contrary, Jews and Christians are duty-bound to strive for freedom. That is the Lesson from The Exodus: God wants all of His Children to be free of any form of slavery or tyranny. A second lesson is that no matter how well things start (The children of Israel being welcomed in Egypt) things change (They became slaves).
When anyone tries to force us to become their slave, it is time to examine the relationship and take corrective action.
Travel and return safely. Peace be with you. Frank

Perhaps he thought he recognized some of the police officers as fellow moslim terrorists, and thought they might join in…or at least, not interfere.
Thankfully, he did not murder her and get to run away. Will he be helped with labels of mental illness, unemployment, doesn’t know the ‘culture’ of the country?

“All fo the above” except to those of us who know the drill.

How could one attack with a knife “inside” a police station and not be “mentally ill’ they may ask.
“I was in need of employment, and thought a police officer might make a good fit; so I demonstrated my prowess with a weapon,’ the terrorist whined.
“I didn’t know my actions would be taken out of context. As I am unfamiliar with the inferior culture of you infidels, I was unaware that you put a value on a useless female” he bragged.

We need a few laughs to keep from crying. Peace be with you.

@Frank Anderson,
Bonsoir (it is night on TOULOUSE 11:36 P.M.),
I am glad to hear from you.
We must not wept, the ennemis would be all the happier.
Reunion island is the land of my childhood, the inhabitants of this “vielle France“ were predominantly, and probably still are, Roman Catholics and very religious.
I agree with French government, the more there are people who have access to dangerous weapons the more the social danger will be high. So let disarm people at risk, zero tolerance for terrorism.
Our government keeps saying terrorism is an international threat and that we are a target.
Maybe even a prime target, French are the franks and these backward muslims have not forget crusades and the colonisation.
Peace upon you and USA,

Frank Anderson says
Kevin, always the most sincere and friendly greetings to you. I am old and physically challenged, to say the least. I am helpless against a younger and stronger attacker, and utterly without hope against a number of attackers.
The men who wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution understood that individuals are the first line of law enforcement. Disarming individuals, because some may break the law, encourages the kind of attacks seen in Europe and elsewhere far more often than is reasonable. Only people who obey the law will be disarmed, exactly the result desired by people who have every interest in disobeying the law. Look at the results of a disarmed general population in Germany and the rest of Europe before and during WWII.
Look at Russia, China, or anywhere else. When the people are helpless, the people with the weapons have total control to kill all they don’t like and protect those they like. Switzerland is often cited as an example of an armed population. Certainly one of the reasons they were not invaded in WWII was the presence of arms for every able bodied citizen. Japan dreaded the prospect of invading the US in WWII for the same reason. Every imaginable person would be shooting at invaders from every possible position to make it painfully expensive to visit and suffer the consequences.
Life today is dangerous. Almost anything can be a weapon, from firearms, to knives, to pieces of pipe or motor vehicles. . .not to mention commercial airliners. Just as it is said the answer to hate speech is more speech, the answer to violence is armed resistance in the hands of law abiding people, including those not currently in government uniforms-They shoot the wrong people too.
I wish you well.
Frank

That’s why they are searching for a motive. Islam has killed over 200 million people who were not at war with Islam. There was no motive for killing all those people except they weren’t Muslim.

This is what terrorism is all about, making people imagine threats everywhere. Terrorists prefer the highest possible body count but will settle for planting the seeds of fear. It’s unclear whether martyrdom was the goal here, but regardless it was another case of dim witted Muslims trying and failing to please Allah. And now 37 children are without a father.

Why do we put up with this cr*p from muslims? The governments should be sued for dereliction of duty. They are complicit in these attacks, by pretending they don’t know the motive. How did the lunatic get into the police station with a knife?
Frank Anderson says
David, for what my opinion is worth? In theory a lawsuit would be the way to ask a court to hear a question and make a decision. That assumes you could get a court to hear the case and make an honest decision. In the US that is not something to take for granted. In France and elsewhere, not only would a suit be rejected, it would probably result in sanctions (punishment) for being brought. Collaborators, sympathizers, and “believers” are in such near-total control that any dissent is the target of every penalty that can be applied. I recall a while back a member of the European parliament and candidate for President for France, Marine Le Pen, had all manner of “legal” charges against her. I think it is fair to understand the present situation by comparing it with the Nazi occupation. What would have been the response to a dissenter filing a lawsuit against the Germans for murdering and enslaving millions of French people during WWII? Can anyone say with any conviction that the response today of filing a suit for dereliction of official duty would have any different response? The “usual” expectations of rights and duties are disappearing. They are being replaced right in front of us by collaborators in the totalitarian takeover of our lives, if we let them?
