“This is eye-opening history with enormous implications for foreign policy today. Taking us through the sad history of the Middle East peace process, Robert Spencer is the one analyst of the situation with the courage to identify why these peace negotiations have all failed, and will always fail. This book should be the occasion for a major reset of our policies toward Israel and the Palestinians, and a handy guide for everyone who is tired of the media spin on this all-important issue.” — STEVEN EMERSON, Investigative Project on Terrorism

QUESTIONS:
How does this effect America’s ability to negotiate with Muslims?
How does this effect Israel’s ability to negotiate with Muslims?

I believe that, West Europe must really feel the shame.

Good stuff from Steve Emerson.

three overlooked reasons why negotiations fail:
by Mr. Cohen
=====================================
[1] Every time Israel expresses willingness to make major territorial giveaways in exchange for worthless promises, they give new hope to those people who want Israel to vanish completely.
[2] Every time Israel expresses willingness to make territorial giveaways, they convince more people that the land does not belong to Israel, because if the land really belongs to Israel, then why would they be willing to give it away to their enemies?
[3] Israel’s willingness to make territorial compromises is misinterpreted by Arabs and Muslims as a sign of weakness; and the perception weakness tells Arabs and Muslims to attack, not make peace.
SPECIAL BONUS REASON:
In Arab and Muslim culture, written contracts and treaties do not have the same sacred binding character they do in Europe and the Americas. One possible reason for this is the historically low rate of literacy among Arabs and Muslims. Another possible reason for this is that Islam teaches that treaties that Muslims make with non-Muslims can be broken as soon as it is to the advantage of muslims to do so.

The concept of a permanent treaty of any kind with a non Moslem does not exist in Islamic doctrine. There can only be a temporary ceasefire until situation changes in favour of the Moslem

“As documented in a Pew survey from 2013 that included
almost 40,000 Muslims in 39 countries, Palestinians in the
West Bank and Gaza were often among the Muslim populations
with the most extremist views about the role of Islam in society:
89% of Palestinians said they wanted Sharia law;
66% endorsed the death penalty for Muslims who convert to another religion;
76% supported mutilation as a punishment for theft; and a shocking
84% wanted adulterers stoned to death.”

The highest level of support was recorded in [year] 2007,
when 70% of Palestinians expressed the view that suicide
bombings targeting civilians in defense of Islam could be justified.

Defence of islam – not “defending from aggression”, not “retaliating against aggressors”, simply “defending islam”.

responded in the affirmative.
