Meanwhile, those in the West who oppose Sharia blasphemy laws and advocate the equality of rights of all people, including women, homosexuals, and atheists, are vilified and defamed by feminists, homosexuals, and atheists as “anti-Muslim extremists.”
“Saudi Arabia Labels Feminism, Homosexuality, Atheism As ‘Extremist Ideas,'” Reuters, November 12, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A promotional video published by Saudi Arabia’s state security agency categorises feminism, homosexuality and atheism as extremist ideas, even as the conservative Muslim kingdom seeks to promote tolerance and attract foreigners.
The animated clip posted on Twitter at the weekend by a verified account of the State Security Presidency said “all forms of extremism and perversion are unacceptable”.
It listed those concepts alongside takfir – the Islamist militant practice of labelling followers of other schools of Islam unbelievers.
“Don’t forget that excess of anything at the expense of the homeland is considered extremism,” said the promo’s voiceover….

As a progressive and a non-believer, I’m mystified, and more than a little annoyed, by left-wing atheists who feel compelled to defend Islam and Muslims, and to vilify critics of Islam — THE most despicable religion of all. It’s pure insanity!
revereridesagain says
As a fellow non-believer (but working to be objective rather than “progressive”) I sometimes think that left-wing atheists, like the most of the rest of the left today, have unplugged their brains and function on windmill and solar power while existing on a windless plain beneath unrelieved cloud cover. How can they possibly reconcile recognition that women are sovereign human beings who own themselves with the claim that women were created by a supernatural god to be half the worth of men and subject to virtually total subjugation by them? Nothing explains it but massive evasion in the service of a political agenda.

Hi, How can we convince the stupid blind leftists and over billion Muslims that Islam is (like you said) The most despicable and cruel religion of all??? It seems that big part of the world wants to stay blind and ignorant….
gravenimage says
We will never be able to convince devout Muslims of this. But I do believe that the West is–albeit very slowly–beginning to wake up.

I hope you’re right!

I hope so too Savvy Kafir.
Jayell says
But islam isn’t a ‘religion’. It’s a totalitarian, pseudo-theocratic political system with a cynically-plagiarised sham religious front incompetently concocted from bits of religions current in the 7th. century Arabian peninsular in order to dupe a gullible and intellectually-challenged local populace into supporting the criminal career of an equally intellectually-challenged, greedy, amoral and deluded ‘war-lord’ (= gangster) who either genuinely had a screw loose or/and was willing to perpetrate an epic pseudo-religious scam in order to promote his own evil and avaricious political ambitions. And, by the way, modern feminists, with their transparently-contrived spurious litany of presumed historic social ‘oppression’ intended to validate their incompetently-concealed agenda for quasi-totalitarian gender-orientated political and economic supremacism, are every bit as presumptious, morally bakrupt and downright evil as the devotees of islam. Which is why they apparently get on so well together.
gravenimage says
Islam is a religion by any definition. It’s just an evil religion.

I lived through the 60s and 70s in New York City. I would be tempted to remember it as relatively sane if it were not for the bombings, riots at Columbia U., homeless panhandlers and crazy people all over the sidewalks, marchers chanting support for Marxist dictators, complaints about vulgar tv and movies, political chaos (including impeachment), serial killers, blackouts, end-of-the-world theories, and people pulling (blessedly benign) stunts involving the WTC’s Twin Towers.
And guess what? A lot of the Marxism-deranged youth behind the bombings, riots, marches and chants rose to positions of power and influence everywhere from the universities to the Deep State to Obama’s White House. The only thing really new is all the damn Islam.
They’re baaaaaaaaaaacccccckkkkkkk…..

I grew up in San Francisco in the ’60s and ’70s, and encountered much of the same insanity. I read the book “The Season of the Witch” recently, and found that it was as crazy as I had remembered it, Chilling stuff.
GreekEmpress says
Hi GI,
I grew up there too—total insanity—Symbionese Liberation Army, Zodiac killer, etc. The Hearst family food giveaway was not far from me. I’ll have to get the book you mentioned and read it.
gravenimage says
All very familiar, GreekEmpress. At one point the SLA had a safehouse right in my neighborhood where Patty Hearst was kept for a time–of course, we did not learn this until later. Also the People’s Temple and the Black Panthers over in Oakland.
By the way, the horrible Zebra Killings were Jihad perpetrated by the Black Muslims–also something I also would not learn until later.
I would recommend the book by David Talbot–his politics are a bit to the left of mine, but he is a good writer and has a good grasp of his subject matter, and does not–as is all too common–spout apologia for any of this savagery.

Self-government without self-control does not work.
The Jezebel Spirit, Sodomy, and Heathenism are three signs of a Babylon Whore nation in its last stages but too engrossed in its “if it feels good do it” decadence to notice. “We in the West” have lost all moral center and worship these “liberties” and “rights”. Speak for yourselves. I know what a latter-day Gomorrah this country is. Is Saudi Arabia supposed to be wrong because they’re Islamic & Saudi Arabia?. The enlightened “progressives” and “unbelievers” have a very rude awakening coming.
Wellington says
Jezebel spirit? Atheism more evidence of wrong thinking than what Islam puts forward? Gays worse than the killing of gays a la Mo’s creed?
I’m no fan of many of the modern “trends” in the West, but Islam offers NOTHING by comparison except oppression, repression, stultification of the mind, et al. Think, as an example, would any Muslim-majority nation on their own have figured out how to take oil out of the ground, let alone refine it into gasoline?
The Islamic world is PATHETICALLY dependent on the inventions of Western Civilization, the very civilization that the Islamic world hates the most. This itself speaks volumes.
Whatever is wrong with the West, and much is wrong with it to be sure, it ain’t nothing the Islamic world can fix. Get this if you can, which I kinda’ doubt you will be able to do.
gravenimage says
Fine post, Wellington.
gravenimage says
fredoniahead, do you really think that human rights are somehow opposed to morality? Nothing could be further from the truth. Do you *really* think that a world without human rights–with slavery, the abuse of women, and persecution of the individual and minorities is more moral than one with equality before the law?
And do you *really* want to laud the horrors of Saudi Arabia, where children can be murdered by their parents without penalty, women are not allowed to leave the house without their “Mehram” (owner), employees are treated as slaves, and people are beheaded for “witchcraft”?
Wellington says
Your queries I know are rhetorical, gravenimage, but whether rhetorical or literal they will be lost on “fredoniahead.”
And I bet this person doesn’t have the guts or intellect to refute what you or I have written in response to his reactionary post. There are a lot of dim-wit cowards who post and run and I’m betting “fredoniahead” can be counted among this “select” body. But if this person does respond, they should know that the full force of the truth about Islam will come back at them again.
gravenimage says
Likely so, Wellington. Is fredoniahead advocating a theocracy here where no one is allowed to question any faith? It sure sounds like it.

So true! And it’s that moral vacuum that’s giving them the extra incentive to Islamize us! https://thegreatarchitect.blog/2019/06/12/977/

Whatever the shortcomings of the West, the claim that Islam is morally superior is quite mistaken.
AntiIslamicman says
Islam is even more extreme and very barbaric that’s the joke here. Islam does not do ironic.
DHazard says
Saudi Arabia’s image problems are the same issues that have plagued intelligent Muslims for about 1400 years. It’s called cognitive dissonance which, in the case of Islam, involves balancing the literal word of God, and all the emotional baggage it carries along for the ride, with inescapable facts that cannot be unlearned as well as a moral compass that doesn’t involve torturing or killing.
Tick..tick….tick.
revereridesagain says
As I understand it, according to orthodox Islam the world is re-created every instant by Allah, who has the power to capriciously change reality at “his” whim. No human being can remain sane while actually believing in such nonsense, as no action would be possible in such a capricious universe. This, as DHzard correctly points out, results in massive cognitive dissonance (of which the average Muslim is probably not even consciously aware) “and all the emotional baggage it carries along for the ride”, and that this state of mind cannot be alleviated except by “unlearning” the insanity, which most Muslims are unwilling and/or unable to do. No wonder one of the obsessions reflected in Sharia is the perceived need to kill all those who leave Islam!

Very good point. I remember Hugh’s articles about how he wants to explore Arabia’s jahiliya (pre-Islamic ignorance) past. Wonder what happened there: looks like Islam took over as he saw Turkey horning in as the leader of the Sunnis, and thereby, Islam at large

The statement from the video, “Don’t forget that excess of anything at the expense of the homeland is considered extremism,” would fit in perfectly in George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four. Yes, I am fully aware that very few Americans alive today have read that book. Just 4 years ago my grandson was excoriated by a teacher for suggesting that he be allowed to read the book for credit in a high school English class. This is more evidence of civilizational suicide in the West.

That this happened to your grandson is very disturbing, Ed. Yes, everyone should read this book.

Aussie Infidel says
“Saudi Arabia categorizes feminism, homosexuality and atheism as extremist ideas”. But what is extremist about atheism? The lack of belief in the supernatural? Surely, the opposite should be true – particularly in the case of a religion like Islam which commands so much hatred and violence against ‘unbelievers’. Religion – all religion – is purely a product of the human imagination. The ‘supernatural’ is some fictitous, imaginary concept – and the domain of an all-powerful God – which was evoked by our primitive ancestors to explain our existence and the world about us, because they were scientifically illiterate and couldn’t imagine any other cause. But by definition, the supernatural is above or beyond nature, and therefore outside the universe. I can’t imagine anything more extreme than believing in something which according to all the laws of science cannot even exist or be examined (unless you believe in prayer); but because religion has been perpetuated for millennia, and almost every child is indoctrinated from birth into one faith or another, it has become the norm. And conversely, a lack of belief is often regarded as ‘evil’.
Robert remarked that in the West, atheists are among those who “oppose Sharia blasphemy laws and advocate the equality of rights of all people … etc.” Sadly, this is true, at least of some atheists – and I know many of them personally – but not all of us are like that. The situation is also true of many Christians – and I also know many of them personally – but again thankfully not all of them are like that either. Ironically, it is also true of some women and homosexuals, who at times seem to be in denial. However, most westerners who oppose equal rights and freedom of speech for all, do so not because they are atheists, but because they are Leftists who want to overthrow Western civilization with its Judeo-Christian roots and democratic system of governance; or they are simply devout Muslims waging jihad ‘for the cause of Allah’.
E T says
It is 2019 and women are walking around in ghost outfits, men have 4 wives and sex slaves, slave markets, cutting of hands and feet, old men marry little girls, males, not men “hit” their wives, qisas, thighing, jihad, jizyah, women captives of jihad may be forced to have sex with their captors / new OWNERS…….and these yo yos have the audacity to talk about EXTREMISM. Feckless fools!
Angemon says
As it is now, they might be right about “feminism”. And maybe on atheism and homosexuality – atheists are no longer the angry, chip-on-both-shoulders, preaching, get-in-your-face kind while supposed spokesperson of the gay community seem to be increasingly turning into just that.
All kidding aside, it’s ironic that followers of the ideologies deemed as “extremists” are often found carrying water for islam and muslims in the West.
TrueFreeThinker says
“Saudi Arabia’s state security agency categorizes feminism, homosexuality and atheism as extremist ideas” look at what the radical homosexual agenda has done to America and the west. I think a lot of people are completely unaware of what there doing and where it’s going to go in the next 5-10 years. The media now covers and protects pedophiles just 5 years ago most people would have said that will never happen. I’ve been warning people about this for over 15 years but no one seems to care. People need to do some research on the radical homosexual agenda.
