Too little, too late, after a rain of condemnations of Israel for many years for the crime of defending itself.
“Israel’s military campaign against Islamic Jihad enters second day, UN condemns rocket attacks,” by Andrew Carey, CNN, November 13, 2019:
Jerusalem (CNN)Twenty-four Palestinians, among them 17 militants and a seven-year-old boy, have been killed by Israeli air strikes in Gaza since fighting began Tuesday morning, according to Palestinian health officials.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized at a Cabinet meeting that Israel’s campaign was directed squarely at Islamic Jihad, saying the Israeli military had destroyed several important targets belonging to Gaza’s second largest militant group….
The United Nations says it is working urgently to de-escalate the situation and has also condemned the militants’ use of rockets against Israel.
“The indiscriminate launching of rockets and mortars against population centres is absolutely unacceptable and must stop immediately. There can be no justification for any attacks against civilians,” UN Special Coordinator Nickolay Mladenov said in a statement.
“The continuing escalation is very dangerous. It is yet another attempt to undermine the efforts to improve the dire socio-economic conditions in Gaza and prevent another devastating conflict.”

UN tries to restore its shattered credibility, condemns Islamic Jihad rocket attacks against Israel
……………..
The UN said something critical about Jihad, instead of just condemning Israel for trying to protect herself? This is genuinely surprising.
I won’t be surprised if UN Special Coordinator Nickolay Mladenov is not raked over the coals by the whole of the OIC and their useful idiots.
From his Twitter feed, though, Mladenov himself seems to have swallowed much of the “Palestinian” kool-aid:

UN Leader Ban Ki-moon, in Departing Speech,
Admits Anti-Israel Bias at World Body

(JNS.org) United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who is stepping down at the end of the year, acknowledged in a departing speech that there is “disproportionate” bias against Israel at the world body.
“We must never accept bias against Israel within U.N. bodies,” Ban said Friday.
Ban went on to admit that the U.N. has a “disproportionate volume of resolutions, reports and conferences criticizing Israel,” and that “in many cases, rather than helping the Palestinian cause, this reality has hampered the ability of the U.N. to fulfill its role effectively.”
Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon commended Ban’s statement and noted the disproportionate number of anti-Israel resolutions passed at the U.N. in recent years.
“The secretary-general admitted the clear truth—the U.N.’s hypocrisy towards Israel has broken records over the past decade. During this time the U.N. passed 223 resolutions condemning Israel while only eight resolutions condemning the Syrian regime as it has massacred its citizens over the past six years.
This is absurd,” said Danon.
At the same time, Ban urged Israeli lawmakers to reconsider the controversial outpost bill, which would legalize Israeli settlements on private Palestinian land.
“I strongly urge legislators to reconsider advancing this bill, which will have negative legal consequences for Israel and substantially diminish the chances for Arab-Israeli peace,” Ban said.

Does the United Nations (U.N.) discriminate against Israel?
“Israel is the ONLY U.N. state not permitted to be
a full member of any of the U.N.’s five regional groups.
Throughout the Human Rights Council sessions,
these groups hold key planning meetings in which countries
negotiate and share important information behind closed doors.
Even the Palestinian Authority, though not a state,
is permitted into the Asian regional group.”

This UN is beyond its sell by date! something like 3/4 of its members are non democratic in the legal, strictest sense. Time for the US to kick them out! The unpaid bills & penalties they’ve run up is astronomical. It is as effective as the old League of Nations.

True–a majority of these nations are unfree, and their voting record reflects this. The UN is worse than useless.

It’s the US that should withdraw from the UN. Let China run the place. The US should withdraw from the UN and tell them that they’re not paying squat! Similarly, withdraw from NATO and maybe resurrect the Monroe Doctrine. There is unrest in our backyard – not just Mexico, where 9 Americans were gunned down last week, but in places like Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador, in addition to Venezuela, while Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala are basket cases. If we have to focus outside the US, these are the countries we need to focus on
