If this turns out to be a jihad attack, and it certainly resembles many, many other jihad attacks in the past, it shows yet again the damage caused by the fact that anyone questioning this Saudi national’s fitness for flight training on a Naval Air Station (if that is what he was doing there) would have been derided as “Islamophobic,” as have been all who call attention to this threat.
“Pensacola Shooting Updates: Gunman Was Saudi National, Sources Say,” by Patricia Mazzei, Thomas Gibbons-Neff and Christine Hauser, New York Times, December 6, 2019:
Two deputies were shot but are expected to recover, the sheriff said.
The gunman was a Saudi national, sources say.
Three people were shot dead early Friday at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla., and the gunman has been identified as a Saudi national, according to three sources familiar with the investigation.
The authorities have not publicly named the gunman, who was killed by a sheriff’s deputy. Capt. Timothy F. Kinsella Jr., the base’s commanding officer, declined to comment on whether the shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism. The Pensacola base is known to host international students for flight training.
Saud A. Kabli, a spokesman for the Saudi Arabia Embassy in Washington, said he was aware of the reports but did not have an immediate comment.
Two deputies were shot, one in the arm and one in the knee, but are expected to recover, the sheriff said. The base employs more than 16,000 military personnel and 7,400 civilians.
Kathy Bowers, a spokeswoman for Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, said that the hospital had received eight patients. One of the victims transported to Baptist later died, according to Chief Deputy Chip Simmons of Escambia County. Two other victims died on the base, he said….
Officials began receiving calls about the shooting about 6:50 a.m., and the base was put on lockdown.
“Walking through the crime scene was like being on the set of a movie,” Sheriff David Morgan of Escambia County said.
He added that the authorities were not looking for any additional gunmen….
The motive for the shooting is not yet known. It was also not clear whether the active-duty sailor targeted the three shipyard workers — Department of Defense civilians — or fired indiscriminately.

I’m betting it IS a jihad attack. It IS Friday after all. Their “holiday”, when these attacks happen 99 percent of the time.
J_not_a says
“holy day”. Sorry. Auto correct again.
Terry Gain says
The killer is a Muslim. It is therefore Jihad.

The New York Times says … WHAAAAAAAT ? Motive unclear ? WHAAAAAT ?
Of all the pablum brained, muslim pandering, bulls*it, head-in-the-sand, Eejit responses that could possibly be made !
Way to go, NYT ! Did one of your “crack” investigative reporters write this ? Or are all the real “investigative” fired along with all your editors.
Like Sam Elliot says: You must be a special kind of stupid, aren’t you ?
Sons of Liberty says
The MOTIVE for the shooting is UNCLEAR ? Seriously ? HAVE WE NOT LEARNED ANYTHING from 9/11 . 17 of the hijackers were from …..SAUDI ARABIA ! This was Islamic JIHAD , before the FBI tells us it wasn’t and can’t explain his behavior . Tell the SAUDIS we are NOT going to train their damn pilots . Stop importing ISLAMIC jihadists .
Rachele Raanan says
In such cases where the motive is unclear, we must turn to the expertise of our betters.
If we ask the leading lights of the Democratic Party, I’m sure they will be able to explain why it is all the fault of President Trump.
Of course, should we ask Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and their cohort, they will gladly explain how Israel – especially Netanyahu – was the mastermind.
As for the New York Times, one’s view depends on where one is sitting – and who is paying for one to sit there.
Terry Gain says
It’s not a religion. It’s a conquest ideology, stupid.
Savvy Kafir says
It’s both of those things, and a lot more.
gravenimage says
True, Savvy Kafir.
PRCS says
Many of those ‘trainees’ just go AWOL.
This guy COULD have done the same, but….
Terry Gain says
Contrary to what I am now hearing on Fox News. This is not the best of what Ametica is. Rather it is the stupidest. There is no excuse for this Koranimal to be in America.
John says
How did he get possession of the gun?
Rachele Raanan says
Are you kidding? In Florida?? Ask any elementary school student.
Paula says
Why was he even allowed to sign up for the aviation course? When I 1st heard about the shootings, my mind screamed TERROISM. After the PearlHarbor attack and now this, should we anticipate another act of terrorism in the near future??
PRCS says
Will be interesting to find out what aspect of ‘the training pipeline’ he was in?
Maintenance (enlisted guy)?
Pilot/Naval Flight Officer?
Other?
Terry Gain says
The United States is making great progress in dealing with Islam. There is no chance that the current POTUS WILL declare that this was workplace violence.
America is somewhat safe. For now.
Jay Sundberg says
And these assclowns want to take our guns? While arming foreign nationals. Screw you!
Sons of Liberty says
It’s not President Trump… it is the subversives in the US State Department that I worry about the most. Until all the ANTI- AMERICAN resistance Democrats ..or RINOS are cleared out of the State Department expect more Muslims to be imported with little or no vetting ! These are the same people who were involved in the sedition to remove President Trump that continues today.
J_not_a says
The 15 out of the 19 who carried out 9/11 were student saudi pilot trainees, were they not? Someone correct me if I’m wrong on these details. No lessons learned here? Absolutely shameful if this is the case.
Dawne says
You’re right that no lessons have been learned. The elite pontificate and placate, and the people pay for it with their lives.

Charles J. Neilson MD says
This was a perfect example of the Wahhabi and Salafi quest to perform Jihad in America. For those pantywaists that say that Jihad is a belief of a “minority” of Islamists, just bear in mind that the Quoranic scriptures, the Hadith (religious tales), and a majority of Muslim clerics (both now and in the past) indeed proscribe Jihad, whether or not any given Muslim may not believe that or purport to not believe it. Once more, that 10% minority of “radical Jihadists” makes up about 100 million Muslims. In the face of this attack In Pensacola, by a “minority radical” terrorist, one should see a major problem with difficulty in reading all Muslim’s minds.
This is an eye-awakening example of just how difficult it is to trust the word of an Islamist. So this Wahhabi Muslim from Saudi Arabia, so steeped in conquest ideology, was sent inside one of America’s strategic and most important military training bases to act out on his ideologic religious upbringing. I don’t suppose you forgot about the Muslim Army psychiatrist at Fort Hood who massacred and injured a colossal amount of soldiers there. President Obama said it was “work-place violence”. That statement raises suspicion that Obama was sympathetic to Jihad and not at all supportive of the US in comparison and that his Madrassa studies as a Muslim, during his youth while living in Indonesia, formulated a less than patriotic opinion about the Country he represented as President. Funny, the Democrats accuse President Trump of colluding with foreign countries for his personal benefit yet Obama’s religious upbringing certainly exposed him to Jihad, sharia, and the connection between political ideology and Muslim religious tenets. As a supporter of Trump, I find that extremely dangerous for America, more so than any hypothetical accusations against Trump. But all of the accusations against Trump have not been proven anyway yet Obama cannot rewrite his educational history in Indonesia nor erase the fact that the only “Christian” dogma he and his family have followed is from the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who preaches very little Christian dogma, if at all, but emphasizes racial hatred and condemnation of America. Compared to unproven accusations about Trump, I find Obama’s behavior more than suspect as far as his fairly and patriotically representing America.
Londoners have elected a Muslim mayor and they have allowed sharia courts to exist amongst other consolations that permit and encourage isolation of Muslims within their midst as if they do not expect assimilation. America has never encouraged isolation but rather assimilation and when each and every good Muslim attempts to gain power through leadership roles, especially via elections, I find myself in a quandry that discourages their acceptance due to the very phenomenon described at the top………How do you know if a Muslim is a Jihadist or believes in sharia and will accept it? Furthermore, since the Quoran encourages lying (“Taqqiya”) or concealing truth by any Muslim in carrying out Jihad, it seems proper to hold any and all Muslims suspect when selecting important leadership roles in America. I know that many naive Americans want to give the majority of Muslims unequivocal support and subscribe to anti-Islamophobia rants as if their choice of a Muslim candidate is totally exempt from nefarious Jihadi machinations. Well, again, look at what happened to innocent Americans at the Pensacola Naval Station when a Saudi trainee was selected to enter into that site. YOU CANNOT READ A MUSLIM’S MIND……especially when all of their scriptural doctrines and Hadith traditional stories contain Jihad, sharia, and even the inhuman proscriptions against females, Jews, infidels, and homosexuals, etc. There are no doubt many Muslims who detest these beliefs and are peace loving members of humanity……..but with ALL of the Muslims’ basic religious, as well as political-ideological roots containing such garbage that goes against our Constitution and our sovereignty, it simply must raise some doubt in every voters’ mind as to the responsibility he/she has to vote against an enemy of America. An example of this is a recent election where Democratic candidate from Minnesota, Ilhan Omar, surprised her constituents with turning against her support for Israel only days after winning her election!
As for those who lean towards voting Democrat, let their track record demonstrate how they will open our government up to control by Muslim ideology. Furthermore, how can you support a Party that has women, Jews, and homosexuals demonstrate their support alongside Muslims in New York City…….especially when at least 100 million Muslims hold these minorities in their crosshairs to be dealt with in the future? The political consequences of restricting Muslims, especially our purported ally, the Saudis, from military training within our armed forces would be harrowing, yet a healthy balance of CLOSE SCRUTINY AND ARMED SURVEILLANCE is the least we should expect from now on. You may have noted that most Muslim terrorists are not squeamish about their own demise while carrying out these horrible acts. Suicide in carrying out Jihad brings them and their family righteous benefits which has caused President Nyetinayhu of Israel to emphasize that nuclear weapons, which heretofore during the Cold War was a deterrent to outright major war, in the case of Muslim fundamentalists is NOT A DETERRABLE CONDITION. In other words, any hot headed fundamentalist Islamic leader (eg Iran’s Ayatollahs) WILL USE NUCLEAR WEAPONS IF AVAILABLE and the consequences of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) is not a factor for them to deter its use. If you think about this just a little, you might get your humanistic and lover-of-all-mankind rhetoric down from your high horse and think about the rest of us human beings that ARE subject to being nuclear deterrable.

Doctor Neilson:
I am in agreement with your conclusions. But I am sick to death of people throwing he filthy muslims the bone of saying, “I am sure there are many peaceful muslims.”
Lemme ask you, how many filthy muslims have you heard of stating that these terrorist acts are wrong ? How about they are not nice ? They are not polite ? Any criticism at all ?
Nope ! Not a whisper ! The “gooooood” muslims may not be dancing in the street, but they are not condemning the acts either.
So much for the “goooooood” ones !

………………
Could it be…Jihad?
Mark Berlinger says
With all due respect Capt. Timothy F. Kinsella Jr., the base’s commanding officer, couldn’t recognize Islamic terrorism when it arrived on his base. Obama ended the training of American military personnel about what motivates our observant Muslim enemy.
