I recently spent some time at www.MEMRI.org, where Arabs, Iranians and Turks can be seen, and transcripts of their harangues read, denouncing Israel for many terrible things. Let’s see now, what were they? Oh yes: the Zionist state is denounced for plotting to create a Greater Israel from the Nile to the Euphrates. And for its masterminding of the 9/11 attacks. And for its creation of the Islamic State. And for its creating the Muslim Brotherhood. And for its cold-blooded murder of thousands of Palestinian children, whose blood is used in Jewish rituals. And for its lending support to Bashar Assad so that he could crush his opposition. And for giving weapons to his opposition so they could crush Bashar Assad. And for sending weapons to the Houthis in Yemen. And for sending weapons to the Saudis to use fighting the Houthis in Yemen. And for its support of Saddam Hussein, in order to weaken Iran. And for its support of Fethulleh Gülen, in order to weaken Turkey. And for its support of the Kurds in order to weaken Turkey, and for its support of the Armenian genocide lie in order to weaken Turkey. And for its support of the Nazis in the 1930s so that more Jews would flee to Palestine. And for its role in the international slave trade. And for its role in the cocaine and heroin trade. And last but certainly not least, for its role spreading pornography to millions of innocent young Arab men. I learned too, that Qaddafi’s mother was Jewish, that El-Sisi’s mother was Jewish, that the Saudi royals were of Jewish descent, too. And so on and so crazily forth.
I began to wonder whether, with all this nonstop wickedness, the Israelis had time for anything else. I went to www.algemeiner.com to find out. Here’s a sample – just the headlines — of what I found:

I know the Zionists were not to be trusted, as I had read at www.MEMRI.org, so it was no surprise to discover that the Israelis, in order to disguise their deep malevolence, have been treating Arab children with heart defects. “War is deceit.” It’s in the Talmud.
Here’s the smallest of samples:

Syrian Refugee Mother Thanks Israeli Doctors After They Save Young Child With Heart Defect
While the Israelis keep boasting about their so-called “breakthroughs” in medicine, let’s not forget that the Muslim world has its own advances in the medical field:

Yet there’s a still small voice inside me that asks: I wonder if I could have whatever the Israelis are having? Just on the off-chance, you know, that there might be something to it.

I’ve just had my first visit to Israel, to deepen and expand working relationships between my university and Israeli universities. We are definitely the ones who gain more from our working together. My Israeli colleagues are warm-hearted, hard-working, very interested in what we’re doing and ready to share. What struck me most on my all-too-short ten-day visit, is the depth of Jewish history and the richness of their culture. I consider it the greatest honour of my life so far to have been invited into Albert Einstein’s library, and wonder what the wise people featured on MEMRI would make of that collection. Certainly, I will visit Israel as often as I can, and at least once every year, and very much look forward to getting to know this extraordinary country and its remarkable people better. Oh, and of course, in my own small way, I’ve just shafted BDS, jihad and the OIC. Every little helps.

Hugh Fitzgerald highlights the Muslim rumor mill. Muslims believe rumors because their culture idolizes the illiteracy of Mohammed.
Generally, out of the 50 or so Muslim countries, 15 of them have literacy rates of below 90%. Bangladesh and Pakistan, some of the most populous Muslim countries have literacy rates of 83% and 75% respectively.
– in the 1970s, number of books translated in the Arab world = one-fifth of number of books translated in Greece.
– in the 1980s, number of books translated pre million people, per five years: Arab world 4.4, Hungary 519, Spain 920
– year 1991: 102,000 new books published in North America; 6,500 in the Arab world.

Great piece Hugh…..entertaining AND informative.
My God, the Israelis are worthy of such admiration. What a benefit they are to the entire planet. How truly bizarre that they’re so hated and vilified.
A. Nonymous says
That’s exactly why they’re hated and villified. No good deed ever goes unpunished.

Hats off to Israel!
Israel has contributed so much for mankind while the Muslim contribution to the world is ” How to kill in 1001 ways”…

Hugh, in your list of Muslim scientific accomplishments you omitted the Egyptian creation of a machine that cures AIDS with 100% effectiveness by remotely removing the patient’s blood, cleansing it of the virus before restoring it remotely to the patient. That great doubt (not to mention much scandalized amusement) greeted this Muslim medical miracle can only be explain by envy tinged with Islamophobia.

Great article from Hugh Fitzgerald.
A minor invention in the scheme of things, but I’m enjoying a Soda Stream home carbonated water while reading this–another fine Israeli invention.

“the Muslim world has its own advances in the medical field”
LOL, priceless, Hugh!!
Robert_k says
Prophet Muhammad brought revolutionary advances to the medical field, such as, the virtues of drinking camel urine to cure diseases like cancer, eating seven ajar dates makes one immune to poison, female circumcision, the health benefits of the Zamzam spring water at Mecca; advances to astronomy – the sun goes around the earth and sets in a muddy pond, the moon was split by Allah, etc.
Where would we be without Islam?
Linda Rivera says
For 1,400 years, Islam has brought Extreme Suffering to non Muslims. Cruel Muslims savagely slaughtered Hundreds of millions of our non Muslim brothers and sisters. Their BLOOD CRIES OUT From the Ground to God.
The HOLY ONE, our Precious Wonderful Creator shows the world over and over again, that the Jews are His Chosen People.
Almighty God shows us by the massive numbers of extraordinary inventions of Jews and Israel that help and heal humanity. God shows His great Love and Care for us through the astonishing number and amazing miracles with which Israel blesses the whole world. What a great nation! What a great people!
Israel is a Light to the nations! How very bright that light shines!
