When I was poisoned in Iceland on May 11, 2017 by the Leftists Sindri Geirsson, the proprietor of the Prikið Kaffihús in Reykjavik, and Sigurður Ólafsson, I went to the emergency room at the Landspítali hospital, where a quack doctor, Hjalti Már Björnsson, downplayed and obfuscated what he had to acknowledge were clear symptoms of poisoning in his medical report, lied about what I told him, and failed to take basic tests that should have been done on any emergency room patient. His negligence was likely politically motivated as well, as his Facebook page is full of rage at Trump, claims that those who oppose mass Muslim migration into the West are “racists,” and much more of the usual Leftist nonsense and lies. Here is an English translation of a letter that one of my Icelandic contacts just sent to Hjalti Már Björnsson.
Hello Hjalti
New information has emerged about Robert Spencer’s poisoning. It can be found in the Icelandic police investigation reports that were sent to Spencer according to the provisions of the law that gives a victim of a crime access to evidence and testimonies obtained by the police when an investigation of a criminal case has been closed. Spencer mentions the most important items that can be found in these police reports here and here.
I have also compiled this article that elucidates your involvement in this case. There it is established, for example, that you – who are also an associate professor at the University of Iceland’s Faculty of Medicine and teach a course on the use of health information systems in clinical work and the importance of registration for safety, quality and research – could not provide a single piece of evidence supporting your assertion that Spencer was in “stable condition” and “without dangerous symptoms” when he was discharged from the hospital.
No information can be found in the Landspítali hospital registration system for any vital signs you monitored. Neither pulse, nor respiratory rate, blood pressure or ECG measurements. Not only that, you also refused to answer any questions about your alleged vital signs measurement of Spencer during the investigation of the Icelandic Medical Associations Ethics Committee of the complaint he filed against you for negligence.
Spencer asserts that you did not provide him with any medical treatment while he was staying at the hospital under your supervision. And there is no evidence you did. As stated in the article, Dr Jón Baldursson, head of the Landspítali Quality and Infection Protection Department, has confirmed that no data of any vital sign measurements done by you can be found at the hospital.
In this same article (see further here), it is also shown that the Icelandic Medical Associations Ethics Committee reviewed only part of Spencer’s complaint against you, and dismissed the case for alleged lack of evidence. The Medical Association Ethics Committee did not consider the points and questions of the US doctors that Spencer cited, nor what eyewitnesses had to say about the case and your behavior.
Robert Spencer’s complaint to the Ethics Committee is based on your violation of Article 1, 6, 9, and 15 of the Code of Ethics of the Medical Association of Iceland. In its ruling, the Committee deals with your violation of Articles 1, 9 and 15, but it does not deal with whether you violated Article 6 of the Code of Ethics of the Medical Association. Article 6 reads as follows: “A doctor shall, during research, advice and treatment, base his actions on tested results and/or recognized practice.”
Therefore, it is likely that Spencer’s case will have to be sent back to the Icelandic Medical Associations Ethics Committee.
For some reason, Spencer only got page 1 and page 3 (of probably four pages) of your “medical certification” or testimony to the police (dated July 18, 2018). Spencer has asked the police to send him the rest of your testimony. In a nutshell, your report to the police seems to me to be the same report you had previously sent to the Icelandic Medical Associations Ethics Committee (dated August 27, 2017).
In your report, both to the Ethical Committee and to the police, you tell a story that is based on an incorrect translation by a journalist at the DV newspaper of Spencer’s article in FrontPage Mag; DV stated erroneously that it had been a hostile Icelander that had poisoned him, and you falsely claim that is the version of events that Spencer told you at the hospital! (See more about this issue here and in the attached PDF documents.)
In his complaint to the police, given the day after Spencer left the hospital (I understand that you didn’t even prescribe him sleeping pills or a sedative so he could sleep, so he was more or less awake all night every night, until he left the country gravely ill), Spencer asserted to the police that the “friendly” Icelander probably poisoned him, not the hostile one. Spencer has always been consistent about this in articles and newspaper interviews. As was later uncovered in the police investigation of the case, it was the “friendly” Icelander who did it (see attached PDF of Assistant Prosecutor’s letter).
In short: you have been caught lying. You read a newspaper article in DV newspaper some day in May 2017, a newspaper article that is based on a mistranslation of Spencer’s words, and falsely state in your report to the police and in your report to the Ethical Committee that is what Spencer told you had happened. There is more in your testimony to the police and to the Icelandic Medical Association’s Ethics Committee that is based on lies.
Therefore, it is likely that a charge will be brought against you for making false statements to the police and in your medical certificate.
I thought it was appropriate to notify you that this matter is in no way finished.

This is a fake doctor. He used his office to attempt to let Mr Spencer suffer from a deliberate poisoning. He is in effect supporting terrorism by attempting to silence the man who is sounding the warning.

Damning and utterly disgraceful. I hope this leftist loon who is an insult to the noble profession of medicine is held to account, even to the point of serving jail time and losing his medical license. He is so deserving of both.
mgoldberg says
Indeed. It is is outrageous that any physician would be so negligent ( that is the kindest of descriptions) as to not treat an obviously ill person and then lie about it and then… the medical board neglect to even investigate the allegation. Indeed it wasa criminal set of inactions on this doctors part if he didn’t do baseline studies and document them, but rather, ignore the patient out of some animus of bias against the patient!?! For that, he should lose his license to practice medicine.
gravenimage says
I hope so as well, Wellington.
Jayell says
I don’t understand why there should be anything like this level of islam-inspired deliberate criminal negligence in Iceland, of all places! I always thought Iceland to be a very civilised and respectable place. Can anyone explain?
Wellington says
Iceland is loaded with Leftists and Leftism, like Islam, Nazism and Marxism (Leftism and Marxism of course show a lot of similarities), must demonize those who dare disagree with the “received wisdom.” Put another way, Leftism is an enemy of true freedom as all totalitarian ideologies are. Also, Leftists and Muslims hate Western Civilization, the very civilization that pioneered freedom as no other civilization or society ever has, so temporarily they are allies—but only temporarily.
RichardL says
All embryos with Down syndrome have been aborted in Iceland. The government there encourages it strongly. This doctor simply has a different definition of what life he has to protect: someone who disagrees with him on political matters he doesn’t need to help. The ethics complaint will not be considered by people who share the same cultural (anti-Judaeo-Christian) background.

It sickens me that Icelanders could or would do such a thing. I’ve always wanted to visit Iceland; now, not so sure given my political beliefs which are largely in line with Robert’s.
b.a. freeman says
sadly, i fear that your instincts are good, Peter; except for business, i don’t travel at all any longer. it is no longer safe to visit EUrabia, and even should the destination be safe, the fascists running all western governments save the visigrad nations refuse to examine islam, leaving all travelers at risk of death. business is a necessity, but i will not needlessly risk the lives of my family. the fascists can just figure it out themselves, and if they wait until the ummah takes power, that’s *their* problem. the fascists running the u.s. (to be clear, i mean the unelected bureaucrats who are much more often than not leftists) are no different, but when they come to get me, i will not react as they want, thanks to the second amendment, which was designed for just such circumstances.

I am copying forward my previous post from December 2, 2019 at 8:56 PM followed by some new comments based upon today’s feature article:
I’m a physician currently board-certified in two specialties including family practice. I have worked emergency rooms in medium-sized community hospitals.
I have reviewed the one page medical report found on the link below:
https://www.wnd.com/2017/08/prominent-islam-critic-files-complaint-over-poisoning/
The medical report from the emergency department reflected medical care by Dr. Hjalti Már Björnsson that was substandard:
-Erroneous emphasis on “stress” pertaining to Roberts work.
-Physical exam does not include documentation of a neurological exam.
-Sodium level was low at 126. Normal sodium level is between 135 – 145 mEq per liter. Ecstasy can induce hyponatremia – a low sodium value – which can be very dangerous particularly from a neurological point of view.
-Testing showed a urine drug screen positive for amphetamines and MDMA ecstasy. Regardless, the ER physician wrote that Robert’s symptoms were most consistent with a “panic attack”.
Dr. Andrew Bostom, reviewed the ER medical report, accurately pointed out the deficiencies of the history, physical, assessment, and plan. The risks were high and the treatment was substandard. I agree, continuous cardiac monitoring, pulse oximetry, serial vital signs, 12 lead EKG / cardiac enzymes should all have been done – and robustly documented.
Due to the risk factors, my personal preference would have been continuous monitoring of vital signs, judicious use of IV fluids, etc., until stabilized. I would also have recommended admission to the hospital, at least overnight for observation and re-testing of labs, etc…
Based upon the above, the medical treatment that Robert had received was substandard and medically negligent. At least in the United States, in order to prove medical malpractice you need these 4 items:
1. Existence of a legal duty
2. Breach of that duty
3. Causal connection between the breach and injury
4. Measurable harm from the injury
Since Robert apparently “recovered”, a malpractice suit, unfortunately, may not go far…
========================================================
My comments regarding quotes from today’s feature article:
:…could not provide a single piece of evidence supporting your assertion that Spencer was in “stable condition” and “without dangerous symptoms” when he was discharged from the hospital…”
That is a true statement. No vital signs recorded in the one page medical report referenced above.
“No information can be found in the Landspítali hospital registration system for any vital signs you monitored. Neither pulse, nor respiratory rate, blood pressure or ECG measurements.”
I do not have access to the hospital registration system.
“Spencer asserts that you did not provide him with any medical treatment while he was staying at the hospital under your supervision.”
The one page medical report referenced above documents grossly negligent treatment, as previously noted by me.
“the Landspítali Quality and Infection Protection Department, has confirmed that no data of any vital sign measurements done by you can be found at the hospital.”
Ongoing cardiac monitoring and serial vital signs / pulse oximetry were not documented as being done. This is gross negligence.
“violated Article 6 of the Code of Ethics of the Medical Association. Article 6 reads as follows: “A doctor shall, during research, advice and treatment, base his actions on tested results and/or recognized practice.””
In my opinion, the Code of Ethics was grossly violated.
“the day after Spencer left the hospital (I understand that you didn’t even prescribe him sleeping pills or a sedative so he could sleep, so he was more or less awake all night every night, until he left the country gravely ill)…”
After receiving the results of the toxicology report, the careful use of sedatives would have been an option.
As I previously stated, satisfying the four elements of a malpractice case would be difficult, however, a good case can be made before the medical board regarding gross negligence.

Absolutely appalling mistreatment you received, Robert. I agree with Quazgaa’s comment (just above) that the main thing is that they didn’t manage to destroy you and I can only say, long may you enjoy a good level of health and long may you keep on doing the great and very important work you do. It is very disturbing that you received such terrible medical treatment.
Quazgaa says
You could highlight your statement by cracking open a bottle of beer..😎
tim gallagher says
Yep, I’ll do that, Quazgaa, while having my dinner tonight and toast Robert Spencer’s continuing health despite the disgusting efforts of this maggot of a doctor to destroy his health.

By way of contrast, Israeli doctors treat Palestinian Arabs wounded while committing acts of terror with the highest degree of professionalism.

And that’s just the point isn’t it? The good doctor is entitled to his opinions and beliefs, but there is no excuse for intentionally providing a poisoning victim with grossly substandard care because the doctor dislikes the victim’s worldview. He is, after all, (supposedly) a doctor.

Sue says
Muslims who get medical positions in the United States have flat out stated they planned to poison or perform malpractice upon Jewisn patients. My daughter and I ended up at a local dentist when my daughter had a dental emergency and ended up seeing his partner who was a Lebanese muslim. I made the mistake of telling him we were Jewish. Beads of sweat broke out when we came back for our second appointment, we both had cavities, and he injected us with novocaine that contained biotoxins. Both my daughter and I broke out in a rash that lasted for a month and I later tested positive for a biotoxin. A year or so later I worked with someone who had dated a Palestinian and lived on the West bank for a couple years before 9/11. She said that they were always joking about the Lebanese dentists in Michigan (where I live) poisoning their dental patients. It was this horrible first-hand experience with people whose hatred and evil I could not comprehend woke me up to the fact that muslims are and islam is evil and indistinguishable from Hitler and the nazis.
Sue says
This man, a Dr. Daoud, was the brother of the head of the Lebanese community in Detroit.
James Lincoln says
Very sorry to hear about your experience, Sue.
During my medical training, I was a student for a Muslim internal medicine specialist from Iran working at a VA hospital. It was during the 1979 Iranian revolution.
He was very easily triggered – and I would not trust him.
I would advise everyone to steer clear of Muslim health professionals in general.
Norger says
Not at all surprised that someone would recommend staying away from Muslim health professionals, but coming from a doctor, that’s really telling.
I am also concerned about Muslims in law enforcement and military positions. And even though there have been several instances in the relatively recent past demonstrating the validity of such concerns (e.g. the Fort Hood shooter, Dr. Nidal Hassan) my sense is that it’s career suicide for anyone in law enforcement or the military to express any worry about the obvious danger.
Shirley Ann says
Thank you to Norger, I am Wary, especially on Military Posts, but the Ft.Hood Attack proved to me that the Comand Staff is definitely Islamitized. A Gen. Kelly( No First Name Offered) was sitting near the Coffins of our men & voiced later, that he only hoped that this event did NOT RUIN THE MUSLIM OUTREACH PROGRAM ON POST. Later, he Retired Or was Asked to retire. If anyone else remembers this, please let me know. All Info was hushed, very quickly!

Thanks, James.

Yes–appalling. They should be stripped of their medical licences and deported.

It is a problem. And not just with dentists…..as I find hospitals hire and are required to have diversity, credentials matter and most people should have no concern, but it appears there are other criteria for safety, however the schools and hospitals recieve large amounts of money from the M.E., help build additions, that may encourage whom to hire, it is difficult to find anyone for me to feel comfortable with since it is impossible to ask some highly recommended….who are you? I am sure this is in all states as even a FBI wouId could not consider the risks… when it is not in the CVE narrative to identify it’s potential. Sort of Russian roulette.

excellent! it’s about time these a**holes get their comeuppance!
leftists whine about how “evil” conservatives and anti-islam folks are, then resort to fascist tactics of assault and battery, accompanied by lies. of course, this should be expected, since fascism came from syndicalism and socialism. one might say that fascism is a smarter version of marxism, in that it allows people to continue owning property and running companies, with unpreventable interference in their affairs whenever the fascist state desires. the commies tried to take over and run everything, but they weren’t as smart as they thought, and furthermore, got snookered by bulls**t “science” like lamarckism. in the end, the whole thing collapsed because there was never any feedback; central control ensured universal failure. fascist regimes like the PRC are proving to be the future of the left (while the PRC’s attack do, the DPRK, is a true commie s**thole whose “citizens” (owned by the state) would wholeheartedly abandon the whole reeking mass given half a chance). and of course, if the “democrats” (a misnomer if ever there was one!) have their way, the u.s. will be the world’s biggest and most powerful fascist nation.
with any luck, more of these thugs will be exposed to the light of day, iceland and the rest of EUrabia cry out for disinfection!

Medical jihad has a new face – quack doctor Hjalti Már Björnsson. Those who practice political medicine should have their licenses revoked.
Linde Barrera says
I am so sorry that Robert Spencer suffered as he did while in Iceland and also had to endure the willful incompetence by a person who was titled “physician” but was not really a physician.
This dreadful medical emergency should show everyone that there is doctrine and there is human behavior. Most of those who are supposed to uphold that medical doctrine or Hippocratic oath rightfully do so, but not all do, which is criminal. It is the same with teaching. “Do no harm to any child whether physical, mental or emotional” is the first doctrine of teaching. Yet sometimes you hear or read about a high school teacher who has sex with one of his/her students. This behavior betrays the doctrine, and after a fair trial, if found guilty the teacher should be fired.
I hope Robert Spencer can successfully sue this “doctor” Hjalti Mar Björnsson and get a boatload of money. I also hope this “doctor” gets his license revoked.
GOD BLESS YOU, ROBERT SPENCER.
Carolyne says
We often read that a Muslim doctor has said he would not help heal an infidel and, in fact, would take measures to see they don’t survive the encounter with him/her. In fact, a Muslim doctor in New Jersey was recently charged with sterilizing scores of “Infidel* women without their knowledge or consent. But an infidel doctor doing this, as appears to have happening with Mr. Spencer’s poisoning, is something of an anomaly. I hope this so-called doctor loses his license over this. It is alarming also that this insanity has reached as far as Iceland on its way to the US.
