My latest in PJ Media:
London Bridge jihad murderer Usman Khan was at an event sponsored by Cambridge University Friday, a prisoner rehabilitation conference, when he suddenly decided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the “deradicalization” process: Khan stabbed Jack Merritt, 25, to death at what the Daily Mail called a “prisoner rehabilitation conference that paired jailed killers with students and held creative writing workshops.”
But there’s nothing to worry about here. Jack Merritt’s father, David Merritt, is still a true believer in Britain’s failed multiculturalist project: he wrote that Jack “would not wish his death to be used as the pretext for more draconian sentences or for detaining people unnecessarily.” Apparently, David Merritt would want jihadis in Britain today to be treated exactly the way Usman Khan was, that is, with credulous leniency. ITV News reported Saturday that Khan got onto the track that led him to the program where he killed Jack Merritt when he “penned a letter from his jail cell asking to take part in a deradicalisation course to become ‘a good British citizen.’”
Predictably, British authorities, ever anxious to avoid charges of “Islamophobia,” fell for it hook, line, and sinker.
Khan’s deceitful cry for help came in October 2012, “after his conviction for plotting to blow up the London Stock Exchange as a member of an al Qaida-inspired group.” While he was in prison, he wrote to British authorities, saying he wanted to “learn Islam and its teachings” through a “deradicalidation [sic] course.” Khan added: “I would like to do such a course so I can prove to the authorities, my family and soicity [sic] in general that I don’t carry the views I had before my arrest and also I can prove that at the time I was immature, and now I am much more mature and want to live my life as a good Muslim and also a good citizen of Britain.”
His request was granted. And Khan is no means the first “deradicalized” Muslim to return to the jihad. Deradicalization programs have been implemented elsewhere, notably in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia’s deradicalization program is worse than a failure: terror analyst Paul Sperry wrote in the New York Post several years ago that “counterterrorism experts have long suspected Saudi Arabia’s ‘rehabilitation’ center for terrorists does a poor job of de-radicalizing jihadists. But a Saudi detainee at Guantanamo Bay now reveals it’s actually a recruiting and training factory for jihad.”
There is much more. Read the rest here.

Jack Merritt’s father is a fool along with the British authorities who believe that islam is so benign. So how many Jack Merritts have to die before those idiots realize the true nature of Islam.

And the cruel and sad part here is … THEY MAY NEVER REALIZE THIS… Just like how millions of DHIMMI HINDUS still sing love songs to Islam and Muslims even after centuries of nonstop Islamic torment…

No one can de-radicalize Muslim people until the Qur’an is deradicalized. Who is going to do that? The best Moderate ideas they have is to conquest with Politics. Moderate Islam is just Politics instead of violence but always with the same core goal and its in every form of Islam on earth, from Shia to Sunni. Because it is Qur’an’s message.

The word ‘deradicalized’ has been carefully chosen to insinuate that there is an official version of Islam that doesn’t promote jihad. In fact, ALL VERSIONS of Islam contain a jihad doctrine because jihad is the HIGHEST DEED in Islam.
Mohammed said, “The head of its matter is Islam and its pillar is the Salah and its highest peak is the Jihad.” – Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2616
“The Prophet said, “Shall I not inform you of the head of the matter, as well as its pillar and the apex of its hump? … The head of the matter is Islam.”
Mohammed compared Islam to a male camel and made Islamic ideology the head of it, since no animal can live without its head. Then Mohammed said, “Its pillar is salat.” The pillar of something is what keeps it upright and no matter can be kept upright or steady without a pillar. Then he said, “The apex of its hump is jihad.” The apex of anything is its highest point and the highest point of a camel’s hump is the tip of its hump. Of all deeds, there is nothing that rivals jihad in importance. Abu Hurayrah reported that a man came to Allah’s messenger, and said, “Tell me something equivalent to jihad?” He replied, “I cannot find any.” Then the prophet said, “When Muslims embark on jihad, can you go to the mosque and pray without stopping and fast continuously?” The man replied, “Who can ever do that?”

The only way to ‘deradicalize’ a jihadist is to remove the ‘root’ of jihad from his mind and heart. That ‘root’ is the authority of the Koran. When jihadists see the Koran is a man-made hoax, they can no longer be a jihadist.

Mortimer, you never say why you think that Muslims will listen to the “filthy Infidels” about this.

If they see that the Qur’an is a hoax, surely they won’t be muslims anymore?

“One wonders why it is so difficult. If their misinterpretation of Islam is so clear, one would think it wouldn’t be all that hard to explain it to jihadists, who are generally very devout and anxious to the right Islamic thing.
Unless, of course, the “misinterpretation of Islam” that the jihadists use to justify their actions and make recruits is based on a broad, mainstream tradition in Islam — a tradition that is yet to be successfully challenged on Islamic grounds by self-proclaimed moderates.”

It is very sad that Jack Merritt’s father can’t see that his own leftist views which must have influenced his son have led directly to his son’s death. Unfortunately liberal do-gooders in the UK have pushed and pushed for penal “reform” to the extent that we now have ridiculously short sentences for serious criminals. It is now mandatory for all prisoners – however appalling their crime – to be released half way through their sentence, unless they are very specifically given an “indeterminate” sentence. Usman Khan was originally given an indeterminate sentence but on appeal this was made “determinate” i.e. for a number of years and he was released in less than half of that number of years. What a shambles.
Jack Merritt’s father is a Labour party activist – it is almost unbelievable that the murder of his son has not caused the scales to fall from his eyes and for him to see clearly that terrorists do not reform.

How true – that for all Western Europe is radicalized – or as we say here : another ” individual case ” from 10.000 …

There is no point in trying to deradicalize radicals. Put them in jail for 30 years and do not make any exceptions or give early release or parole. The certainty of this might have some deterrent value. Or execute some of them. they have no death penalty in the UK, but perhaps they should introduce one for special cases. Call these crimes ideological war crimes and create a category of law that permits executions. That could have a deterrent effect. Or take no prisoners when apprehending such people. That would in the end result in fewer victims and fewer perpetrators than the system they have now.

So, according to his letter to the UK authoriies, this speciimen wanted to ‘learn how to be a good muslim and a good British citizen’. He obviously had no idea about the requirements for being a ‘good British citizen’ because he would have known tbat tbey would exclude everything that islam stands for to the extent that being a ‘good muslim’ equates with being a ‘good criminal’ according to British law and tradition. And, since he’d suceeded in getting himself incarcerated, he’d obviously already suceeded as a ‘good muslim’ – but he was probably already fully aware of that fact and that this letter of his was a catalogue of total, deliberate bullsh*t. It’s unfortunate that the UK authorities also shared his apparent ignorance of the vast discrepancy between muslim values and their own – assuming that they actually knew what ‘their own’ were supposed to be. But that’s also assuming that the UK authorities here weren’t part of the muslim infestation, in which case ‘British values’ would be as immaterial as the British lives snuffed out by ths ‘hero’ of this story.

Dear Britain, you were once Catholic but you renounced Christ,s Church for a king who wanted a divorce. You managed to insert yourself in every corner of the world, and now you can’t even stop a foreign invader from controlling your own country (no go zones ,Sharia courts, mandated immigration). The rest of the world is watching and enjoying the show, especially Erie. Cromwell must be turning in his grave. Get your prayer mats ready , your about to change your religion again. Tally ho !!!!!!!

If you are Irish and are enjoying seeing Britain fall to Islam, with all respect you are a fool. Do you *really* think that having an Isamized UK will make things better for Ireland? It *will not*. Sometimes Shadenfreud is deeply idiotic; this is one of those times.

Moreover, if you think that Ireland herself is safe from Jihad, you are very much mistaken. Here are articles about the Jihad in Ireland at Jihad Watch:

Per the ‘Gateway Pundit’, Jack Merritt’s Cambridge Masters Thesis was on this exact topic. Mr Merritt actively supported and advocated for early release and short sentences for serious criminals, especially radialized Muslims.
Wonder if he had a change of views as he lay dying?
PS The lady who was killed was also a big supporter of early releases too.
