My latest in PJ Media:
Assessments of Donald Trump’s presidency vary widely depending on who is doing the assessing. But if future generations of historians aren’t total social justice warriors — as is likely given the fact that the socialist bubble bursts almost immediately every time socialism is implemented — Trump will almost certainly be judged as one of America’s greatest presidents, barring economic or other disaster while he is in the White House. One key reason for this is his departure from what had been standard “Israeli/Palestinian peace process” procedure.
Ever since since the British incited riots against Jews in Palestine in 1920, the standard approach has been this: Western powers demand substantive concessions from the Israelis and promises from the Palestinian Arabs, and continue to do so even as Palestinians flout all agreements and promises they made, never holding Palestinians accountable for their actions or attaching any consequences to them.
After nearly a century of this, Trump began to reward the Israelis for their commitment to peace and penalize the Palestinians for their commitment to war. As the new book The Palestinian Delusion: The Catastrophic History of the Middle East Peace Process details, Trump fulfilled a campaign promise and shocked the world on December 6, 2017 by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and announcing that the U.S. embassy would move there. “When I came into office,” Trump said, “I promised to look at the world’s challenges with open eyes and very fresh thinking. We cannot solve our problems by making the same failed assumptions and repeating the same failed strategies of the past. Old challenges demand new approaches.” If that were true of anything, it was true of the “peace process.”
There is much more. Read the rest here.

This assessment of Donald Trump is so very true. The Democrats think they have him on the ropes right now, over impeachment, but, come the next Presidential election, they themselves will be in trouble. They will be asked how it was that Hunter Biden became a director of this Ukrainian company in the oil and gas business when he apparently has no oil and gas experience and how became a director apparently while his father was US Vice-President and it seems that Biden Jr has never visited Ukraine. This story has a long way to run.

Just play in Congress the seminar video of Joe Biden bragging about intimidating the Ukrainians to sack the state prosecutor who was investigating Burisma, in order to get aid, then bragging that they buckled and did it.
The true corrupt deep state mafia that is for the moment untouchable. After 2020 if Trump wins, we will see…

If Trump troll tweets out this video, then he will be truly great, because it needs to be said. Communist China is worse than the Bolsheviks and the Nazis were. The raising of their flag on US soil should be as banned as raising the Swastika!

Trump may seem unprincipled sometimes, but the true principles and his understanding remains.
As he understood, and recited the poem about the snake.
On her way to work one morning
Down the path alongside the lake
A tender-hearted woman saw a poor half-frozen snake
His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew
“Oh well,” she cried, “I’ll take you in and I’ll take care of you”
“Take me in oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake
She wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk
And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk
Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived
She found that pretty snake she’d taken in had been revived
“Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake
Now she clutched him to her bosom, “You’re so beautiful,” she cried
“But if I hadn’t brought you in by now you might have died”
Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight
But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite
“Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake
“I saved you,” cried that woman
“And you’ve bit me even, why?
<b< You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die”
“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin
“You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in
”Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman,“ sighed the snake
Many also took it as if they were the identified snake with their agenda too, and detested Trump who seemed to guilelessly know the truth about their agendas.
Sure he will make mistakes, but he seems to be thinking, reasoning, all the time, so he can change his mind, but it seems not mindlessly.

Every time I’ve seen the president read out that poem at his rallies, the only thing I think of are Muslims. Not MS-13, not DACA kids, not Hondurans or Salvadoreans.
He needs to expand that travel ban to cover more than a mere 10% of the ummah

Yes, watch first and foremost what Trump does rather than what he says. In any case, Trump’s greatness, unfortunately, will be lost on ALL Leftists, fools that they are, many wishy-washy moderates and even some conservatives (e.g., the increasingly clueless George Will).
Well, Washington was excoriated in his time as a tyrant and Lincoln was hated by many not only in the South but by a multitude in the North (e.g., the Copperheads). So, this is what to expect when greatness stares you in the face, i.e., most won’t have a clue what is staring them in the face. Count on it.
commonsense says
Amen, Wellington.
Infidel says
I agree w/ RS here about Trump’s moves on Jerusalem, Golan and now Judea/Samaria settlements, but the main reason Trump is great is by challenging China’s uninterrupted hegemony in the world economy w/ his tariffs on them and confronting them in multiple scenarios – North Korea, trade, now Hong Kong and the Indo-Pacific at large. Not just that, but by replacing NAFTA w/ USMCA, he’s also given American companies that find the prospects of relocating to the US daunting the option of moving their Chinese operations to Mexico. If they haven’t already moved it to Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines or India.
Also, while I don’t normally agree w/ Macron (I support Marine Le Pen), he was right on the money when he described NATO as brain-dead. NATO hasn’t undergone a review since 1992, when one was due, and today, we have Turkey misbehaving as a member. The problem though isn’t Turkey buying Russian weapons: it is Turkey trying to become a hegemonic leader of the Islamic world (and Russia actually would be more of an ally than countries like Germany, France or even UK, let alone Turkey). The sooner Trump steers US geopolitics towards confronting both China and the Islamic bloc (read Turkey led coalition – Turkey, Qatar, Pakistan, Malaysia, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and maybe the ‘stans’), the better it will be for the world
Wellington says
Turkey in NATO is a disgrace. China remains in “never learn” mode about freedom (so much for the vaunted “wisdom of the East”).
NATO, as you, Infidel, indicated may very well be a relic that should no longer be preserved (though something like it, I would argue, needs to take its place but this is contingent on Western Europe finally getting some balls, certainly no guarantee here to put it mildly).
As for Russia, I am very wary. It still treats and looks upon its neighbors as vassals or enemies, as most every Eastern European nation knows only too well (the main reason why a country like Poland wanted to be in NATO). It remains the retarded half-sister of the West and fulfills time and time again the assessment of Russia as xenophobic, paranoid and massively deficient on the matter of liberty. Whether under Czars, First Secretaries or now Putin, Russia never seems to learn. I wish it would but to date there is no way that it could be asserted that it has. Check out the collective opinion of Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Poles, Hungarians, Czechs, Slovaks, Ukrainians, Georgians—ah yes, a very long list indeed—for further confirmation of this contention of mine.
Infidel says
I’m fine w/ the US not having an alliance w/ Russia. But we need to stop pretending that they are what they were under the General Secretaries of the CPSU or even under the Tsars. (Actually, under the Tsars, they weren’t much different from their counterparts in Austria, Prussia, France or Britain: everybody had an urge for conquest, which only ended after WWI). They have no allies outside their country that mean anything. Not even Serbia or Belarus. They have an economy the size of Italy, and are almost a Saudi Arabia w/o the Islam and the deserts. And a military that struggled to keep Chechnya, and struggling in the Donbass today.
In the meantime, China has a population and an economy that can overwhelm their immediate neighborhood, while Turkey has allies all over the place – Sunni fundamuslimists in Somalia, Sudan, Qatar, Pakistan, Malaysia, and they’re also cementing relations w/ the Turkic members of the former Soviet Union – Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and most recently Uzbekistan. Just look at all that on a map and you’ll get an idea about who’s the bigger threat is: it’s not Turkey alone, but a group of countries b/w Turkey to Somalia to Malaysia to Kazakhstan
Wellington says
Pretty close again I think we are, Infidel. Do wish though that Russia would produce a leader of the caliber of a Reagan or a Trump. Hell, I’d settle for a Cleveland or a Coolidge.
Infidel says
I’d like to see a 21st Century Tsar Peter the Great – someone who mobilizes the country to modernize and have a 21st century economy. If Russia was anything like Germany, Sweden, Denmark, its economy would be the third largest in the world – behind the US and China.
Another thing they could do that a lot of other countries have done – move their capital to the center of the entire country, rather than have it in a city on their western rim. That way, they stop seeing themselves merely as a part of what goes on in Eastern Europe

One Key Reason Why Trump Is a Truly Great American President

Yes–President Trump’s unwavering support for Israel–one that goes beyond that of any other president in recent memory–is one of his greatest aspects.

Dear Robert Spencer you are my Hero. May God bless you and keep you and protect you. You have just confirmed the sentence that made me become the enemy N1 of my co-workers in 2016. I was at work and during Lunch Time we were watching the Debate between Hillary and Donald Trump. I stood up boldly and say to all my colleagues ” you are watching someone who will be the greatest President of the USA” I say Trump will win the Elections and will be the greatest President Ever. My Colleagues had the laughter of their lives and said they thought I was a very wise and reserved person, but they just realised how stupid I am” I doubled down my argument and they hate me like crazy. Today they still hating me because I was right. that has made me the greatest Trump supporter here in Cape Town, South Africa.
I cannot agree more with you. THE MORE HE STANDS FOR AMERICANS AND FIRM AGAINST THE DEMOC-RATS THE MORE GREAT HE CONTINUE TO BE.

Next November the Democrats are going to have their fried arseholes served to them on a platter!
Moreover, when are the handcuffs coming out for Schiff and Pelosi (just for starters)? Surely this has got to happen very soon?
David Darman says
When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. In other words, Mr Spencer, your entire world view is skewed because it is seen through “jihad” colored glasses. Every conceivable issue from domestic economics to international politcal alignments is analyzed only by its relationship to outing (admittedly horrific) islamic ideology.
Trump has it right on Israel/Arabs, but even a broken clock is right 2 times a day. He is an incompetent jerk.
Infidel says
Trump is right on most things. This site covers just Islam and Jihad, so that’s what RS covered. But even on other things, he’s right. Like taking on China head on and sending their economy into a tailspin, and confronting them everywhere. Questioning NATO, and reading them the riot act. Pulling the US out of the Middle East (or at least trying to) so that their natural fissures can surface, like the ones b/w Turkey and the Arabs, or the war in Yemen, or the unrest in Iran. Putting tariffs on other countries and forcing them to level the playing fields. Repealing gobs of regulations. Appointing constructionist judges. Driving employment numbers back up. And so on.
The only shortcomings of the administration that I can see so far is failure to shatter the education lobby, which is why we have a skills gap. The failure to crack down on Wall Street excesses, like what the hedge funds do. The failure to do immigration reform i.e. repeal DACA, deport as many illegals and build the complete wall. A good part of it is Dem opposition, so hopefully, the GOP gets back the house next year

I love President Trump. He calls out those mealy minded fakes in Washington, speaks the common persons language and has the moral fibre to stand up to media tripe. The world needs leaders like Trump. It’s so good to hear a leader insult the eminently unsuitable for any leadership position.
