This is good. But the training is likely to be started up again once the media attention has turned elsewhere. What should be done is a complete suspension of these training programs unless and until the Saudis can show genuine evidence that they are no longer teaching jihad against the Infidel in Saudi schools and mosques.
“The Pentagon orders operational training pause for all Saudi students in the US after NAS Pensacola shooting,” by Ryan Pickrell, Business Insider, December 10, 2019:
The Department of Defense has ordered a pause on operational training for all Saudi military personnel training in the US as the department conducts a review in the wake of the deadly shooting last Friday at Naval Air Station Pensacola, according to a DoD memo.
Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist, at the order of Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, issued a memo Tuesday calling for the department to take “immediate steps to strengthen personnel vetting” for international military students and complete a review within 10 days of “policies and procedures for screening foreign students and granting access to our bases.”
“Pending the completion of a security and safety stand-down,” he wrote, “training of KSA students at US installations will be limited to the classroom.”
The Pentagon notes that the US has trained more than 28,000 Saudi students “without serious incident,” but the “tragic loss of life” that occurred last Friday has led the department to reassess its security procedures. The latest move will affect all 852 Saudi students currently training in the US.
The decision follows an earlier decision by the Navy to suspend flight training for more than 300 Saudi military aviation students at three different Navy facilities, namely NAS Pensacola, NAS Whiting Field, and NAS Mayport as part of an ongoing safety stand-down and operational pause that began Monday….
PRCS says
Yup, because no other Muslim nation’s military personnel EVER cause us any trouble.
Right?

Cuban Crisis….but they did come to their senses after the U.S. navy surrounded the Island. a more humanitarian response to or intelligent enough to know the consequences and be peaceful.

Remember 9/11?

BOY, DO I ? But those disciples of the religion of love were not armed forces personnel. They were simply filthy musims !
I also remember filthy muslims all over the place, celebrating and dancing, passing out sweets and having a good old time ! These were the “peaceful muslims”.
There should be NO MUSLIMS from anywhere ever again admitted to the United States. If that sounds like a prejudicial statement …. You’re damned right it is.
How many times are we going to present our throats to be cut ? Close all mosques ! Ban all muslim organizations. Designate CAIR a terrorist supporting entity and ban it !
That would a good start, but not enough ! More self protection and common sense measures to follow !
Ed Lee says
Robert, I can’t believe the unrealistic words coming from your keyboard. You are recommending “a complete suspension of these training programs unless and until the Saudis can show genuine evidence that they are no longer teaching jihad against the Infidel in Saudi schools and mosques.” This is a joke, right? You know, with more certainty than almost anyone else in the world, that the Saudis are never going to stop teaching jihad against infidels. You should have demanded “a complete suspension of these training programs”, hit the ‘period’ key and stopped typing.
PRCS says
unless and until the Saudis can show genuine evidence that they are no longer teaching jihad against the Infidel in Saudi schools and mosques
That they’re not going to do that was the point.
underbed cat says
It may take years, but they would have to be concerned about their relations with older generations, othercountries it spread to that may like the control that have been taught to control and taught the commands, teaching that would produce resistance, although it would be a new life and the young may prefer, then it could be a religion and government of peace but with some rules, like no killing or aggression into nations or sending people abroad. The U.S. should recognize these teachings from the Quran that the Saudi’ support currently and stop it in this country since we have 3300 mosques teaching this, potential jihadi’s within at this point.

PRCS: I disagree. If that’s what Robert means, that is what he would have written. He is very straightforward and plain spoken. When he uses sarcasm or hyperbole, it is clearly evident.

Point taken ! And don’t forget that the Saudis are the best of the lot. If you
want to see real hate, look to the so called palestinians*.

Walter Sieruk says
The Islamic kingdom of Saudi Arabia in no friend of any Western nation, Saudi Arabia is best defined as a kingdom of Islamic hate
As one Arab scholar who had lived in a Middle Eastern country, for many years revealed “Saudi madrassa notably teach hatred and condemnation of the West and non-Muslims” and “The Saudi Government also provides free textbooks to Islamic schools throughout the world . many of the Saudi- Issued textbook’s contain wording that encourages hatred and intolerance for non-Muslims.” [1]
Saudi Arabia in many ways is no better than Iran.
[1] THEY MUST BE STOPPED by Brigitte Gabriel, page 106
Walter Sieruk says
The Pentagon issue such and order it would be foolish not to. For the Islamic kingdom of Saudi Arabia has not and will not spare any of its vast oil wealth as to use its financial resources to fund and promote the advancement of Islam by and through the jihad. By this it means both the stealth jihad and even the subtle support violent jihad.
As explained, for example in the book HOW ISLAM PLANS TO CHANGE THE WORLD by William Wagner. For on pages 109, 110. The reader is informed that “The Wall Street journal on April 15, 2003 published an article titled ‘In law Seminars, A Saudi Group Spreads Extremism.’ The article began by saying ‘In late February more than 300 young men from across Europe gathered for a weekend seminar on Islamic Law put on by Al-Waqf al-Islaami Foundation.’ The article went on to explain that the most famous graduates from the seminar were half a dozen members of the group of young men from Hamburg, Germany, who plotted the September 11, attacks. The language of the was Dutch, but ‘the message was imported from Saudi Arabia, via Saudi books and lecturers who taught a strict orthodox interpretation of Islam.’ “
Further on the very same page of 110 the information is given that “TIME MAGAZINE , in an article on Saudi Arabia: Inside the Kingdom,’ stated ‘Apart from channeling money to foundations that have assisted terrorist groups, Saudis have for years supported institutions abroad the propagate Wahhabism.’”
In addition to all this, in the book of the title of THE HISTORY OF JIHAD FROM MUHAMMAD TO ISIS, by Robert Spencer on pages 333 through 337.Mr Spencer provides valid information of the subject of “ The Saudi involvement in September 11.”
So with that Islamic regime of Saudi Arabia and its oil money support the different type of the jihad, both stealth and the violent kind, with its Islamic agenda advancement and spread , influence and infiltration of the Western nations ,this kingdom of Saudi Arabia is no friend at all of America or any other country of the West.

Good to stop this on base, but how many mosques are there on the bases?
Jim says
Multipurpose buildings. I’ve never seen a single building on a base dedicated to a single religion.
James Lincoln says
I completed primary ground school / flight training in the T-34C at NAS Pensacola / NAS Whiting Field back in the 1980s.
NO Muslims should EVER be allowed on any US military base – let alone go through flight training.
Jim says
There are a few Muslims on NAS Bahrain, surrounded by M16s or what ever assault rifle the Marines carry today. Not a gun free base. Big difference from the airbase.
James Lincoln says
Jim,
You are correct. I was stationed in Bahrain in the mid-1990s when I was attached to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (CENTCOM).
Definitely not a gun free base, lots of M-16s. A jihad inspired Muslim would not get far.
Sailerboy says
Why doesn’t Saudi Arabia build their own training center? We could help train the trainers.

Pentagon orders operational training pause for all Saudi students in the US after Pensacola jihad massacre
…………………
This is the bare minimum–but given that we often cannot be certain of even this minimal commonsense these days, I’m applauding this move.
Infidel says
Depends on how one defines a ‘pause’. Right now, the orders are that all their training will be classroom training and nothing more.
Instead, what should happen is that all the training needs to be moved to Riyadh, or some other base in Saudi Arabia. If there happens to be any American Muslim instructors, send them there, but otherwise, make all the training long distance using a combination of video conferencing, simulators and online training. Let the Saudis do the best they can using that.
Beyond that, though, just add Saudi Arabia to the list of travel ban countries once the excitement over Aramco’s $2 trillion IPO has subsided
Jim says
100% concur…no reason why this training can not be done over the wire..reducing the risk of American lives.
gravenimage says
Infidel and Jim, I don’t think we should be giving military training to Muslims, in any case. Of course, you are right that allowing them onto American soil is even crazier.
Infidel says
gravenimage, I have mixed opinions about that. Had this military training looked like it’d be used against Israel, I’d be very against it. However, it would be used in taqfir wars – for the Saudis to battle Yemen, and maybe confront Qatar and Iran.
Like Hugh, I love it when Muslims are at war w/ other Muslims: that’s less energy for them to wage war on Infidels. Especially Saudi Arabia: when they’re not spending money on opulent palaces in Europe or Saudi Arabia itself or on billion $$$ weapons systems, they use that money to build and expand mosques not only in Muslim countries like in Kyrgyzstan, but also in non Muslim countries from Canada to New Zealand and Kazakhstan to South Africa. They’re not gonna use that to educate their own citizens, or promote the welfare of other Muslims in their neighborhood, such as Palis, Egyptians or Sudanese. So them having to spend near the range of a trillion on weapons is actually good news: it’s that much less money that they can use in building mosques in Santa Clara, Barcelona, Bangalore or Hong Kong.
Other than that, I just hope that non Muslim countries outside China buy less and less of their oil from Muslim countries, like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Libya, Algeria, et al, so that ultimately, Saudi Arabia’s economy becomes something like Venezuela’s. Although I don’t see that happening w/o them going communist
gravenimage says
Infidel, I take your point. But I don’t think that we can ever be certain that Muslims will only use military training to kill other Muslims. In fact, this often is anything but the case–beginning with the Muslim in the story above.
abad says
How about this.
We should not be allowing any Moslems from any country to come here and train in our military.
How does that sound?
Does that sound good with you?
Moslems must learn how to stay on their own turf. They are not wanted here.
Drew Webb says
Personally i would stop ALL training to any from Muslim nations. Nor would i let them enter the country. Seems to work ok in Japan.

Next time one might fly a training jet into a building?

I doubt if the KSA would agree to the DoD adding one of mortimer’s deprogramming courses to the curriculum. The result might be that the KSA pilots return home to bomb themselves.
Nelson W. Lentz says
“pause”??? Why shouldn’t it be a permanent end to operational training for Saudi students or any Muslims???
