Pope Francis is doubtless on his way to Cotabato right now, in order to explain to these Muslims that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.”
“ASIA/PHILIPPINES – Terrorist violence on Christmas eve: attack in front of the Cathedral,” Agenzia Fides, December 23, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Cotabato (Agenzia Fides) – Terrorist violence has bloodied the Southern Philippines on Christmas eve: yesterday, on the evening of December 22, during Sunday Mass, a bomb exploded outside Cotabato Cathedral, a city on the island of Mindanao in the south of the Philippines.
22 people were injured in the explosion. Among them there were 12 soldiers who were employed in the patrol of the church, one of the security measures adopted during the Christmas holidays.
A second bomb attack occurred a short distance away, injuring a passer-by.
“It is a cowardly act on the eve of the Christmas celebrations. The Church strongly condemns these attacks on people and churches”, reports Father Zaldy Robles, a Catholic priest serving in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Cotabato, to Agenzia Fides.
Father Robles tells Fides that the explosion occurred when Sunday mass was underway; people, in a panic, took refuge in the church. Despite the climate of tension and fear, church leaders urged the local population “not to be afraid to celebrate Christmas with joy and courage”.
In another province, Maguindanao, a bomb was detonated in the city of Upi, injuring two people. A bomb was then dropped at a local police station but did not explode. The army and police have stepped up their investigations to look for the perpetrators of these serial explosions. “Security measures have been strengthened”, said the mayor of Cotabato, Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi.
According to Major Arvin Encinas, spokesman for the Western Army Command in Mindanao, terrorist groups such as the “Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters” (BIFF) or linked to the self-styled “Islamic State” (Isis) may be behind the attacks….

The religion of peace, as it is called by Obama, Merkel, and all the other taking heads in the west. For muslims it is the religion of jihad. And bombing churches jihad, no matter what talking heads in the west narrate about islam. Their narrations do not come from Islamic textbooks but from fairy tales told to student kids by uncle professor for Islamic fairy tales

Mike : if a Muslim is a piece of gold, don’t put it in your pocket otherwise it will rip through “ that’s a proverb was said by Iraqi Christian ancestors hundreds of years ago out of their bitter experience with Islam since its rise! meaning the Muslims will stab Christians and other non Muslims in the back when they have the chance to do it especially when they take Islam seriously and Iraqi Christians experienced that in Iraq after the fall of Saddam’s bloody regime ! and I am a Canadian Christian guy originally from Iraq.

I’d like to see a complete list of the verses of the Koran that need to be omitted for a “proper reading” of it, a reading that omits violence and subjugation of infidels. I have my own list of over a hundred verses but I’m sure I have missed a few.
From my limited study of the Koran I have found nothing in it that makes it worth giving up just about any other religion for.

PS: If someone wants to post my requested list of verses, just the chapter numbers will do – no need to include the texts, which I can look up myself.

Pope Francis should learn something of Islamic theology. Muslims hate Christmas because it declares Christianity’s most blasphemous doctrine according to the Koran … that the Deity has a Son who was incarnate in man. Islam is likely based on Gnositicism … positing that matter is evil and thus God could not take on human flesh. Humans could not be adopted children of God, because Islam says they are no better than slaves.
Without a clear understanding of Islamic theology, Pope Francis is out to lunch.

I believe they hold the docetist view also, a subset, that Jesus didn’t really suffer on the cross..

We traditional Catholics all pretty much know he does not hold the Catholic faith and is doing all he can to change it…a heretic that is…a false shepherd – so we don’t listen to anything he says…

It would be quite the inter-faith gesture if the pope were to travel there and give a proper scolding to those misinformed terrorists. I imagine his muslim friends in high places wouldn’t allow him to harass such worthies however (not that he seems inclined.). Undoubtedly he suspects he’d be an A1 target.

Of course the old If you don’t believe what I tell you to believe we will kill you. A method followed by Romans, Turks, Mongolia, China, North Korea, Cambodia, Russia, Germany, the French, the English, Spanish, Somalia, Americans, Bolivia….I mean since it is so popular it must be the way to go???jk
Merwin Hayes. says
rcjazz – when did you ever hear of the English or Americans killing anyone because they didn’t believe the same as them?

Someone should ask Pope Francis why Muslims are not listening to his re-interpretation of Islam.
OLD GUY says
Just another murderous islamic muslim following his religion. Yet the media, liberal leaders and the pope still tell us that islam and muslims are at peace with the rest of the world, BULLSHIT! They are all supporting the jihad either by action or by inaction that allow and encourage their murderous brothers and sisters. No islam results in a more peaceful world.
