Yesterday I appeared on the 700 Club with Pat Robertson, discussion the Middle East peace process, why it always fails, and what a better approach would look like. All this is detailed in The Palestinian Delusion: The Catastrophic History of the Middle East Peace Process.
“The Palestinian Delusion: Why Every Middle East Peace Plan Has Failed, and What Must Be Done Instead,” CBN News, December 2, 2019:
Every negotiated settlement between the State of Israel and its Palestinian adversaries has failed to establish a stable and lasting peace. This is the history of what was attempted, why those failures were inevitable, and what must be done instead.
Every new American President has a plan to bring about peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and every one of them fails.
Every “peace process” has failed in its primary objective: to establish a stable and lasting accord between the two parties, such that they can live together side-by-side in friendship rather than enmity.
But why? And what can be done instead?
While this failure is a consistent pattern stretching back decades, there is virtually no public discussion or even a basic understanding of the primary reason for this failure.
Robert Spencer’s new book, The Palestinian Delusion, is unique in situating the Israeli/Palestinian conflict within the context of the global jihad that has found renewed impetus in the latter portion of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first. Briskly recounting the tumultuous history of the “peace process,” Spencer demonstrates that the determination of diplomats, policymakers, and negotiators to ignore this aspect of the conflict has led the Israelis, the Palestinians, and the world down numerous blind alleys. This has often only exacerbated, rather than healed, this conflict.
Pat Robertson talks with author and Middle East expert Robert Spencer about his new book, The Palestinian Delusion, on Wednesday’s 700 Club.
The Palestinian Delusion offers a general overview of the Zionist settlement of Palestine, the establishment of the State of Israel, and the Arab Muslim reaction to these events. It explores the dramatic and little-known history of the various peace efforts—showing how and why they invariably broke down or failed to be implemented fully. The Palestinian Delusion also provides shocking evidence from the Palestinian media, as well as statements from the Palestinian leadership, showing that negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians will never work.
But there is still cause for hope. Spencer delineates a realistic, viable alternative to the endless and futile “peace process,” that shows how the Jewish State and the Palestinian Arabs can truly coexist in peace—without illusions or unrealistic expectations.

The only type of peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Infidels that is acceptable to Allah must be done in accordance with Koran 9:29. It’s there for everyone to read. Except for the amount of the Jizya and just how humble the Infidels must act toward the Muslims, it seems fairly straightforward to me.
eduardo odraude says
Qur’an 9:29 (1. Convert to Islam, or 2. pay a protection tax and live as an inferior, brutally debased class, or 3. if you won’t accept either of the first two options, then we will kill you) applies when the orthodox Muslim population is in a position of strength.
When the orthodox Muslim population is weak, then Muhammad’s earlier statement, in Mecca, “To you your religion and to me my religion,” is often what applies, because if the Muslims were to be belligerent and pursue jihad they would be crushed. So they promote the value of tolerance until they no longer need it to survive. Then they gradually and sometimes quickly dominate and grind non-Muslims down and destroy them.
CogitoErgoSum says
Koran 9:29 commands Muslims to FIGHT. The fight may take many different forms but the imperative is to fight always UNTIL the Jizya is submitted in a humble manner and the rule of Islam is acknowledged as the law of the land. Without the Jizya and the humble submission the fight is to continue and there is to be no peace. So says Allah and the Muslims must obey — whether in the majority or the minority of the population. Those are the minimum requirements for living in peace with Muslims — until the return of Isa.
John says
Surah 9:29 also negates the claim that Muslims may only fight when attacked. In fact one Muslims pointed out that attack was the best form of defense and that is the reason why Muslims claim that they only fight in defense. When referring to Surah 9:29 Muslims often claim that the context is the attack by the Byzantines on Muslims at the Battle of Tabuk. Problem with that is that no Battle of Tabuk ever took place, and there are no records that the Byzantines ever planned a battle against Muslims.

CEG has a good point: the only acceptable political arrangement with Allah is to have Muslims in charge. That’s what’s wrong with Israel. Western and Eastern Palestine were intentionally separated by the British Foreign Office into an Arab only zone that became Jordan and mixed zone that became Israel. If the Foreign Office had been less vacillating, and had gone full speed ahead with Jewish independence, we would not have had a century of this constant terrorism. The Arabs didn’t accept Israel mainly because they thought everything was negotiable based on warfare. Jihad-warfare is normative Islam and cannot be removed from Islam.
Islam cannot be ‘reformed’ to become a religion of peace. Islam is intrinsically the most warlike religion.

Its failed and will continue to fail
Because of zionism and ashkenazi racism…no surprise there. The solution
is to send them back to Europe from where they came…and have only came from!
Roland says
@Sabri, During recent centuries, tens of thousands of Muslim squatters from all over the Islamic world settled or deliberately settled in Ottoman, then British, Philistia. Why not send THEM back to Morocco, Central Asia, etc?

Sabri S. has said this before–that Muslims only want to destroy Israel because it is “racist”, and that Black and other dark-skinned Jews actually look forward to being raped and murdered by Muslims. Try again, creep.
Michael Lederman says
The only type of peaceful coexistence between Muslims and civilization would be for Israel to send the so called Palestinians to Jordan and be done with them. If they can’t act like humans treat them like garbage. It’s rather simple and will make for a much happier world.

Very good interview, RS!
The idea of the Islamic claims to Jerusalem on the basis of Mohammed’s ridiculous dream (the one in which he negotiated down the number of prayers in a day from 50 to 5) should be enough to laugh that one out of court, even the ICJ in the Hague. Also, it’s worth pointing out that after Mecca and Medina, the major Islamic cities were not Jerusalem, but rather, Damascus, Baghdad and Fustat/Cairo. If one wants to throw in the Shia sites, toss in Najaf, Karbala and Kufa.
Also, on the treaty of al Hudaybiyya, it’s not just the Palis who used it: in 2001, after 9/11, when President Musharraf addressed his nation, in that speech (in Urdu), he referenced the Treaty of al Hudaybiyya. And that’s exactly what the Pakis did as well, which is why Osama was discovered in Abbottabad. The only thing that is a wonder is that the Camp David agreement b/w Jerusalem and Cairo is still intact today, but it did come dangerously close to being ended when Morsi was president of Egypt
Only thing – for the possible alternative homelands for the Palis, I’d drop Lebanon, but include both Saudi Arabia as well as the Sinai peninsula in Egypt. The Sinai alone has an area larger than the West Bank and Gaza and can house those Palis. Besides, the Arab League needs to be pressurized to drop the ban on members naturalizing Palis who were refugees from 1948

I’m looking forward to reading this book.

You’re looking good, Robert. Looks like you’ve made a full recovery. I hope that’s the case.

+1. The book will be a world-changing contribution to logic and fact-based solutions.
The Pally nationality is about as much a hoax as Islam itself. Both the Pally hoax and the hoax of Islam were put together by government intelligence departments.
The Pally Hoax was the brainchild of Nicolai Ceausescu which he suggested to the Moscow head office of the KGB. They developed it and Arafat carried the ball.
Rob says
The Egyptians have entered into a ‘lasting’ land for peace deal with Egypt (Sinai courtesy of Sadat). But if al Sisi is deposed, it will be business as usual. Someone will likely step forward to replace Morsi from the Brotherhood. Be interesting to know who is coming into view. With the growing warmth between the Gulf States and Israel (facing Iran of course) I can’t see a pan-Arab armed force emerging again.
Funny is is Jordan with all it owes to the British Mandate, that is seemingly the most belligerent towards Israel at the moment. Maybe Iran is better entrenched there than I thought.
mortimer says
The Pally Hoax was created by the KGB as a Trojan horse operation to unite the West Bank, Jordan and Israel under one government and to unite Arab and Muslim countries with the Soviet Union in solidarity against the US, France and Britain. .
