“Those who targeted innocents in a mosque can never be true Muslim,” said Major General Asif Ghafoor.
As if, Asif. That’s why they were targeted. The people in the mosque were murdered because the murderer thought they were not true Muslims. If Major General Asif Ghafoor really wants to get to the heart of this problem, he must address the Sharia death penalty for heretics.
“Blast inside Quetta mosque claims 15 lives, injures 19,” by Syed Ali Shah and Ghalib Nihad AFP, January 10, 2020:
A blast inside a mosque in Quetta’s Satellite Town area during Friday evening prayers claimed 15 lives and left 19 people injured, Balochistan Home Minister Zia Langove confirmed.
According to Quetta Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abdul Razzaq Cheema and hospital sources, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amanullah and the mosque’s imam were among the deceased.
A senior police officer who asked not to be named told DawnNewsTV that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber….
Fida Mohammad, who was attending the Maghrib prayers, said about 60 people were present at the time of the attack on the mosque, located in Ghousabad neighbourhood.
The explosion ripped through the front row of worshippers seconds after the prayer began, he told AFP….
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing….
Meanwhile, the director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations, Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor, tweeted that Frontier Corps personnel had reached the blast site and were carrying out a search operation along with police. “Every possible assistance be given to police and civil administration,” the tweet quoted Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa as saying, adding that “those who targeted innocents in a mosque can never be true Muslim.”…
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, while condemning the incident, said that those who targeted worshippers have no religion or tribal affiliation. “They are only terrorists and deserve the harshest punishment,” he said, adding that state enemies are once again trying to create a law and order situation in Balochistan.
The chief minister said, however, that they will not let anyone destroy the hard-earned peace that had been achieved through the sacrifices of the armed forces and citizens.
Balochistan Home Minister Langove also condemned the blast, saying that “terrorists were scared of Pakistan’s development”.
“Internal and external enemies are making failed efforts to create panic and unrest in the country,” he said in a statement.
Langove vowed that “defeated terrorists will never be allowed to succeed”….
Yeah, we’ve heard that song before.
Mischief Maker in the Land says
Was the bomber a white supremacist from New Zealand?
Keys says
No, Mischief Maker in the Land, it was a group of Maoris. You know, the native Muslims from New Zealand.
Rarely says
Just build a wall around the muslim world and we can deal with the survivor. Unless, of course, there is no survivor because the last one was a suicide bomber.
tim gallagher says
Good comment, Rarely. It certainly gave me a laugh. Oh, if only we could (or rather, would be sensible enough ) do that. Yep, fence the rabid, endlessly violent Muslims off from the rest of us. It’s what Islam deserves for all the horrors it has carried out.

Islam *should* be isolated. We were largely safe when it was.

I was pottering around and I had a thought about Rarely’s clever comment about the last Muslim left blowing himself or herself up, being a suicide bomber, and I thought, I wonder if that last Muslim would have decided, Geez, I’m not a pure enough Muslim so I deserve to die, so I must blow myself up. Usually Muslim suicide bombers spend their time blowing up non-Muslims, but they also blow up and kill other Muslims who, in their opinion, just aren’t pure and devout enough. I certainly agree that it would be wonderful to isolate Muslims to protect the non-Muslims of the world. What a great idea.

Muslims never doubt themselves in that way. But the last Muslim might blow himself up in a “work accident” making a suicide vest thinking that there may have been one or two other survivors he’d missed.
tim gallagher says
That’s a good point, gravenimage. Yeah, I guess they generally don’t doubt themselves or go in for self-examination very much, that’s for sure. As you say, maybe a work accident would be a more likely occurrence.
Christopher Watson says
We allow in hundreds of thousands of muslim refugees every year into Europe, Britain, the USA, Canada and Australia. .The majority cannot work; they are not intellectually capable. They bring with them disgusting habits and customs. They cost us vast amounts of money. The Swedish social care system is at breaking point and the British NHS is under great pressure. When are we going to learn that we cannot be the worlds medical service. In the 21st century the west is basically giving the 3rd world everything. We have given trillions of dollars to Africa and the middle east in aid. What have they done with it? They’ve bought weapons and killed each other. Their societies have improved by negligible amounts, if at all. Nigeria, South Africa, Congo, Mozambique, Ethiopia and many more are failed states or soon will be. And our governments continually pour more money into their bank accounts.
don vito says
All good points, Watson. Channeling Sherlock.

Christopher, Muslim immigration into the US is down 90% under Trump. A good start.
mortimer says
Major General Asif Ghafoor’s opinion is not based on the SUNNA of Mohammed or the SUNNA of the ‘rightly-guided’ caliphs. All of them killed Muslims who were not ‘the right sort’ and Mohammed even destroyed mosques that he had not personally authorized.
We hear blanket opinions such as that be Major General Asif Ghafoor all the time, because Islam is DUALISTIC and often contains TWO SEPARATE opinions on any topic. The opinions come from Mohammed and Allah and so both are true even if they contract each other.
Islam’s dualism gives Muslim leaders the ability to speak out of both sides of their mouth.
A further quote in the article is just laughable!
Quote: “Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, while condemning the incident, said that those who targeted worshippers have no religion or tribal affiliation. “They are only terrorists and deserve the harshest punishment”
In other words, TERRORISM BY THE ‘WRONG SORT’ of Muslims is called ‘TERRORISM’, but jihad operations approved by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan are ‘JIHAD’.
Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan decides what is real JIHAD and what isn’t.
gravenimage says
Unfortunately, Mortimer, this *is* based on the Sunna of Mohammed–it is just that Major General Asif Ghafoor and the Mosque bombing Muslims have different opinions about who the non-real Muslims are.

Pakistan: Muslims murder 15 in jihad massacre at mosque during Friday prayers, victims were wrong kind of Muslim
…the tweet quoted Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa as saying, adding that “those who targeted innocents in a mosque can never be true Muslim.”…
……………….
The bombers don’t consider the Muslims in the Mosque to be true Muslims, and so they are fair game for Jihad–and the Muslims in the Mosque don’t consider the bombers to be true Muslims…
So much for that whole “peace of Islam” thing…

These savages have been murdering each other for centuries!
Linda Korrow says
Then we have the time the Iranians hit their own Shia mosque in Sumarra to kick off the Sectarian war in Iraq. Strange and savage people who kill their fellow human beings so easily, even other Muslims or their children (thinking of Iran clearing Iraqi mine fields with their own children so their soldiers could pass into Iraq). Number 1 priotity, keep them out of the free world. We should not feel obligated to take in enemies who practice totalitarianism. It ends in tragedy/ p. s., just bought Onward Muslim Soldiers . . .
