Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Security giant and telecoms provider sued over alleged ‘protection payments’ to Taliban jihadis in Afghanistan

Jan 3, 2020 4:00 pm By Robert Spencer

This is the very definition of dhimmitude. The non-Muslim enters the dhimma, or contract of protection, and pays money to the Muslims in exchange for the right to live as a non-Muslim, as long as he submits to Islamic hegemony.

“G4S and MTN sued over alleged ‘protection payments’ to terrorists in Afghanistan,” by Elliot Smith, CNBC, January 2, 2020:

U.K. security giant G4S and South African telecoms provider MTN are among six multinational corporations named in a U.S. lawsuit over alleged “protection payments” to terrorists in Afghanistan.

A complaint under the Anti-Terrorism Act was filed in a federal court in Washington D.C. on December 27 on behalf of 385 claimants, comprising U.S. military and civilian personnel injured or killed in terrorist attacks in Afghanistan between 2009 and 2017, and their loved ones. The plaintiffs span more than 100 service members killed and wounded during the period.

The complaint, filed by law firms Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick PLLC, Sparacino PLLC and Willkie, Farr & Gallagher LLP alleges that G4S Holdings International and its subsidiaries, MTN and four American corporations provided funding for the Taliban, Haqqani Network, Pakistani Taliban and their allies. All of these entities were part of an Al-Qaeda led terrorist syndicate, according to the filing.

The complaint alleges that the corporations either directly made, or turned a blind eye to, ‘protection payments’ to the terrorist organizations in order to preserve their business in Afghanistan and divert attacks away from their own business interests.

“We believe that the evidence will show that by making “protection payments” to the Taliban, the defendants knew or recklessly disregarded that their corrupt payments would help fund attacks against Americans in Afghanistan,” a statement published on the website of Sparacino PLLC said.

South African telecoms giant MTN, Africa’s largest mobile operator, was also the biggest mobile operator in Afghanistan at the time….

This is how terrorism works, “I will make life miserable for you, your family and your employees unless you pay me”. It’s called extortion. Muhammad added religion. Highway theft/murder/rape etc. were now called Jihad and protection money was renamed Jizya.

    ……………………

Yes–dhimmitude in action. How many of us are paying part of this Jizya with our utility bills?

That a “security giant” is doing the same is ironic in the extreme.

The real problem was the very idea of trying to modernize Afghanistan. Why does there need to be communications lines b/w, say, Kabul and Herat? The Afghan were doing fine w/o it, and if they want, let them have other countries like Iran, Malaysia, China, et al build up their infrastructure for them – since they can’t do their own.

Besides, telecom is an example of bida, which Muslims are supposed to avoid. And Afghanistan got a constitution where no law can contradict islam. So why not just let them determine whether telecom is Islamic or not, and if not, let them lay their own cables.
