During the Obama administration, America completely lost its way in defending itself against the global jihad. The Iran Deal was a joke and clearly Iran should have never been trusted. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action can be likened to a fox being entrusted with guarding the henhouse. It was a glaring demonstration of incompetence. Trump’s withdrawal from the deal and his subsequent sanctions on this rogue state have largely frustrated Iran’s efforts to construct a nuclear weapon, as well as to fund its jihadist proxies. Now:
Following Iran’s proclamation that it would no longer abide by the terms of its nuclear deal (JCPOA), Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called for a “Trump Deal” to replace the failed Obama era agreement.
In September 2017, according to the commander of U.S. Strategic Command Air Force, General John Hyten, Iran was “rapidly deploying and developing a whole series of ballistic missiles and testing ballistic missiles of all ranges that provide significant concerns not just to the United States but our allies.” And then in July, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei vowed that Iran would “continue violating the nuclear deal until European powers meet Tehran’s demands.” Khamenei was raging against the UK for “seizing an oil tanker that was violating European sanctions against shipping oil to Syria,” and threatened retaliation.
In 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered proof that the Iran nuclear deal was based on lies, when he “revealed a cache of documents” that proved that “Iran lied to the world about its nuclear program for years, even after the 2015 nuclear deal with the world.”
“Boris Johnson Says ‘Trump Deal’ Should Replace Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal,” by Kurt Zindulka, Breitbart, January 14, 2020:
Following Iran’s proclamation that it would no longer abide by the terms of its nuclear deal (JCPOA), Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called for a “Trump Deal” to replace the failed Obama era agreement.
Hailing President Donald Trump’s negotiating skills, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom called on President Trump to craft a replacement deal and deescalate tensions with Iran.
“If we’re going to get rid of it, let’s replace it, and let’s replace it with the Trump deal,” Johnson said in an interview with the BBC,.
“President Trump is a great deal maker, by his own account and by many others’. Let’s work together to replace the JCPOA and get the Trump deal instead”, Johnson said.
“From the American perspective, it’s a flawed agreement, it expires, plus it was negotiated by President Obama. From their point of view it has many, many faults,” he explained.
“I don’t want a military conflict between us, the United States and Iran, let’s dial this thing down.”
Earlier this month Iran formally announced that it would no longer abide by the terms of the deal negotiated by the Obama administration in 2015, in which the United States delivered $1.7 billion in cash to it.
The Islamic Republic claimed that all of its actions across the Middle East have been in line with the JCPOA, bolstering President Trump’s assertion that the deal was inadequate to prevent its theocratic regime from sponsoring terrorism throughout the region and working to acquire nuclear arms.
Last week the government of the United Kingdom signalled that in light of Iran’s recent proclamations, Britain may pull out of the Iran nuclear deal — following the lead of President Trump, who exited the deal in 2018.
“We’ve obviously been committed to the JCPOA, but we’ve reached a point where non-compliance has been so acute in the most recent steps taken by Iran that obviously we’re going to be looking very hard at what should happen next… We want to see Iran come back to full compliance.” said British Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary Dominic Raab.
President Trump has called upon the governments of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia, and China to abandon the “very defective” deal.
“They must now break away from the remnants of the Iran deal -– or JCPOA –- and we must all work together toward making a deal with Iran that makes the world a safer and more peaceful place. We must also make a deal that allows Iran to thrive and prosper, and take advantage of its enormous untapped potential. Iran can be a great country”, he said….

Without a clear understanding of the foundational texts of Islam and Shi’ism, how could the Obama administration know what to expect.
For openers, the teaching about TAQIYYA (sacred lying to advance Islam) has its greatest advocates and practitioners in Shi’ite Iran.
Without a clear knowledge of TAQIYYA, Americans are like children playing poker with an experience card-shark.

Mortimer–with all respect–I have to disagree. American presidents had enough sense for decades to keep Iran isolated–you don’t even have to understand much about Islam to realize this is wise–just look at their behavior.
This was more about Obama enabling the enemies of the West.
Terry Gain says
There is no point in making a deal with the Mad Mullahs. Keep squeezing Iran until the people rise up and overthrow the government. If Iran appears to be on the verge of having a nuclear weapon, bomb their nuclear facilities. Stop deluding yourself about Islam.

Agreed, Terry.. Even it the Iranian population is not apt to overthrow the Mullahs, this will at least keep them destabilized and less able to attack Israel and the West.
Dawne says
Yup, agreed.
Peter Dale says
The only deal possible here is one backed up by the credible threat to use force. Mr Trump has shown the Mullahs that he is prepared to use it. What would be the deal? The only one possible is for one allowing the Mullahs to skedaddle to another country– perhaps France or Germany or Sweden. Nothing short of this has any chance of success.

Muslims are not going to abandon a part of the world they conquered centuries ago. Peter.

Obama and Kerry were such an unrealistic deluded fools if they actually, really, felt that there was any actual value of that “deal” with that tyrannical “mullah regime” of Iran .When ,Obama and Kerry in their folly attempted work out a compromise with those Muslim tyrants in power in Iran only had an awful results, This was outcome of foolishly trying to work out a compromise resulted that the hoax and farce of a “deal.” A former US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt , had well-spoken when he said “There has never been – there never can be – successful compromise between good and evil.”

………………
Good to hear from Boris Johnson, one of the few generally sane leaders in the West today.
But I think we should return to having no dealings at all with the vicious Mullahs–this makes the most sense.
The unexpected voice says
But I’m still not trust him sometimes he seems pro-Turkey.

Boris Johnson is still better than most of the leaders in the West.
Marie Moret says
Boris Johnson is a globalist and despises the US, anyone delusional enough to dismiss his own intent to sabotage Brexit, his contempt for the British people, his joining with Trudeau, Macron and others to mock Trump shouldn’t be countenanced. Johnson wants to dupe Trump into some Iran deal that would please Johnson’s cronies.

Actually, Boris Johnson has been pretty pro-Trump, especially by European standards.
