The real problem the Catholic Church has is not the spurious neologism “Islamophobia,” but a fantasy-based Islamophilia that denies obvious reality and is ruthlessly enforced, as the case of T.J. Joseph demonstrates.
Jordan Denari Duffner of Georgetown University’s Saudi-funded Bridge Initiative is either spectacularly naive or outrageously deceptive or both; in all her writings, including the article below, she completely ignores the reality of jihad violence and the violent exhortations in the Qur’an and Sunnah, and continuously writes as if Muslims were victims of widespread discrimination and harassment in the U.S., which they are not and should not be, and that any examination of the motivating ideology behind that jihad violence is tantamount to inciting violence against innocent Muslims.
In her book Finding Jesus among Muslims: How Loving Islam Makes Me a Better Catholic, Duffner even laments the “Islamophobia” of a Christian family in Jordan she stayed with as an exchange student, claiming they picked it up from Christian television channels and not from their lived experience, which she assumes would have given them a positive impression of Islam: “Despite the fact that they lived among Muslims — who are the vast majority of the population in Jordan — my Christian host family bought into these Christian TV channels’ negative portrayals of Islam.”
The article below is full of the usual nonsense, chiefly the familiar conflation of criticizing Islamic teaching or opposing jihad violence with failing to respect or esteem Muslims as human beings. The effect of this articles and the others that the Bridge Initiative churns out will be to inhibit (even more than it is already) honest discussion of the motives and goals of jihad terrorists, and of the nature of Sharia, and to stigmatize all resistance to it.
In this article Duffner also identifies me as one of the “popular voices who write about Islam for Catholics.” I don’t. I write about Islam for anyone and everyone, and am relieved and grateful to say, in this fantasy- and lie-ridden age when the likes of Pope Francis and Jordan Denari Duffner are in the ascendancy, that I am not a Catholic.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“A priest’s anti-Muslim comments reveal US Catholics’ Islamophobia problem,” by Jordan Denari Duffner, Religion News Service, February 13, 2020:
(RNS) — On a day in which pastors were encouraged to remind their flocks of the Christian duty to “welcome the stranger,” a Catholic priest in Minnesota used the opportunity to sow fear and suspicion about Muslims.
Calling Islam “the greatest threat” to Christianity and to America, the Rev. Nick VanDenBroeke argued that Muslim immigration to the United States should be curtailed…
The whole incident is reflective of a deeper problem — the discrepancy between the church’s positive official teaching on Muslims and the Islamophobia that often permeates U.S. Catholic communities and discourse.
In its 1965 “Declaration on Non-Christian Religions,” issued during the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic Church begins by declaring its high esteem and respect for Muslims. The document continues by outlining some of the many similarities Muslims share with Christians, including belief in the one, merciful God who has spoken to humanity; reverence for common figures like Jesus and Mary; and practices like regular prayer, fasting and almsgiving. It then urges Catholics and Muslims around the world to seek mutual understanding and work together to create peace and establish justice.
The most important aspect of the church’s statement about Muslims is the first line — the teaching that we are to treat Muslims with respect and hold them in high regard. In other words, as Catholics our default attitude toward Muslims is to be a positive one. This also extends to how we are to view and engage with others’ religious traditions…
The idea that Islam is “the greatest threat” — as VanDenBroeke put it in his homily — has been promoted widely for years in Catholic publications. As I wrote in the Bridge report “Danger and Dialogue,” the description of Islam as “threat” has been one of the most consistent themes in the work of popular voices who write about Islam for Catholics, like Robert Spencer and Scott Hahn, whose publications often appear on the shelves of Catholic bookstores or in Catholic media outlets.
A nonprofit called the Turning Point Project, which supports the writing of another author, William Kilpatrick, is exclusively dedicated to “educating Catholics and other Americans about the threat from Islam.”
In 2014, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops released a statement about dialogue with Muslims, noting that, “Sadly, in recent years, there has been a deliberate rejection of this call to engage in dialogue with our Muslim brothers and sisters by some in the Catholic Church and in other ecclesial families.”…

Makes one wonder whether this catholic woman has read either the Bible or the Quran-in that they contradict one another. So she cannot, possibly, be a true follower of Christ. Catholic, perhaps, but not Christian.
The central message of the Bible focuses upon the Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ (God in human flesh), from Genesis to the Revelation.
Conversely, Allah (crescent, idol god of Islam) has no son and is, by his own testimony in the Quran, Satan in disguise.
Jesus said Satan comes to ‘kill, steal and destroy’ (John 10: 10-which is entirely consistent with the tenets, demands and history of Islam-as dictated by the Quran).
But Jesus came to give life more abundantly to those who receive Him as Savior and Lord.
One cannot believe and follow both. Only one, or the other, can be true. Jesus claimed to be the only way to the One True God. John 14: 6 So He is either a liar, a lunatic or He is Lord!
Trick_or_Treat says
Well, here’s a newsflash for her: islam (and by it’s own doctrinal affirmation) certrainly does NOT ‘love’ her or our Gospel of Christ.
Has this deluded person (and whatever ‘followers’ she has in the Roman Catholic Cult) ever actually read this disgusting murderous doctrine (the qur’an)?
Christ Himself has warned us of the advent of such false teachers and false prophets, and their damnable heresies, deceiving many. And it seems the Granddaddy of them all has now come to roost in the ‘big chair’ of their cult. They have a short time, they shall all be dealt with soon.
Yes, and Matthew 15:14 certainly applies.

1965 Vatican II on Non-Christian Religions:
“The Council states the Church’s high regard for Muslims, because they worship “God, who is one, living and subsistent, merciful and almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth” and they strive to do His will.”
https://www.catholicculture.org/commentary/vatican-ii-on-non-christian-religions/
So, 55 years after Vatican II, we now have a Pope that is a muslim apologist or, in fact, an actual closet muslim…
Wellington says
This is why, James, I consider Pope John XXIII (1958-1963) one of the most foolish Popes in history. He called Vatican II and this Council did not need to be called. By contrast, Pope Paul III {1534-1549} was eminently correct in calling the Council of Trent {1545-1563}, which ecumenical council should have been called earlier by Leo X {1513-1521}, Adrian VI {1522-1523} or Clement VII {1523-1534}.
Indeed, this last ecumenical council (Vatican II) has caused enormous damage. John XXIII attempted to fix something that wasn’t broken (just imagine if the Catholic Church were still pre-Vatican II in all ways—what a boon to Western Civilization if so) and trying to fix something that isn’t broken is just about as foolish as a person can be.
Pope Francis is a symptom. Pope John is the cause. Causes are even more culpable than symptoms. To Hell with Francis but also to Hell with Pope John—he did enormous harm and we’re still living with it.

One who claims to be Christian and yet says such foolish and ignorant things…while condemning those who speak the Truth about islam… is giving proof that he/she is not Christian. No true Christian would proclaim, “I love the” filthy book of islam, a book that promotes the worst of all possible kinds of animalistic/demonic behavior, from rape of babies to murder of one’s own family and hatred for and murder of strangers…while lying about all of it.
One cannot “love the” filthy book of islam and at the same time, love God. One cannot tell lies about islam and the conduct and teachings of moslims, and with the same tongue proclaim their Christianity…without that being a lie too.
moslims are not doing the will of our Creator, and are not “striving” to do so. moslims are followers and worshippers of God’s arch enemy, satan the devil. moslims lie about Jesus Christ and present God as One Who commands killing, rape, theft, extortion and arrogance, all of which are the very opposite of what God wishes, and even commands, men and women to do.
“Humble yourselves before the mighty hand of God, and He will exalt you.” What moslim has been known to follow this one Bible command? What moslim has been known to “Love your neighbor as you so love yourself”? “Speak truth with one another,” is another simple command from God. What moslim is known for this, without also using lies to promote the worship of God’s chief enemy, satan?
“Be modest in walking with your God,” we are told. moslims pretend that the females among them are “modest” because they wear scarves that completely cover the head and neck. But these pieces of cloth are worn, not in modesty, but in arrogance and a feeling that even the female moslim is a higher creature…though she can be walked on as dirt by the males…than any non moslim, esp females who are viewed as targets for rape, with no respect ever shown.
Respect islam? Respect moslims? No way on God’s green earth or under His heaven.

This may well be true, but many Islamic women wear them out of fear, i.e., they are also a sign of oppression as many women have been killed or imprisoned for refusing to wear them. It is disgusting to see “hijab days” where non-Muslim women join Muslim women in wearing the hijab as sign of unity. They are completely ignorant of the violence that is associated with the hijab.

Of course, we all know that the women in iran, afghanstan, arabia, etc. are forced to wear the head covering or risk severe punishment up to and including death. Some young girls have been murdered in the U.S. because their male relatives caught them not wearing.
But…and this was what I was meaning…moslims such as the rep for islam in Congress, and many who belong to cair, and moslims such as linda cockroach wear them as a signal that they are ***better*** than women who do not bow to the beast of islam. But, they call it being “modest” while also claiming it gives them “power and agency.”
You are certainly right about the idiot women donning a scarf and parading around as if they are *one* with all moslim women who **choose to wear.** It’s too easy to forget that millions do not choose, but are forced to wear.
James Whitney says
I agree that the Muslim women in congress and many who belong to CAIR do, indeed, wear the hijab as a sign of power and privilege. I would argue that these women are “cafeteria” Islamic believers. In particular, Islam is not only a religion, but also a political system that prescribes conquest of non-believers, i.e. theocracy is fundamental in true Islam. These particular Muslim women have bought into the political and conquest aspects of Islam, while completely ignoring the roll of women as outlined in the Qur’an and handed down from Muhammed. They are power seekers.

She loves the koran…?
Ah what a sweetheart!
What is not to love about allah’s “perfect” book?
The teachings that violate the EXODUS 20 laws, the missing Golden Rule, the antisemitism, the antichristianity, the EPIC theology fail of koran 5:116?
But did she not conduct a “proper reading ” of the koran like Imam Bergoglio boasted about:you know where he COMPLETELY MISSED the 164 Jihadi Verses, the Denial of Jesus in koran 4:157/4:171,failed to notice how allah gets the Theology of the Trinity spectacularly wrong by informing us that he thinks those polytheistic Christians believe that MARY-yes that’s right,MARY..is in the Trinity ,alongside Jesus and allah{koran 5:116}?
And then he tells us that the koran is” opposed to every form of violence”and that allah is the same as the Christian God when Logically and Theologically this is absolutely impossible{denial of Jesus Crucifixion,denial of the Holy Spirit etc}
Surely a “proper” reading is not beyond the capacities of a jesuit or a dhimmi Christian?
Did she miss the fact that..?
The koran CURSES Christians for believing in Jesus Christ {koran 9:30}
The koran says Jews and Christians are “the WORST of created beings” {koran 98:6}
The koran says muslims must NOT be friends with Jews and Christians{koran 5:51}
islam’s Doctrine of HATE{al walaa wal baraa} along with allah completely missing the Golden Rule means that there is none of that “Love thy Neighbor” stuff in islam which is a Second CHIEF[!!} commandment of the Actual God{Lev19:18} which allah the champion deceiver k3;54 and his muslims don’t subscribe to.
After Lefty Jews, smiley, naive dhimmitwit simpleminded ,dopey Christians come a close second for their wilful denial of reality.

Hi, FYI. Your reference to “the EPIC theology fail of koran 5:116” led me to look it up at
http://corpus.quran.com/translation.jsp?chapter=5&verse=116 :
“And when God said, ‘O Jesus son of Mary, didst thou say unto men, “Take me and my mother as gods, apart from God”?’ He said, ‘To Thee be glory! It is not mine to say what I have no right to. If I indeed said it, Thou knowest it, knowing what is within my soul, and I know not what is within Thy soul; Thou knowest the things unseen”
I’d be happy just to understand what this passage — with its quotes within quotes — is trying to say. Couldn’t a Supreme Being of the Universe figure out how to write in a clearer way? Who is talking to whom? Who is the “thou”? Is Allah saying that he has no right to say certain things? What kind of theology is that? Who is forbidding Allah from saying what? And is Allah supposed to have a soul? That a pretty innovative tenet (bida).
FYI says
@Mark spahn
The expert to ask would be somebody like David Wood on YT.
I am not a Theologian but it is just something seriously wrong with the koran.muslims idiotically think Christians are polytheists.Even in the years when i was an atheist I understood the Christian Trinity to be monotheistic, not a polytheism of 3 separate gods.
The fact is ,that the Holy Spirit is MISSING in the koran and in islam.
In 2 Peter 1 it is stated that the Holy Spirit is required to understand prophecy but since it is missing in islam then it means islam’s “prophet” would not have had access to this source of wisdom which explains a lot;why the koran is full of errors etc.
Bob Thompson says
Pardon the intrusion, but I find it hard to believe that Muslims can embrace and practice Islam’s dualistic ethics but can’t grasp the monotheism of Christianity.
gravenimage says
Muslims believe that Christians are “polytheists” because it suits them to do so.
gravenimage says
Mark, this is the “Muslim Jesus”–really, the “prophet Isa”–assuring “Allah” that he has never told men to take his mother and himself as gods as Christians believe (never mind that this is not really what Christians believe in the first place).
But “prophet Isa” would say to “Allah” if asked that “Allah” has all the glory, not himself, and that he has no right to any of “Allah’s” glory (i.e, that he is not the Son of God).
And that, further, “Allah” would have known if “prophet Isa” had ever said anything like that.
The Qur’an is full of this kind of condemning of Christians for their beliefs–and for beliefs that Muslims falsely believe they hold.
James Whitney says
“And then he tells us that the koran is” opposed to every form of violence”and that allah is the same as the Christian God when Logically and Theologically …”
There are a number of peaceful passages in the Qur’an, but they were written early. Later versus became more and more violent, corresponding to Muhammed’s increasing conquest success. Further confusion can be found because the Qur’an is written with the longest passages presented first. Thus, the order of passages does not reflect the writing timeframe.

To roughly paraphrase a quote from Hilaire Belloc, in the early 20th C.: It could be argued that the fact that the Catholic Church still exists after 2,000 years, when there have been many times when it was led by scoundrels, knaves and miscreants, could of itself suggest divine origins.
I am a Catholic. I love my Church, and I am so thankful for the many saints and martyrs who have witnessed, by their lives and deaths, the love of Christ Jesus and His Kingship. I have a personal relationship with Jesus, and I am so thankful for His mercy and forgiveness when I stumble and fall.
God’s ways are not our ways, and why the Holy Spirit would have Francis as our Pope at this time, I do not know. Even though I respect him because he is the pope, that does not mean that I have to accept or agree with everything he says or writes. Papal Infallibility is something that is rarely applied. I am free to disagree with him, and on many, many things I do. My heart aches when I see him ignore the plight of persecuted Christians around the world. I feel he betrayed the underground Church in China. There are many more areas of deep concern, as well. Yet, there are many informed Catholics who are speaking up.
Whether it is naïveté or willful ignorance on the part of this young woman, I don’t know. It is very distressing to see Catholic institutions like Georgetown succumb to the lure of Arab money, and surrender their mantles as true institutions of higher learning. The Catholic Church is so much more than the pope. We, the faithful, are the members of the Body of Christ We are not going away, and we are joined in the fight with all of our brothers and sisters, other Christians, Jews and all others, against any and all forces that would try to destroy Western Civilization.

I think we can change the environment where no one will be able to say they dont know the truth about Islam.
How?
By posting good solid reasons to oppose Islam in every post or every thread topic discussion.
Eventually, the irrelevant reasons will disappear from the broad spectrum of debate and only the real and pertinent reasons will remain.
And when that occurs then people will no longer be able to say they didnt know the truth.
Here is my good solid reason.
Because if there are enough Muslims in the society, even if they appear to be “moderate,” the installation of Sharia is the goal.
And under Sharia life would suck for all who were not Muslim and we would be coerced into converting against our will.
Under this system, Male Muslims have the most power. Women and non Muslims are lower on the pecking order.
Forget your ideas about equality.
Here is Iranian author and speaker, Amir Taheri.
Amir Taheri: “Islam Is Incompatible With Democracy”
“Lest us return to the issue of equality.
The idea is unacceptable to Islam.
For the non-believer cannot be the equal of the believer.
Even among the believers only those who subscribe to the three so-called Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam ( Ahl el-Kitab) are regarded as fully human.
Here is the hierarchy of human worth in Islam:
At the summit are free male Muslims
Next come Muslim male slaves
Then come free Muslim women
Next come Muslim slave women.
Then come free Jewish and /or Christian men
Then come slave Jewish and/or Christian men
Then come slave Jewish and/or Christian women.
Each category has rights that must be respected.”

An hour or so later, I was banned.
What that taught me is that I can not trust ANYONE ONLINE AT ALL ANYMORE.

“The article below is full of the usual nonsense, chiefly the familiar conflation of criticizing Islamic teaching or opposing jihad violence with failing to respect or esteem Muslims as human beings.”
……
This is very sad. Good grief. Why are we required to respect or have esteem for Muslims. I refuse to do so as a matter of principle and I make no apologies for my antipathy for the adherents of this evil ideology.

Thank you dum dum Jordan Denari Duffner. Because of this one bit muzzie lover and thanks to Robert Spencer, I’m tuning into William Kilpatrick and Scott Hann. I can’t believe I haven’t focused on their writings that much before now.
Aussie Infidel says
Jordan Denari Duffner of Georgetown University proclaims, “I’m Christian and I LOVE the Qur’an”. Only a dhimmified academic could make such a fatuous claim. Has Ms Duffner been taking dawa classes by her friendly local imam? Or is becoming an apologist for Islam an integral part of her PhD at a Saudi funded university?
Specifically, what part of the Quran does Duffner love? The part that tells Muslims to, “Fight in the cause of Allah” (Quran 2:190)? Or “kill the unbelievers wherever you overtake them” (2:191)? Or “Fight them until there is no more opposition (to Islam), and everyone worships Allah” (2:193)? Or “Whoever desires a religion other than Islam – never will it be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers” (3:85)? Or “Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other … and righteous women are devoutly obedient etc” (4:34)? Or “It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion” (48:28)? Or “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the unbelievers, merciful among themselves” (48:29)? Or “We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone” (60:4)? Or “If you claim that you are allies of Allah … then wish for death” (62:6)? Or “The Jews and Christians are the worst of people and will abide in the fire of Hell” (98:6)?
Is Duffner aware that the word ‘Islamophobia’ was deliberately concocted by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), to denigrate and silence anyone who criticises Islam? A phobia is an irrational fear of something, usually quite benign. But for Non-Muslims, being afraid of Islam isn’t a phobia; it’s a perfectly justified fear, because Muslims have been indoctrinated with hatred and commanded to kill them.
Does Duffner know that since ‘9/11’ there have been over 36,000 deadly attacks around the world by Muslim jihadists against ‘unbelievers’? Or that over 100,000 people have been killed in these attacks and the number wounded or maimed is more than half a million? What apologies would she offer for such horrific acts?
https://thereligionofpeace.com/.
Duffner is a Christian and claims she loves the Quran. Perhaps she has only read the initial Meccan verses – which have all been abrogated. I’m an atheist and hate the Quran – because it is devoid of empathy, and full of pathological hatred and violence toward those who do not agree with its criminal ideology.
How could anyone – particularly a Christian woman, who presumably has been raised to believe in the Ten Commandments and abide by the Golden Rule – love a book which commands its followers to do exactly the opposite? Unless of course, she is simply a gullible fool?
Wake up Ms Duffner, you’ve no doubt been duped by Muslim propaganda. Make no mistake, there will be no peace from Islam until it subjugates all other religions, and Sharia law rules the world. And even then, the various Islamic sects will continue to fight each other, because they believe only their pathetic view of the world is the ‘true’ religion.
Islam and its Quran have no place in a civilized society.

Denari Duffner is a long-time apologist for Islam. Here’s her bio at the Bridge Initiative:
She is the author of Finding Jesus among Muslims: How Loving Islam Makes Me a Better Catholic (2017), and her forthcoming book on Islamophobia is slated for publication in 2020. A former Fulbright researcher in Amman, Jordan, she has written for numerous publications, including the Washington Post, TIME, and America. In 2016, Jordan authored the Bridge Initiative report, ‘Danger and Dialogue: American Catholics Perceptions and Portrayals of Islam,’ which included the first nationwide survey of Catholics’.
The whole purpose of the “Bridge Initiative” is to flog “Islamophobia”.

WHAT IS THE EVIDENCE THAT ISLAM IS BENIGN? Let’s turn the tables on the slanderers. Let’s challenge the people who make the slanderous claim of ‘ISLAMOPHOBIA’.
The name-callers have the BURDEN OF PROOF, namely, to produce evidence for their fantasy-claim that Islam is benign towards disbelievers. Where are the quotes from Mohammed and the Koran that demonstrate Islam promotes CO-EXISTENCE? And where are examples in Islamic history that show KAFIRS were equal members of an Islamic, Sharia-society?
Such quotes and historical examples are unavailable.
Let’s challenge the people who claim of Islamophobia to produce evidence that Islam is egalitarian, tolerant and benign.
Bob Thompson says
We can start to eliminate this type of ignorance by posting GOOD SOLID REASONS for opposing Islam.
If the Catholic in the picture knew that Islam does not believe in the premise that ALL men are created equal, maybe she would not love the Koran so much (at all?).
Would she agree that Male Muslims are worth more than Female Catholics?

“Hate Can Be a Virtue
Progressives talk a lot about the evil of hate. We are told that if we object to Sharia law and jihad, then we are intolerant haters. But what about hating harms people?
I hate wife-beating, yet the Sharia, Koran and Sunna support it.
I am intolerant of child abuse, including child marriage, but the Sunna and Sharia support it.
I hate the jihadist killings of Christians, Jews, Buddhists and apostates.
I am intolerant of religious leaders, such as the Pope and Dai Lama, who will not condemn the jihadic killing of their groups.
I hate dualistic ethics, which lack integrity.
I am intolerant of face coverings, since it cuts off open communication.
As a society, we have lost the ability to become morally outraged and are incapable of anger about the Islamic harm of innocents. I hate that.”

UN figures clearly show the WORST countries for: corruption, breaching basic Human Rights, ignoring completely Women’s Rights, Paedophilia, FGM, slavery etc. in fact ALL of the most depraved Human conduct imaginable, the ones occupying the most places at the top of the League are MUSLIM! With great respect and admiration for those of you who are inquisitive and well read scholars who are committed to understanding this stuff, I believe if stopping Islamization depends on Americans reading and digesting complex texts, suras and scriptures and being well versed in Christianity and becoming religious scholars and understanding the Islamic Trilogy, we are doomed.
LOLOL
That is why I believe, so many Americans are so ignorant of the problem of Islamization and why so many are able to pretend to be ignorant.
We have done a poor job of giving the common man good solid robust, understandable, and easy to prove and defend reasons to oppose Islam.

Fair fax County, Virginia, Imam Shaker Elsayed of the Dar Al-Hijra Islamic Center, preaches about the love in Islam:
Female Genital Mutilation: “The honourable thing for girls” to prevent “ hypersexuality”
“In societies where circumcision of girls is completely prohibited, hypersexuality takes over the entire society, and a woman is not satisfied with one person, or two, or three.”
He preached about cutting the tip of the sexual part of the girl, so she is not hypersexual and it is haram if this procedure is done wrong and leaves her cool or cold toward sex.
Shari’ah law a man may have 4 wives and sex slaves.
Another day, another sermon:
He warned Palestinians against making a peace agreement with Israel because, “They will not deal with you fairly and squarely.” he went on to say “The children of Israel have harsh hearts and were responsible for killing prophets.”
This is the same mosque where Imam / Al-Qaeda leader Anwar Al-Awlaki preached from his loving Qur’an.
Kohmanie:
“I spit on the souls of those who say Islam is a religion of Peace. He loves his Qur’an.
Sheikh Ahmed Badran:
“Once Muslims come to power, they will never allow infidels to rule over Muslims”. he loves his Qur’an.
Revered, Muslim scholar, Sayyid Qutb:
“Islam cannot accept any mixing with Jahiliyyah, either in its concept or in the modes of living which are derived from this concept. either Islam will remain, or Jahiliyyah: Islam cannot accept or agree to a situation which is half-Islam and half-Jahiliyyah.”
“The foremost duty of Islam in this world is to depose Jahiliyyah from the leadership of man, and to take the leadership into its own hands and enforce a particular way of life which is a permanent feature.”
“Islam does not sanction the rule of selfish desires. It has come to abolish all concepts, laws, customs and traditions, and to replace them with a new concept of human life, to create a new world on the foundation of SUBMISSION to the Creator. He loved his Qur’an.
Sex, oppression and power.

I wonder how familiar Ms. Duffner is with the many troublesome verses in the Qur’an. Here are a few examples that are only a tip of the iceberg.
Qur’an 3:85
Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the hereafter he will be one of the losers.
Qur’an 5:51
O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you, then indeed, he is one of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.
Qur’an 5:60
Say: Shall I tell you who will receive a worse reward from God? Those whom God has cursed and with whom He has been angry, transforming them into apes and swine, and those who serve the devil. Worse is the plight of these and they have strayed farther from the right path.
Qur’an 9:30 (Those who believe that Jesus is God’s Son are accursed)
The Jews call ‘Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!
Qur’an 4:34
Men are the managers of the affairs of women for that Allah has preferred in bounty one of them over another, and for that they have expended of their property. Righteous women are therefore obedient, guarding the secret for Allah’s guarding. And those you fear may be rebellious admonish; banish them to their couches, and beat them. If they then obey you, look not for any way against them; Allah is All-high, All-great.
tim gallagher says
Islam is the complete opposite of Christianity and Islam hates and wants to destroy Christianity and every other religion apart from Islam. Islam is vicious and violent while Christianity has peaceful ideals. Does this idiot know that Muslims are murdering Christians every day, especially in Africa? But then again, the Pope doesn’t seem to know or care about those murders either. Some people are just too stupid or too naïve to cope with life. That’s the only conclusion I can come up with when I come across people like the one in this report. I guess most people would ignore these fools , but their stupidity is dangerous and helps the cause of evil Islam by claiming it is not a danger to us all.
Bob Thompson says
In my time doing this I have seen apologists for Islam cite the hateful, bloody violent parts of the Bible to counter the assertions of Islamic violence.
Then the debaters for Christianity say that Christians have grown beyond those violent passages to reform, if you will, our religion. And then someone, usually a non Muslim apologist will say that Islam can be reformed. And that is false. It can not be reformed because the Koran is “perfect” and MUST NOT BE CHANGED.
The end of that discussion rests with how the respective deities left the Earth.
In the last ten years of Mohammed’s life, he personally is said to have participated in 100 acts of bloody killing and violence against his enemies, i.e. non believers.
On the other hand, Jesus’ marching orders to his followers was to love one another.
