“World Vision International, an international evangelical Christian humanitarian aid, development, and advocacy charity that is active in nearly 100 countries paid funds to a Sudan-based organization, the Islamic Relief Agency (IRA), that allegedly provided financial support to the late Osama bin Laden.”
This news is compounded by an NGO Monitor report about World Vision:
- According to World Vision, “Our work in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories remains one of the most challenging places where we operate, and one of the most difficult for children. That’s why we have been there for more than 40 years.”
- Promotes a highly politicized and biased agenda, placing sole blame for the continuation of the conflict on Israel and paying little attention to legitimate Israeli security concerns or Palestinian terrorism against Israeli civilians. This includes calling the security barrier “illegal,” ignoring the fact that the barrier was built in the wake of the second intifada in which Israeli civilians were the targets of near daily suicide bombings.
And how does World Vision justify its anti-Israel bias?
We are Christian: “We seek to follow Jesus — in his identification with the poor, the powerless, the afflicted, the oppressed, and the marginalized … in his challenge to unjust attitudes and systems; in his call to share resources with each other …”
Unfortunately, truths including Israel’s history, justice, the history of jihad and the Palestinian leadership’s aim to obliterate Israel since 1948 are of little concern to a group which claims to “follow Jesus.”
This isn’t the first time World Vision has been implicated in promoting jihad terror. The Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs and Public Diplomacy reported:
World Vision is a well-established international Christian relief organization that has operations in the Palestinian Authority and the Gaza Strip. Hamas’s military wing recruited Mohammed Halabi in 2005, and in 2010 Halabi became Regional Manager of World Vision in Gaza until he was arrested in 2016. During this time, Halabi took advantage of his position and transferred aid, equipment and relief packages sent by World Vision to Hamas, which were used to pay the salaries of Hamas operatives, and support the
construction of terror tunnels and Hamas’ military buildup. Approximately 60% of the NGO’s Gaza branch’s annual budget was transferred to Hamas.
There are still those who argue for Halabi’s innocence, but the Religion News Service reported in 2016 that “the Shin Bet said in a statement that Mohammed El Halabi admitted to being a Hamas activist.”
“Evangelical Charity Knowingly Funded Group Sanctioned For Funding Terrorism,” by Adelle Nazarian, Daily Caller, January 31, 2020:
World Vision International, an international evangelical Christian humanitarian aid, development, and advocacy charity that is active in nearly 100 countries paid funds to a Sudan-based organization, the Islamic Relief Agency (IRA), that allegedly provided financial support to the late Osama bin Laden.
The U.S. Department of Treasury sanctioned Islamic Relief in 2004 for giving support to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda’s Sudanese affiliate. Islamic Relief goes by several acronyms namely, IRA, ISRA and IARA.
Cliff Smith, Washington Director for the Middle East Forum, and Sam Westrop, Director of the Islamist Watch Program at the Middle East Forum, revealed their findings in an interview with The Investigative Journal this week. In February 2014, World Vision received a grant of over $723,405 from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and part of that money was earmarked for IRA.
“What we know for sure is there was a $39,000 start-up payment that was given to them before the grand payment we know about and then here was the $125,000 that was approved by Treasury after the whole scandal was written,” Smith said. It remains unclear exactly who in the Obama administration knew about the error in funding. Smith added, “they knew, and this is one of the few times you will hear me say this: I do not primarily blame the Obama administration for this. I primarily blame World Vision. USAID did not double-check and signed off on the grant without looking,” he said.
According to Smith, World Vision claimed that they would get kicked out of Sudan if they had ceased their relationship with IRA. World Vision continued its funding even after a meeting took place in which USAID, World Vision, and the Swiss-based NGO the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Smith said they were all in the same room when the IOM decided against working with IRA due to its terrorist links…..

This is why I never donate to any charity ever; got nothing to do with islam. I learned early that most charities (even Christian ones) are outright scams. It’s how all those “Nigerian prince” online scams came to be — scammers have seen how charitable white Christians are with their money, so they appeal to their sense of compassion. I’d rather feel a little guilty about not helping rather than fill someone’s deep pockets with my hard earned money (or in this case, fund islamic terrorism).

Evangelicals are assholes. I dig cultural Christians whether Catholic or Orthodox but cannot stand the evangelical variety of Christianity. Bunch of turds the whole lot of them.
Iambob says
Why would you say that?
In your way of thinking-following your reasoning-all black people are the same. So treat them all as you would those who pose a threat to the social order and disregard the laws of society altogether.
Painting an entire group of people (whether religiously or ethnically) with the same broad brush of generalization makes you, by definition, both prejudice and a bigot.
How long have you been this way? Were you raised that way or did you learn it on your own?

My mother-in-law was inveigled into sending money for years to the Holy Land Foundation. A devout Catholic, she was fooled by the name, and by the photographs of little malnourished children whom one was to assume were Christians. Imagine my rage to find out that the Holy Land Foundation turned out to be linked to Muslim terrorists.
Iambob says
Same thing happened to me when I learned the truth about the Holy Land Foundation-believing it to be an organization that helps the Jewish people resettle in Israel-when it was just the opposite.
I, actually, supported World Vision back in the late 80s-when they did good work for the underprivileged worldwide. Now they’re no more than a group of useful infidels-like many other Leftist organizations misusing the holy Name of Christ to gain favor and support within the Christian community.
They’re the international version of Chick Fil A-pretending to be ‘Christian’ while supporting non-Christian and anti-Christian causes, agendas and organizations.

Dear Christine,
If WORLD VISION are “Evangelical” then Mr. Trump is a Muslim!

Last night, I read an article written some time ago by Mr. Daniel Greenfield. (December 26, 2018) I had somehow missed it when he first published it, but while reading other articles, came across it, read it, and posted a link on another thread. It is all about this islamic relief org and its ties to terror…groups and funding.
And….the money and support it is given by government officials and others in the U.S.
Here is the link again where I found the article. Perhaps others missed it also.

World Vision was great in the days of Mooneyham. It’s gone downhill after his day.

I actually wrote a letter to World Vision regarding the information in the Daily Caller article from last year and was contacted by a WV representative. I was told the author of the Daily Caller article did not contact WV while researching the content and the article was factually inaccurate. I also read two published statements by WV about the individual who allegedly funneled money to Hamas.
Having said that, I continue to be uncomfortable with WV’s working with any Islamic group and I am especially uncomfortable with their published view of Israel as the “occupier” of “Palestinian” territory.

Sadest day of my life when I severed ties with World Vision and abandoned financial support of my little Tajkia in Bangladesh. I hope somehow she gets to know of the reasons for this, but I doubt that WV would ever tell the truth to their clients.
I stopped support for WV when it was discovered that Gaza WV schools were being used to store rockets. Tajkia is of course Muslim.

Rob, my husband and I sponsored a Muslim child in Burkina Faso through ChildReach in the ’90s. We were both very uncomfortable with sponsoring a polygamous household, but were told that if we dropped her that she would be married off as a child, so we continued. Very disturbing stuff.

There are several so called Christian charities which are fronts for other agendas. Most of then started out OK but over the years moved from their initial purpose. there are 2 large ones in the UK that I never give money too. They never seem to do their work ‘in Jesus’ name’.
I support small Christian charities which are easier to scrutinise.
I hope World Vision has been reported to The Charities Commission and OSCR in the UK.

I stopped giving to World Vision back in the mid 90s. They’ve been sponsoring jihad groups for a long time.

Also, consider the so called Christian organizations in North America that are lining their pockets by fueling the immigration of unvetted Muslims from numerous Islamic states……
It is, I believe, the betrayal of America and Canada………the modern version of the 30 pieces of silver….Blood money!.
