Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Tariq Ramadan on rape charges: “Yes I made a mistake…It was a political set up….to neutralize the Muslims”

Feb 20, 2020 3:00 pm By Robert Spencer

Ever the victim, no matter what. Tariq Ramadan has been accused by several women now of violent rapes. He acknowledges some nebulous wrongdoing here, but then claims that it was all an attempt to discredit him, and thereby to “neutralize the Muslims.” It’s the same old victimhood paranoia we see from Islamic supremacists whenever they’re accused of any wrongdoing at all.

“Islamic Scholar Tariq Ramadan, after Serving Time for Rape Charges: The French Judicial System Imprisoned Me as Part of a Political Plot to Destroy My Reputation; This Can Happen to Any Vocal Muslim,” MEMRI, December 20, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

On December 20, 2019, Swiss Islamic scholar and former Professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies at Oxford University Tariq Ramadan, who took a leave of absence from his position at Oxford and served time in a French jail in 2018, after he was convicted of rape and sexual assault, uploaded a video to the Internet titled “Personal Message to My Brothers and Sisters in Islam.” In the video, Professor Ramadan claimed that he knows he has failed to live up to his principles and said that he asked God for forgiveness in prison. He asked his fellow Muslims to help him with the “healing process.” He went on to say that the French powers and judicial system had imprisoned him not because of the moral issues at hand, but because they were implementing a “plot” with the main objective of destroying his reputation and deterring people from listening to him, since he is a Western Muslim who is vocal about Islam and his views. He warned that the same thing could happen to any Western Muslim who is vocal. On February 13, 2020, Ramadan was formally charged with raping two more women.

Tariq Ramadan: “Yes I made a mistake. I did not live up to my principles. There were contradictions and I think that this is important to acknowledge. And all the story, all what happened during my time in jail helped me to come back to the essential teaching that I thank God for helping me to go through all of this process, the healing process that I went through when I was isolated in my cell and asking God for forgiveness and trying my best to reconcile myself with my principles. I know that some of you were disappointed and shocked. I think at that dimension, for this question it is important for every one of you to just think about you know what happened. I am but a human being. What happened to me could happen to anybody. And it is important for every one of you to try and get a sense of how do I deal with this? How do I deal with someone who is acknowledging mistakes and moral shortcomings?

[…]

“What I am asking you is to just deal with this as my brothers and as my sisters and to help this process to occur through prayers and supplications and love.

[…]

“You know the way I was treated by the French judicial system has nothing to do with the moral question, the moral issue. They do not care about the moral issue. The French power and all the people who were involved in this, they do not care about the moral dimensions. What was clear from them: They had to destroy the reputation of someone who is vocal in the West. Vocal in France. Vocal in Europe about the reality of being a Muslim. So the very essence of my message saying: We are western Muslims, we are American Muslims, European Muslims, French Muslims and we are an added value in the society. There is no contradiction between us and the society. This was the target. This is what they don’t want to hear. They don’t want to listen to this message. And I was at the forefront of this message. And by destroying my reputation and making it clear that other people should not listen to me, the whole story had this as the main objective.

[…]

“Now if you come to the case, the way I was put in jail, the way I was treated. Now I am vocal. I am able to speak out and to say what happened to me is happening to so many Arabs and Muslims in the European jails and in the French jails as it’s happening to black and Muslims in the American jails. That’s the reality of it and we have to be clear that there is discrimination, stigmatization, racism that is at stake in the whole issue. And I was a symbol. To destroy me meant, let the people understand: If you want to be vocal you have to face the reality. It happened to Tariq Ramadan now, it could happen to anyone in the future. Anyone who is vocal. Man and woman, you need to know that this could happen.

[…]

“It was a plot. It was a political set up. And this could happen to anyone. So the fact now that media are talking about the moral side, just to neutralize the Muslims, unable because they are involved in moral assessment to understand the political dimension of this is doubly dangerous.”

Boakai, Ramadan DID NOT simply ‘make a mistake’. He behaved like MOHAMMED. His actions were intentional re-enactments of Mohammed’s abuse of women.

Tariq Ramadan is but a rapist. What happened to him could happen to any rapist.
Ramadan is a persecuted rapist. Raping non Muslims is an entitlement in Islam, blessed by Mohammad, who never missed a chanced to claim to speak for God concerning his sadistic need for control and violence against women.

This is the kind of meaningless statements he would rattle off in his lectures – too fast to process and designed to impress his less educated following.

And they are also the words of an Islamic “scholar” who has been “neutralized”.

Ramadan disagrees that acting like a sex addict and enslaver AS MOHAMMED DID disqualifies him or ‘neutralizes’ his teaching morality.

Ramadan’s SEX-TORTURE does neutralize him. Sex addiction in the founder of Islam neutralizes Mohammed as well.

Ramadan cannot present himself as a moral example for others to follow. He cannot present Mohammed, the sex addict and enslaver of women, as a moral example to follow.

Actually, isn’t that exactly what he and the rest of the followers of the islam ideology do? And is it not working wonders for them if one considers 1200+ years of its history?

The islam ideology has a very different idea of what is moral than we do, and according to theirs, he certainly can present both the ideology and its founder as “moral.”

Now, as to evil or good, that is another question. It is certainly an evil ideology.

Dang it. I hate when this scumbag is right. It is a moral issue. His “holy book” says rape is ok, while our values and laws don’t. The court did not address that at all.

At this point, who you going to believe, some dirty infidel, or God?

But he did admit some contradictions exist. (What, truth vs his story?) So that takes care of that, nothing else to see here.

Note that he did go through a healing process though, during is rest period in jail, and even talked to god. So glad he feels ok now. Hope he can sleep better, and that all the women’s screams are gone. Poor baby.

I also note that he does not in any way hope that the women he raped have had a chance to heal, nor feel sorry in the least. Not even for inconveniencing them.

Oh, so much to unpack from this piece of garbage.

    • mortimer says

      Feb 20, 2020 at 11:25 pm

The issue of morality doesn’t come up in the Koran, because actions are PERMITTED (halal) or FORBIDDEN (haram) in Islam.

Allah is not moral, because he flipflops on whether something is PERMITTED or not.

Ramadan knows that Sharia PERMITS the rape of kafirs, but not Muslim women. He first turned Muslim women (in his mind) into APOSTATE KAFIRS who had abandoned Islam and thus the apostates deserved to be punished. He tortured and raped them as their punishment. These evil deeds were PERMITTED (halal) in his interpretation of Sharia, so his conscience was not troubled by raping and torturing women.

True, Mortimer. There is no real morality in Islam. It all depends on whether it serves to extent the reach of Islam or not.

    BLOOD BOILING!
As a woman who barely escaped rape 4x, but endured a barbaric beat-down in the worst 1, did I seriously just read this bastard begging his supporters, multiple times, for help with HIS “healing”?!
I shouldn’t be surprised, having personally experienced the evil “Muslim Death Stare”, but I’m still stunned: You’d think he’d be smart enough to at least feign concern for his victims, for political purposes, but no…it’s all about how “marginalized” & “victimized” he was!?!
Islam is increasingly proving a Forensic Psychologist’s DREAM! Muslim men won’t even fake remorse out of self-preservation!
This guy gripes about his “reputation”, yet won’t do the 1 thing any American Lawyer or Publicist would foremost advise: Express shame, sorrow, & “sincere” concern for the victims. I’ve seen several clips of Muslim Defendants since their Europe Invasion/ Hijrah…in every instance, they are LAUGHING in court, playing proudly to the cameras! Regardless of the degree of horror – 12 man gang rape, torture, murder of a 12yr old – they all behave the same way: Pompous laughter, whiny blame on “life” rather than themselves, attempted sympathy pleas of “I had a Sexual Emergency” which they’re taught Infidels may be used for at will to satisfy said “Sexual Emergency”, the actual Defense, BTW, of a Muslim man in Germany who anally raped a 5yr old boy in a Public Pool…the German Court let him GO, on “grounds” of “Cultural Misunderstanding”!
Islam is merely a self-glamorized, pseudo-spiritual Sex Cult, Mohammed himself a Sexual FREAK! Whoever they use in their “Sexual Emergency” is immediately reduced to a lifeless orifice, with no more worth than a paper bag…a paper bag that “made them do it”, ruined their “reputation”, & caused them “great need for healing” for the “harm” done to THEM! Damn, Islam sucks.

I endorse the entirety of Tricias post at the beginning of this thread. I most respectfully obect to mortimers use of the term sex addict or sex addiction. First—-setting aside the valid arguments about whether addiction is or is not an objective reality— I believe that the law is and should be that no amount or degree of addiction is any exculpation for any crime. Second , calling him an addict minimises the suffering of his victims, suggests that sentencing should be an exercise in psychotherapy for the offender, and that we can sentence him to attend a few culturally sensitive twelve-step groups and declare the problem solved. Third, the term sex addiction closely approximates the Muslim view that faced with a barefaced or bare-ankled woman, men cannot and should not be expected to control their impulses, and hence that women who expose any part of their bodies have caused their own violation. Oh and if this purported great intellect has never before encountered the western idea of responsibility for his voluntary actions, well, he needs a long time-out to think about it.

        • gravenimage says

          Feb 21, 2020 at 12:18 am

Agreed, elee. One can argue about whether this “addiction” exists or not, as you note.

But even most people who characterize themselves as sex addicts are *not rapists*. They may go to prostitutes, have sex with people they don’t like or who are even dangerous, have sex while drunk or on drugs, cheat on people they love, etc–all unhealthy behavior.

I’m sure, just like the “Prophet” Muhammed, that a high-profile guy like Tariq Ramadan could have had access to a fairly large numbers of willing sex partners if he was so inclined–that he instead decided, as more an more evidence points to, to engage in coercive sex and even out-and-out rape is a very different matter.

Would he have considered this a “mistake” if the victims had kept quiet?

What paranoid insanity–did these women set out to get raped by him? And how many people could you “set up” by offering them an opportunity to rape someone? Not a problem with decent people–very different case with Muslims, though.

Yes, GI. Your explanation makes mincemeat out of Ramadan’s claim. Why would women present themselves for rape and a beating in a hotel room?

Did a security agent burst into the room when Ramadan started the abuse? No … these women suffered the worst abuse until Ramadan’s sick lust was satisfied.

It is RAMADAN’S ABYSMAL, IMMORAL CHARACTER that DEMEANS ISLAM … not some supposed and unbelievable ‘set-up’.

Ramadan is a CHILD and a SOCIOPATH who does not take responsibility for his own WICKEDNESS.

No, I believe his purported addiction arose in his early childhood when he got raised as a Muslim, reading and reciting Muslim texts. He isnt demeaning Islam, if that is possible; Islam made a sexual sociopath of him before he had his first sexual thought.

Ramadan won’t quit covering for Mohammed. He claims: “I know that some of you were disappointed and shocked.”

I was not shocked one bit. Mohammed was called “A WOMANIZER” by his own followers.

    Womanizer

Layla clapped Mohammed’s shoulder from behind and asked him to marry her. Mohammed accepted. Layla’s people said, “’What a bad thing you have done! You are a self-respecting woman, but the Prophet is a WOMANIZER. Seek an annulment from him.’ She went back to the Prophet and asked him to revoke the marriage and he complied with [her request].” – Tabari vol.9 p.139

A number of cult leaders were shameless sexual predators: Jim Jones, Charles Manson, David Koresh, Rajneesh, Graham Capill, Jeffrey Lundgren, Swami Premananda of Tiruchirapalli, Paul Schäfer, Dwight York, Jung Myung Seok, David “Moses” Berg, Edward Arthur Wilson, better known as Brother XII and Joseph Smith (married 40 ‘wives’).

How is Mohammed different from those other sexual predators?

How can Muslims be proud of a sexual predator? Are Muslim women proud of their prophet’s womanizing?

“… I am but a human being. What happened to me could happen to anybody. And it is important for every one of you to try and get a sense of how do I deal with this? How do I deal with someone who is acknowledging mistakes and moral shortcomings?….”
    —————————————————————————————————

As a exercise in lying, whining, and self-important attention-seeking, this is quite something:

“I am but a human being.” (A) Note the pompous self-description here; to say “I’m only human.” – the standard excuse of those whose behaviour has fallen below par – isn’t enough for Ramadan: No, he has to go for a bit of Clinton Cards-standard Victorian cod-poetry, saying “I am but a human….” and try to present himself as a noble exemplar of the Fallen Man. (B) He is falsely trying to spread the blame around and insinuate that every male is likely to behave in this way, and even to imply that had he not behaved in that way, then he would be better than most.

“What happened to me, could happen to anybody.” (C) No, it couldn’t. And far from his having been been the victim of “discrimination, stigmatisation, and racism” as he claims, he was lauded, lionised, and generally encouraged by fawning fools everywhere – (such as his colleague Eugene Rogan, Director of the Middle East Centre (!) who described the charges as “..another way for Europeans to gang-up against a muslim intellectual”) – to think he could do as he pleased.

“And it is important for every one of you to try to….” (D) No, it isn’t – everybody already knows far more about this deeply-unpleasant narcissist than they wish. Note again, the monstrous egotism – not a shred of shame in sight, just the interminable “look-at-me” mantra of somebody who sees his own crimes as publicity for the Ramadan brand.

“How do I deal with someone. who is acknowledging mistakes….” (E) The outside world not interested in devoting time and energy to “dealing with you” Ramadan – the French prison system is there for that. And (F) – he is not “acknowledging mistakes” – leaving your umbrella in the taxi is a “mistake” – what Ramadan is displaying is the psychopath’s trick of down-playing and denying all responsibility for his abhorrent crimes in the expectation of being excused punishment, whilst slyly and continually drawing attention to them as he demands admiration for having carried them out.
