If the people who firebombed the mosque had been non-Muslims, which should never happen, there would be screaming international headlines about this for weeks, UN commissions about “Islamophobia,” and further restrictions on the freedom of speech regarding the motivating ideology behind jihad terror attacks. But the Sunni-Shi’ite jihad coming to Australia? That’s not news.

Two convicted terrorists who firebombed a mosque, amid planning an Islamic State-inspired attack on Melbourne landmarks, are to spend at least 28 years in prison after losing appeals against their convictions.
Ahmed Mohamed and Abdullah Chaarani were last year found guilty of torching a Shiite mosque in Fawkner in December 2016 in what was a sectarian terror act aimed at advancing their devotion to extreme Sunni Islam.
They were each jailed for 38 years, to serve 28 years before they are eligible for parole, as they had also been earlier sentenced for planning a terror attack on Federation Square and nearby landmarks, intended for Christmas 2016.
Mohamed, 27, and Chaarani, 29, appealed against their convictions over the mosque fire, arguing a jury should have been instructed to consider the alternative, and lesser, charge of arson. They were instead found guilty of engaging in a terrorist act….
The trio’s trial heard Chaarani spray painted the words “Islamic State” on a mosque wall in Arabic and English while his two friends were inside starting the fire. The blaze caused $1.5 million damage but no one was hurt.
The men’s losses at the Court of Appeal come a fortnight after their friend, Ibrahim Abbas, lost his appeal against sentence for orchestrating the plan for the jihad-inspired attack on Federation Square….
He later argued the sentence was excessive, but the Court of Appeal found Abbas showed an attitude of “unmitigated callousness and evil” in aiming to slaughter people with machetes and improvised bombs in the name of Islaimic State….
