Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Happy Easter

Apr 12, 2020 9:30 am By Robert Spencer

I wish a joyous and beautiful Easter to all those Catholic and Protestant Christians who are celebrating the Resurrection of Christ today.

Even amid the coronavirus pandemic, Muslim persecution of Christians continues to increase worldwide, as does the phenomenon of Muslims in the West claiming victimhood in order to deflect attention away from the global jihad and Islamic supremacism. The contrast is piquant: Muslims acting in the name of Allah murder Christians in Nigeria and elsewhere, simply because they are Christians, and then complain in the Judeo-Christian West about not being able to wear hijab in violation of some company’s policy, or about someone saying rude things to them in a supermarket — or speaking honestly about how Islamic jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and supremacism. Liars with power, and position, and prestige spread their lies far and wide, while truth-tellers are silenced, demonized, smeared, ignored. And the “global human rights community” rushes to condemn the “Islamophobia,” while remaining silent about the persecution and the steady erosion of the freedom of speech.

But the message today is simple: evil does not and will not triumph. Happy Easter.

    Happy Easter everyone.
Even though I wasn’t raised in a faith I still love the story of loyalty and renewal that comes with the holiday.
Yummy chocolate bunnies aren’t bad either.

Jesus died for us. He was crucified, died and was buried. On the 3rd day he arose from the dead in fulfillment of the scriptures. Thank you Lord Jesus.
      Happy Easter everyone.
Thank you Robert Spencer for sharing your knowledge.

I love this short movie which tells a story of hope for those who feel the darkness approaching but whose hearts still burn with a yearning for a better tomorrow.

After the sorrow will come the joy.

    Peace and hope to all.

A Happy Easter to you too Robert and all associated with JW.

At a time where persecution of Christians is only increasing – in communist contexts but especially in Islamic contexts – we need the reminder Easter brings of the joy awaiting us beyond this life.

Rev 2.11 “He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.”

  11. Westman says

    Apr 12, 2020 at 11:13 pm

Even as an agnostic I recognize that the ideology surrounding Jesus and his life is diametrically opposed that of Muhammad and laid the foundation of love and trust upon which the West gained its advancement and strength.

It can be argued that many non-religionists made as many contributions to that advancement as Christians, however, it is a fact that the attitudes of Christianity combined with the desire for democratic self-rule, laid the foundation of the modern free nation-state that permitted those advancements. And this the central problem holding back Islam – the authoritarian totalism of a demerit system that only answers “no” to improvement because it doesn’t comply with 7th century dogma.

So, yes, the story of Jesus is the greatest story ever told. We are all beneficiaries of that life well lived and its moving of humans from Muhammad’s ugly, “eye for an eye”, to, “loving your neighbor as much as yourself.”

So, Happy Easter and kudos to Jesus and his legacy.
