“Former Vice President Joe Biden is claiming that some supporters of President Donald Trump back the notion that ‘all Mexicans are rapists’ and that ‘all Muslims are bad.’”
In 2016, Hillary Clinton also made a blanket statement, calling Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables.” She also declared that “Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.” Now Biden is picking up where she left off.
Biden in essence is attacking Trump’s awareness that jihad terror is a serious problem in America, and he’s using identity politics in the same manner as the Obama administration did, and that “progressives” do in general. Obama went so far as to scrub necessary identifier words from usage in counterterror analysis:
Before the Boston Marathon bombings, the Obama administration argued for years that there is a big difference between terrorists and the tenets of Islam….A senior White House aide in 2009 publicly urged Washington to cease using the term “jihadist” — asserting that terrorists are simply extremists. Two years later, the White House ordered a cleansing of training materials that Islamic groups deemed offensive.
Trump supporters are generally anti-jihad, not against Muslims as people. The inconvenient truth that Biden is obscuring is that jihad terror is backed by Qur’anic texts, as well as by the Hadith and the tenets of Islamic law.
It is flat wrong for Biden to draw the conclusion that those who oppose jihad terror are anti-Muslim. His claim reveals a lack of understanding about the intricate and indisputable connection between jihad terror and normative Islam, in which martyrdom for the sake of Allah — killing and being killed (cf. Qur’an 9:111) — is the highest calling.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is claiming that some supporters of President Donald Trump back the notion that “all Mexicans are rapists” and that “all Muslims are bad.”
Biden, the presumptive Democrat nominee, made the comment while addressing donors at a virtual fundraiser on Wednesday. In particular, the former vice president was asked if he was planning to reach out to Trump’s “base” during the general election campaign.
Biden, who has claimed to be the only Democrat capable of winning back white working-class voters, purportedly laughed at the idea of conducting such outreach.
“There are people who support the president because they like the fact that he is engaged in political division,” Biden told the donors. “They really support the notion that, you know, all Mexicans are rapists and all Muslims are bad and … dividing this nation based on ethnicity, race.”
The former vice president, though, did admit that he was hoping to entice some of the people that backed Trump in 2016 to vote for him this time around.
“The people who voted Republican last time … who don’t want to vote for Trump, whether they want to vote for me or not is a different story, but they don’t want to vote for Trump,” he said during the fundraiser. “They’re looking for an alternative, and I think, I hope to God, I can provide that alternative.”…
