Clearly the herdsmen think they’re serving Allah by doing this. Could they have gotten this idea from the Qur’an’s repeated statements to “kill them wherever you find them” (2:191, 4:89, cf. 9:5)? That’s the first thing Western analysts rule out.
“Six Children, Pregnant Mother among Nine Christians Killed in Herdsmen Attack in Nigeria,” Morning Star News, April 16, 2020:
JOS, Nigeria (Morning Star News) – Six children and a pregnant woman were among nine people that Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed in north-central Nigeria Tuesday night (April 14), sources said.
About a dozen herdsmen armed with rifles and machetes raided Hura-Maiyanga village, in the Miango area of Kwall District in Plateau state’s Bassa County, shouting the jihadist slogan “Allahu Akbar [God is greater],” sources said.
“They were armed with machetes and AK-47 rifles as they attacked us,” Hanatu John, a woman who survived the attack, told Morning Star News. “They attacked our village at about 8 p.m., and they were shouting, ‘Allahu Akbar!’ as they shot into our houses.”
The assailants were speaking Fulfulde, the Fulani language, as they shot into homes, she said.
“Most families had already retired into houses to sleep when these Fulani gunmen came into the village and were shooting into houses,” John told Morning Star News in Miango town, where she took refuge. “As the herdsmen shot at us, we all ran out from our houses into the surrounding bushes. Some of the herdsmen chased after us and shot at us, while others were burning down our houses.”
Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, director of the Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria (ECCVN), confirmed the attack.
“Hura hamlet of Maiyanga village in Kwall District, Miango Chiefdom in Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau state was invaded last night on April 14th by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen, who surrounded the entire area and unleashed mayhem on the unsuspecting natives,” Mwantiri told Morning Star News by text message. “As a result, nine persons were gruesomely killed and two injured while 33 houses were completely torched by fire. Most of the persons killed were children.”
He identified those killed as Angela Daniel, 3; David Yakubu, 15; Luka Magwa, 5; Ishaya Yakubu, 7; Aba Ibrahim, 6; Stephen Ngwe, 7; the pregnant Talatu Daniel, 32, and her unborn child; Sunday Biri, 45; and Izhe Nkama, 43.
Those killed were buried in two separate mass graves, he said. Mwantiri identified the two people wounded as Esther James, 55, and 51-year-old Lami Ibrahim.
“Additionally, over 250 persons, mostly women and children, have been displaced with no means of livelihood,” Mwantiri said.
Miango resident Grace Gye sent a message to the Plateau state government on Wednesday (April 15) decrying the Fulani terrorist onslaught on area Christians and calling on state and federal governments “to protect the people and their property.” She questioned why Fulani herdsmen were moving about freely in spite of a lockdown in the face of the novel coronavirus.
The Rev. Ronku Aka, a former Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) pastor and now community leader of the Irigwe ethnic group, lamented incessant attacks on predominantly Christian communities.
“So many of my people have been killed over the years, including the attack of last night,” he told Morning Star News on Wednesday (April 15). “In spite of promises from the government to my people, the herdsmen have continuously been attacking our communities.”…

You would think these so-called ‘herdsmen’ thought of themselves as members of the terrorist group Boko Haram.
-Abubakar Shekau, a cleric and spiritual leader called for holy war against Christians:
“I am making war on Christians generally.”
“I enjoy killing anyone that Allah commands me to kill the way I enjoy killing chickens and rams.”
Boko Haram spokesmen have explained the group’s goal is a war on Nigerian Christians.

Luke 22:36 “Then said he (Jesus) unto them, ‘But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip; and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one’ “. Christians of Africa! Buy fire arms, learn to use them, and defend thy selves!
mortimer says
Tony, it’s much more complicated than that. Nigerian Christians already have metal detectors at the doors of most churches to prevent someone bringing a bomb or a gun in. Women worshipers leave their purses at home.

If I may respectfully add, since I was in Northwest Nigeria last summer, the government won’t allow them to purchase arms. And even if some of them are armed, the Islamic bastards catch Christians by surprise. To all Jihad Watch readers, kindly recall that RAMADAN starts in 2 days:
“One of the greatest virtues in Islam is jihad for the sake of God. Ramadan is the month of jihad and battles, and most Muslim battles took place during the blessed month. This is your season, o people of jihad. Jihad during the fasting month of Ramadan has a great taste — for what better way to break your fast than to kill infidels and RELISH the sound of the weeping of the DESPICABLE tyrants and infidels.”
– Saudi-based terrorist magazine, al-Jihad
Sounds like when they say ‘jihad’, they mean ‘genocide’.

Pretty simple Nigerian government and military. You find the Fulani herd animals and there you will find the Fulani terrorists. Next step, exterminate all of their herd animals and execute any male between the ages of 16 – 50. I guarantee the villagers will finally be left to live in piece.
Or the Nigerian government should arm and train Christians to not only defend their families and villages but to actively seek out and destroy the Fulani tribes. Even pay a bounty for their rotting terrorist corpses.

Nigeria has a Muslim president. Why would they want to do anything about Jihad terror?

I was in Nigeria last summer. The problem is that the government is run by a Fulani Islamist, President Buhari. You may find this interesting https://magamedia.org/2019/11/21/the-nigerian-state-sponsored-jihad/

Yes–this is a big part of the problem.

“Only” nine? Muslims, you’re letting down your faith, your Profiteer (after all, he had some 600 men beheaded in just one day and he is your Model Man), and your instruction to conquer all the earth sooner rather than later and make all the real estate on this planet solely the dar al-Islam with no more dar al-harb around at all.
Shape up, Buttlims. Allah is watching you. Get to it.
JMB says
Why isn’t the UNHRC condemning and taking action over this ongoing, deadly, systematic and criminal persecution of Christians in Nigeria? (UN Human Rights Commission)
Wellington says
Because the UNHRC is a cruel farce and the UN is now controlled by the Islamic Bloc just as the UN was controlled by the Communist Bloc during the Cold War.
All free societies should remove themselves from the UN and not support any UN ancillary organization. This almost certainly won’t happen but it should.
JMB says
Hello Wellington, I certainly agree with what you have said. There are many people here in Australia who are now questioning our membership of the UN, even calling for us to exit. Our prime minister has publicly criticised the WHO over the C-19 crisis but has stopped short of withdrawing funding. It is interesting to note that a relatively small nation such as Australia makes a very similar contribution to the WHO as China does.
Frank Anderson says
W. I am not trying to be “smart” or sarcastic in asking how many free societies are there in the US to withdraw? Please tell us who (which societies) might fit that description?
Frank Anderson says
Correction-UN
Frank Anderson says
CORRECTION: UN
Wellington says
Funny you ask that, Frank, because as I was writing my post above I could not help but reflect upon the fact that free societies are dwindling fast, not principally (though still a major factor) because of millions of followers of the worst religion of all time being in these societies, which they weren’t just a few decades ago, but primarily because of political correctness, multiculturalism, denigration of the nation state and stunning willful ignorance by the elites in the media, the political realm and academia—which of course have all been contributory to letting so many Mohammedans into Western societies in the first place.
Still, there remains enough of Western nations (and a few others like Japan and South Korea and let’s not forget Eastern European countries which are now showing the way) with some resolve and millions of people in these nations that know what freedom means and perhaps, just perhaps, this will be enough to insure that withdrawal from the UN and its subordinate organizations will occur. I hope enough resolve and good sense is still left to get the hell out of the UN and thoroughly reclaim liberty, but frankly it doesn’t look all that good. But what is the alternative? There is none. Live free or die.
Frank Anderson says
W. have you dismissed my proposition that at the very least what presents itself as a “religion” can also be a criminal conspiracy? Please see the trial court opinion in United States v. Gary Greenough from the United States District Court in Mobile, Alabama, available online.
Wellington says
No, Frank, I haven’t dismissed your proposition. I certainly think Islam is the one major religion which is totalitarian in structure and ideology, as Bertrand Russell noted a century ago, and, in effect, ALL totalitarian ideologies have a criminal conspiracy element about them.
Hey, whatever works. I would be satisfied if “only” Islam were described and widely perceived as an EVIL religion. This would be enough, I think, to “take care of it.” Thereafter, its criminal and totalitarian aspects would just as a matter of course be effectively dealt with.
We’ve got to get past the false assumption that a religion must be good. Such an assumption is a hypothesis masquerading as an axiom. Some religions can be evil. Islam certainly is and if treated as such, the First Amendment and American society are flexible enough to allow it to exist but never extend to it any trust or respect (just as with Marxism and Nazism) and also prosecute to the max any violation of American constitutional and statutory law that Islam mandates (e.g., death for apostasy).
Hope this response you find satisfactory, Frank. Take care.
Frank Anderson says
W. I ask you to continue considering the effect of seeing islam as a criminal conspiracy, whether or not it passes any or all tests of being a religion. There is no crime in being an evil religion. There is always a crime in being a criminal conspiracy.
Also, many people see automatically protected and shielded from question whenever an activity is labeled a religion. Food for continued thought? I tested some my shop work this afternoon for the first time in many months. Learned a lot. More to come. Always best wishes to you.
Wellington says
I did consider it, Frank. My overall point is that if Islam were almost universally seen as an EVIL religion, the criminal conspiracy “stuff” you have brought up would follow as a matter of course. First things first and then you go from there.
Can’t have Islam seen as a criminal conspiracy if you don’t initially see it as a wicked belief system. Don’t want to put the cart before the horse, now do we? Proper sequence and all that. Try positing that Islam is a criminal conspiracy (which it is and I am with you here) while not from the get-go describing it as an evil religion and you are headed to Nowheresville.
Frank Anderson says
Is it time to stop rhetorical questions and cut to the obvious facts when presenting these reports? At some point in the discussion, the facts are enough to get the attention that is deserved. Islam, standard, orthodox, common, no matter which “sect”, calls for murder and conquest. It has called for them and practiced them along with slavery, looting, lying and every other form of abuse that can be imagined for 1400 years and continuing.
Daniel Triplett says
Yes, it’s time.
Articulating the Islamic problem/threat and spreading the word must be a continuing effort. However, we need not wait until 100% of Kafirs are fully informed and convinced to begin discussing answers to the question…”What are we going to do about it?” It’s not too soon to develop strategies for victory in this 1400 year zero-sum war.
Frank Anderson says
I sincerely question why any doubt or uncertainty should be expressed when reporting the actions of terrorists. If we don’t know by now we never will know. If we do not accept the facts and show that we are convinced, how can we expect anyone else to listen to us. Any excuse that is given even by our pretending to doubt, is all the excuse needed for the ignorant and undecided to continue their indecision.
Lydia Church says
Oh but of course… that phrase has ‘nothing’ to do with jihad terrorism… as the experts say, despite the fact that they shout it almost every time such an act is committed…!
