Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Pakistan quietly removes 1800 jihadis from its terror watch list, including mastermind of 2008 Mumbai jihad massacre

Apr 26, 2020 2:00 pm By Robert Spencer

What could possibly go wrong? The real problem is “Islamophobia.”

“Pakistan removes thousands of names from terrorist watch list: Report,” PTI, April 21, 2020:

NEW YORK: Pakistan has quietly removed around 1,800 terrorists from its watch list, including that of the 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind and LeT operations commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, ahead of a new round of assessments by the global anti-money-laundering watchdog FATF, according to a US-based start-up that automates watchlist compliance. The so-called proscribed persons list, which is maintained by Pakistan’s National Counter Terrorism Authority or NACTA, is intended in part to help financial institutions avoid doing business with or processing transactions of suspected terrorists.

The list in 2018 contained about 7,600 names. It has been reduced to under 3,800 in the past 18 months, according to Castellum.AI, a New York-based regulatory technology company.

About 1,800 of the names have been removed since the beginning of March, according to data collected by Castellum.

Pakistan is working to implement an action plan that has been mutually agreed to with the Paris-based The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), part of which involves “demonstrating effective implementation of targeted financial sanctions.”

It is possible that these removals are part of Pakistan’s action plan to implement the FATF recommendations, it said.

While Pakistan received a rating of “low” effectiveness from the FATF regarding terrorist financing preventive measures and financial sanctions, the FATF did note in February that Pakistan has largely addressed 14 of 27 action items, with varying levels of progress made on the rest of the action, it said.

The FATF will again evaluate Pakistan’s progress in June 2020….

If they continue down this road, Pakistan will soon have internal jihad wars. Jihadi groups within Pakistan will start to look for targets in Pakistan … people who are not Islamicly correct.

Millions of Pakistanis will suffer as the country’s economy plunges into the paralysis of fear.

Mortimer, this has already been happening. There are stories from decades ago in squash star Maria Toorpakai’s book “A Different Kind of Daughter” about how the Pakistani army would be afraid to patrol the tribal areas and even the city of Peshawar, especially after dark.

Not surprised? We have the same problem in Canada. Allowing ISIS terrorists in and paying them 31.5 million dollars.

Am I reading this right? Pakistan is removing the names of terrorists on a list that is used to determine it’s record on keeping track of terrorists, just because it can? In any case, from what I’ve read, it has made little to no progress dealing with Islamists within it’s borders. To make matters worse it has an elephant in the room that doesn’t like the other elephant in the room, namely the nuclear arsenals of Pakistan and India. You hardly ever hear a word about it, almost as if just discussing the matter would spark a devastating chain of reactions.

I trust India *far* more than I do Pakistan.

    ……………….

Why should anyone be surprised by this? These Muslim thugs are *not* our allies.

I don’t know why anyone is alarmed by this. It’s not like Pakistan actually does any “watching” based on these lists.

Jihad is a major pillar of their Kashmir and Afghanistan policy.

Decades of American support have allowed it’s intelligence agencies and Army to obtain an asymmetric advantage over their civilian governmental apparatus.

The US still characterizes Pakistan as a security seeking nation, ignoring ideology that led to its formation, the deobandis, and the various jamaats it so openly celebrates.

Pakistan was never any sort of democracy. The idea that this is America’s fault is absurd.

That being said, we should acknowledge that these thugs are no allies of ours.

Interesting paradox here. How can the Pakistan State proscribe individuals whose motivation is exactly the same as that of the Pakistan State? Or is it the problem here that these individuals are blowing the Pakistan State’s cover?

Even among Muslims, Pakistanis are some of the scummiest and most hypocritical people in existence. When the western world is preoccupied with the coronavirus, Pakistan judges pardon Daniel Pearl’s murderer and terrorist warrior Omar Saeed Sheikh. Note the Sheikh was born in the UK. The one thing worse than those living in Pakistan are Pakistanis who live elsewhere.

The US under Trump has wisely cut aid to Pakistan:

Not a big surprise, America should stop all foreign aid to Pakistan and every other muslim/islamic countries, we are just feeding the terrorists, with dollars.
