Maybe Idris Abdus-Salaam was simply mentally ill. Maybe he had some relationship with his victims. But we have seen many times jihadis going on stabbing sprees in Europe, and the Islamic State issued this call in September 2014:
So O muwahhid, do not let this battle pass you by wherever you may be. You must strike the soldiers, patrons, and troops of the tawaghit. Strike their police, security, and intelligence members, as well as their treacherous agents. Destroy their beds. Embitter their lives for them and busy them with themselves. If you can kill a disbelieving American or European — especially the spiteful and filthy French — or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be….If you are not able to find an IED or a bullet, then single out the disbelieving American, Frenchman, or any of their allies. Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him….
“Durham truck driver killed after stabbing 3 to death at Tennessee truck stop,” WATE, April 7, 2020:
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – A stabbing suspect who was shot and killed after fatally stabbing three women and hospitalizing a fourth at a Knoxville truck stop early Tuesday has been identified by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The deceased suspect, Idris Abdus-Salaam, 33, was a truck driver from Durham, North Carolina.
The three deceased victims were all employed at the Pilot Travel Center on Strawberry Plains Pike. They have been identified as:
Joyce Whaley, 57
Patricia Denise Nibbe, 51
Nettie R. Spencer, 41The fourth victim, who was a customer, remains hospitalized.
The report of a stabbing at the truck stop at 7210 Strawberry Plains Pike was made just before 7 a.m.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed three female victims were fatally stabbed and another woman was takento a nearby hospital.
The condition of the hospitalized individual is unknown at the time.
The male stabbing suspect, Abdus-Salaam, was shot and killed by law enforcement, TBI spokesperson Leslie Earhart said.
Upon arrival, officers observed at least one person with stab wounds outside of the store. A man, armed with a knife and identified by witnesses as the suspect, was also observed in the parking lot.
Officers confronted the individual who refused to drop the weapon. At some point during the encounter, one of the officers fired shots, striking the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene….
John Adams says
Absolutely disgusting. I’m sure the dumbocrats and leftist media will find some “excuse” to cover for him but I’m glad law enforcement was able to neutralize the threat!

Boromir's Horn says
The most important part of this story was completely omitted: what was the name of the knife manufacturer?
dhans says
Are you thinking this was an assault knife?
Frank Anderson says
Well, if gun manufacturers can be sued for the “intervening criminal conduct” of the user, so also should the knife manufacturer, and the automobile manufacturer and the alcohol manufacturers for drunk drivers. It ends when the product liability insurance costs drives the manufacturers out of business. The search for the deep pocket never ends, especially when the search serves the agenda of disarming citizens and rendering them into subjects.
gravenimage says
Muslims have stabbed people with chef’s knives and bread knives and box cutters and garden tools. In an IKEA in Sweden, two Muslims went on a stabbing spree with knives they found in the store’s kitchen accessories section and murdered two people.
I doubt it is particularly important who made the knife.
Boromir's Horn says
gi, my only point was the silliness of the anti gun lobby to always blame the gun first then investigate backwards to the seller, manufacturer etc.
Frank Anderson says
GI, you might have missed the sarcasm of the question. At the same time consider the serious consequences I touch on in my comment which follows the original question. If the doctrine of “intervening criminal conduct” is destroyed, then any manufacturer of any product used in a crime becomes liable for its criminal use. Until recently manufacturers and sellers were not responsible for criminals use of their products; but some states have now ruled otherwise. I can imagine a lumber yard being held liable for a killing using a piece of wood they sell if this change in the law continues.

Boromir’s Horn and Frank, I’m afraid I *did* miss the sarcasm–my apologies. You hear so many idiots actually saying stupid things like this. BH, I should have realized you would not think like this.

Frank Anderson says
T.M.H., I apologize if I am burdening you with my contention that being a “religion” is normally protected; and being a “cult” is often tolerated. But being a “criminal conspiracy” is against the law and should be prosecuted.
If you wish me to explain, I will. If you wish to read one of the best cases ever written which explains conspiracy, simply search United States v. Gary Greenough, a federal trial court in Mobile, Alabama wrote and published an opinion that has one of the best explanations I found in doing my research.
In a conspiracy, “The acts of one are the acts of all. The knowledge of one is the knowledge of all.” There is no time limit upper or lower for a conspiracy to exist. As long as 2 or more “persons” are involved, there is no upper limit on the number of people who can and should be prosecuted.
This “person” did not act alone. He is but one of about 1.5 milliard/billion knowing members of a criminal conspiracy to wage war, loot, conquer, enslave and kill. Please see what you think.

Just Venting says
To Rosen:
I hope that you are aware that many students in Church sponsored schools do not belong to the churches that run the schools. In many countries, the populace prefer private, often church related schools, due to the quality of education. Also, since mental illness seems to be present in the world, regardless of faith or lack thereof, we should expect to see (and we do) people claiming that God or an Angel, or Jesus, etc., told them to go kill someone. Usually, the excuse is the victim “had a devil” or was “demon possessed.” And yes, even good church going parents can have kids that are thugs.
I have also noted the following:
1. I have never heard of a person claiming to be sent by the “devil” to kill an “angel.” Strange, isn’t it?
2. I am not aware of any passages in the Bible that commands Christians to attack anyone, let alone non-Christians.
gravenimage says
Where does it say that this student killer was actually a Seventh Day Adventist himself? It does not.
Probably the only famous murderer connected with the Seventh Day Adventists was Lee Boyd Malvo–and he had to leave that denomination and convert to Islam before he began his killing spree. Odd, no? sarc/off

You managed to find 6 cases out of 20,000,000 Seventh-day Adventists”.Wow, that’s one out of every 3,333,333 Seventh-day Adventists stabbing someone. Sounds like a good example to me.

All claims based on faith and revelation, apart from and/or in contradiction to reason, are ultimately dangerous and detrimental to human survival on earth. And if a claim can be proven by reason, reality, and facts, what need is there for faith?
“The alleged short-cut to knowledge, which is faith, is only a short-circuit destroying the mind….
What is mysticism? Mysticism is the acceptance of allegations without evidence or proof, either apart from or against the evidence of one’s senses and one’s reason. Mysticism is the claim to some non-sensory, non-rational, non-definable, non-identifiable means of knowledge, such as “instinct,” “intuition,” “revelation,” or any form of “just knowing.”
Reason is the perception of reality, and rests on a single axiom: the Law of Identity.
Mysticism is the claim to the perception of some other reality—other than the one in which we live—whose definition is only that it is not natural, it is supernatural, and is to be perceived by some form of unnatural or supernatural means….
I have said that faith and force are corollaries, and that mysticism will always lead to the rule of brutality. The cause of it is contained in the very nature of mysticism. Reason is the only objective means of communication and of understanding among men; when men deal with one another by means of reason, reality is their objective standard and frame of reference. But when men claim to possess supernatural means of knowledge, no persuasion, communication or understanding are possible. Why do we kill wild animals in the jungle? Because no other way of dealing with them is open to us. And that is the state to which mysticism reduces mankind—a state where, in case of disagreement, men have no recourse except to physical violence. And more: no man or mystical elite can hold a whole society subjugated to their arbitrary assertions, edicts and whims, without the use of force. Anyone who resorts to the formula: “It’s so, because I say so,” will have to reach for a gun, sooner or later. Communists, like all materialists, are neo-mystics: it does not matter whether one rejects the mind in favor of revelations or in favor of conditioned reflexes. The basic premise and the results are the same.” – Ayn Rand
Necrophage says
Thanks for the dissertation, but I just have to point out that atheistic belief systems are responsible for more murders in the 20th century alone than were killed in all of the “religious” wars in history put together, by at least one order of magnitude. And as Ayn Rand points out in your quote, even the most ostensibly rational belief systems still operate on “faith” to one degree or another. If you think that rationalists are immune from the murderous tendencies common to humanity, then you are more naive than the most devout true believer.
yiyoya says
Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism rejects faith and revelation completely. And it is an atheistic philosophy. I have yet to hear of an Objectivist committing murder in the name of Objectivism. Correlation is not causation, just because socialism and communism are atheistic and claim to be scientific and rational does not make them so. Nowhere did I claim that a rational person is immune to irrationality. Rationality and morality are a choice. Man is neither infallible, nor omniscient. Rationality, thinking, and moral action are not automatic, they are a choice. At any time a man can choose NOT to think, at any time man can choose evil. And also, at any time, a man can fail to think.
“You are probably wondering here: “What about Communism? Isn’t it a logical, scientific, atheistic philosophy, and yet doesn’t it lead straight to totalitarianism?” The short answer to this is: Communism is not an expression of logic or science, but the exact opposite. Despite all its anti-religious posturings, Communism is nothing but a modern derivative of religion: it agrees with the essence of religion on every key issue, then merely gives that essence a new outward veneer or cover-up.
The Communists reject Aristotelian logic and Western science in favor of a “dialectic” process; reality, they claim, is a stream of contradictions which is beyond the power of “bourgeois” reason to understand. They deny the very existence of man’s mind, claiming that human words and actions reflect nothing but the alogical predetermined churnings of blind matter. They do reject God, but they replace him with a secular stand-in, Society or the State, which they treat not as an aggregate of individuals, but as an unperceivable, omnipotent, supernatural organism, a “higher unseen power” transcending and dwarfing all individuals. Man, they say, is a mere social cog or atom, whose duty is to revere this power and to sacrifice every thing in its behalf. Above all, they say, no such cog has the right to think for himself; every man must accept the decrees of Society’s leaders, he must because this is the voice of Society, whether he understands it or not. Fully as much as Tertullian, Communism demands faith from its followers and subjects, “faith” in the literal, religious sense of the term. On every account, the conclusion is the same: Communism is not a new, rational philosophy; it is a tired, slavishly imitative heir of religion.
This is why, so far, Communism has been unable to win out in the West. Unlike the Russians, we have not been steeped enough in religion — in faith, sacrifice, humility, and, therefore, servility. We are still too rational, too this-worldly, and too individualistic to submit to naked tyranny. We are still being protected by the fading remnants of our Enlightenment heritage.
But we will not be so for long…” –
from “Religion Versus America” by Leonard Peikoff, Objectivist philosopher (this speech was delivered in 1986, as you can see our Enlightenment heritage of the supremacy of reason has eroded further and further since 1986, as Peikoff predicted)
Giacomo Latta says
”atheistic belief systems are responsible for more murders in the 20th century alone than were killed in all of the “religious” wars in history put together”
Ho boy! As others say, citations please. Or even better, statistics please. Tyrannies do not have belief systems, but rather forced belief systems in order to maintain their power structure.
The USSR was nominally atheistic because they feared the church’s control of human minds. If the ayatollahs in Iran were only interested in a belief system they would not need to control Iranians politically.
As far as day-to-day life goes I would love to have the media name the belief system of a killer. ”The killer, Muhammad Obama, was a muslim.” or ”The killer, Bob Jones, was an atheist.” or ”The killer, John Jackson, wouldn’t have known a belief system if one jumped up and bit him in the head.” Should that ever come to be, true atheism would rarely be named. We atheists know that the universe created us and the universe will destroy us. There is no olive-skinned man with a full beard running the show.
Gamma says
OK atheists. Here’s your source: “Death by Government: Genocide and Mass Murder Since 1900,” by R. J. Rummel. ISBN: 1560009276. Atheistic communist governments are documented to have killed over 220 million in the 20th century, the vast majority being citizens of the countries’ governments they were killed by. Just because a hack novelist who plagiarized the work of a few Austrian economists had a hack non-philosophical philosophy and a little cult following of atheists doesn’t excuse the atheist mass murderers and their atheist regimes. Find a new talking point, Randians.
yiyoya says
Gamma, you’re not a very bright fellow are you? What does Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism have to do with communism? Try to answer that without slander, ad hominems, or groundless insults against Ayn Rand and Objectivism.
You know next to nothing about Ayn Rand’s philosophy, you ignorant moron. You hear the word “atheism” and you define it as “communism”, you are the very definition of an ignorant, low IQ, moron!
Necrophage says
You ignorant low IQ moron. What objectivism and communism have in common is so obvious even an ignorant low IQ moron such as yourself should be able to see it, you ignorant low IQ moron. (See what I did there, fucktard?) Two words: moral utilitarianism. I’ll leave you to make the obvious connections there, though I’m not sure an idiot like you can handle that. You ignore facts presented and go off on some pedantic rant trying to defend Ayn Rand’s honor or something, while curiously expressing a profound faith that a mindless universe created you from nothing. Your lack of self awareness is almost comical. You are a petulant, name-calling, juvenile, halfwitted, narcissist as well, who obviously knows a great deal less about both philosophy and history than he claims to.
Arrogance and foolishness are a bad combination, and you’ve got both in spades. You’re not winning arguments here; you’re just alienating potential allies. If you want to educate people, insults are not the way to do it. I generally try to avoid it, but I think you are a lost cause.
I’m done here.
yiyoya says
There can be no alliance between between religion and Objectivism, just as there can be no alliance between voodoo and science. There can be no alliance between a John Galt and a Jesus Christ. The pursuit of happiness and achievement on earth cannot be combined with the role of a sacrificial suicide on a cross. Equating Utilitarianism with Objectivism? Your abject ignorance of Objectivism is glaring! Christianity never could, never did, and never will save capitalism. If America is to have a future of freedom, individualism, and capitalism it will NOT be due to a return to that old time religion. Goodbye and Good Riddance.
“America’s inner contradiction was the altruist-collectivist ethics. Altruism is incompatible with freedom, with capitalism and with individual rights. One cannot combine the pursuit of happiness with the moral status of a sacrificial animal….Capitalism could not survive in a culture dominated by mysticism and altruism, by the soul-body dichotomy and the tribal premise. No social system (and no human institution or activity of any kind) can survive without a moral base. On the basis of the altruist morality, capitalism had to be—and was—damned from the start….This country—the product of reason—could not survive on the morality of sacrifice. It was not built by men who sought self-immolation or by men who sought handouts. It could not stand on the mystic split that divorced man’s soul from his body. It could not live by the mystic doctrine that damned this earth as evil and those who succeeded on earth as depraved. From its start, this country was a threat to the ancient rule of mystics. In the brilliant rocket-explosion of its youth, this country displayed to an incredulous world what greatness was possible to man, what happiness was possible on earth. It was one or the other: America or mystics. The mystics knew it; you didn’t. You let them infect you with the worship of need—and this country became a giant in body with a mooching midget in place of its soul, while its living soul was driven underground to labor and feed you in silence, unnamed, unhonored, negated, its soul and hero: the industrialist.” – Ayn Rand

I never knew you were a trucker, Frank. I’m amazed at the breadth of the things you have done.
Terrible to hear about this attack. I know that because of the importance of moving goods during this time that truck stops are one of the few places right now were you are apt to find a lot of people in one place. That’s probably why this murderous Jihadist targeted it.
Frank Anderson says
GI, after my surgery every time I went into a courtroom I had chest pains. I enjoyed watching Ice Road Truckers and have a number of ideas to make their work safer and more productive. I went to a local junior college truck driving school for 2 months, met 6 of the absolutely best people I have ever met in one place, spent 2 weeks training and 3 more weeks with an over the road trainer, then drove 87,000 miles in 6 months solo, carrying some of the chemicals that keep business going.

With all the things I had done before driving, I knew a number of things and invented several devices to make my work easier and still do better than usual.

He took his jacket off and spread it on the wet ground. He got on his knees and bowed to the ground several times. I guess because it was raining his first of his five daily prayers was an abbreviated version. He put his jacket back on and went around back of his trailer and out of my sight. I lay my crowbar back on the floor.

S.H., it could be useful to know that federal rules prohibit drivers from being armed. Trucks are vulnerable without escorts and guards present at stops.
Savvy Kafir says
Frank, There’s actually no federal law prohibiting truck drivers from being armed. However, it can be tricky and inconvenient if they travel through states without reciprocity with the state that granted their concealed carry license. And some trucking companies forbid the carrying of guns by their drivers — a ban that some drivers ignore. The impression I’ve always had is that it’s not uncommon for truck drivers to keep a pistol in the cab, if not on their person.
A few years ago, there was a bill designed to make it legal for truck drivers to carry a gun (loaded and accessible) across all state lines; but I don’t think it went very far. The NRA didn’t support it, because they want a much broader law that applies to everyone with a concealed carry permit, not just truckers.

If he was acting on behalf of Islam, then justice was not served, because Islam got off scot free, even though one of its dimmed bulbs did not. Islam is deadly to human development and therefore to humanity.
Muhammad says your “lives and property” are not safe from him unless you become a Muslim
In Sahih al-Bukhari the most canonical hadith collection:
Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 24:
https://muflihun.com/bukhari/2/24
Narrated Ibn ‘Umar (brother-in-law and companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad):
Allah’s Apostle [Muhammad] said: “I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform all that, then they save their lives and property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah.”
somehistory says
The Bible tells us what our Creator expects when someone takes the life of a fellow human. He will see that Justice in full measure…not just “to some degree” as i wrote above…is applied to the murderer of these women.
Man cannot do another thing to this moslim creep as he is dead. But death holds no power over our Almighty God.
Gork says
So what kind of assault knife was it? I think we should ban that model of knife. I’ll bet it has a “thing that goes up” on it too. After all, we can’t dare blame the person for what a nasty looking knife made him do. I mean, if we did that we’d actually have to admit that maybe he was high on a religion of some sort.
Savvy Kafir says
Formerly-great Britain takes pretty much that line regarding knives. It’s illegal to carry a knife with a blade longer than 3 inches. And no lock-blade knives are allowed. About fifteen years ago, in response to a surge in knife attacks, a group of British trauma/ER doctors tried to get a law passed banning kitchen knives with long, pointy blades. Last year, some leaders of the Church of England revived the call to ban pointy knives.
These are the panicky, irrational reactions of sheep. Britain is fast becoming a police state, in which honest citizens are completely disarmed — at just the time when imported Muslim savages are making weapons more necessary than ever.

That should be a lesson to muslims that want to be stupid in Tn. I live an hour east of Knoxville and folks around here don’t have a sense of humor, when it comes to this stuff. There’s a very good chance he would’ve been taken out, long before the police got to the scene. A lot of CCW here, yes and some straight-up good rednecks that carry guns.
somehistory says
It’s too bad someone wasn’t there to “take him out” before he killed so many. Like when he was going for the first victim, before he stabbed her fatally.
Probably more could have been done if not for the fact so many have been laid off and told to stay home…so not as many people out and about who carry and are willing to aim and fire.
eduardo odraude says
Good.
I just wish they had been on the scene and stopped this murderer before he could hurt someone.
eduardo odraude says
And unfortunately, no, Charlie, this event certainly won’t be a lesson to Muslims that want to be stupid in Tn. Ever hear of martyrdom? To jihadists, this was a successful martyrdom operation. To jihadists, this murderer is now in paradise with 72 or more virgins.
I’ve never had a gun or even carried a knife. But for the first time I’m thinking of changing that, because I don’t want to tolerate this random knifing s**t from jihadists in my country. Plus I’m going to be even less willing than before to censor myself about Islam. Not saying all Muslims actually follow or even know much about Muhammad’s wretched violent evil totalitarian teachings. But Islam and Muhammad are massively guilty, as are those — the Muslim leadership — who do know and do support Islam’s totalitarian core. While a minority, they will often talk nice and sweet, the leaders, but watch closely enough and you’ll see what they really stand for. And check out how for yourself how evil the core texts of Islam are at this link:

To be clear, if I were to get a weapon, it would be done legally, and would be solely for legal self-defense. I am emphatically against violence except to stop people who are at that moment actually engaged in illegal violence themselves.

Yes Charlie, I too live about 30 minutes from there, and I can vouch for your comment. This idiot picked a place, mostly frequented by travelers, tourists and truckers… if he had been in a more “local” type establishment all he would have heard prior to his arrival at Allah’s doorstep would have been the repetitive clicking noise of the hammers locking in before being ventilated straight to hell. Do not come to East Tennessee and try your shit, we will make a social event of killing your ass, and we have lots of places to bury you too..

Niemoller says
SO, what happens when jihadis routinely murder people in acts of jihad and the mainstream press all but ignores it?
Did it really happen?
OR, do the uber-tolerant but news-challeged folks simply think you’re making these stories up to defame poor, innocent Muslims?
Poor, innocent Muslims sure commit a lot of murder.
gravenimage says
This story was reported by a local Fox News affiliate. That’s pretty mainstream.
Niemoller says
Gravenimage, I have to disagree. This is worthy of all-day national press, not a blip on a local affiliate site. This is a coverup at its root. Burying the lead, or putting important news in small back page articles are old tacts from corrupt media that ostensibly gives it plausible denial. This is the corporate press hypercorrecting for fear of being scolded by the likes of CAIR or losing money if some powerful Isamists like the Saudis divest.
eduardo odraude says
It’s also fear of a Charlie Hebdo event. NYT reporters are aware of certain dangers if they speak truth about Islam. They imagine the headlines. “Jihadist bombs NYT building, no survivors.” or “Jihadist knifes five journalists leaving the NYT building.” Or, “Jihadist gets past security and machine guns 30 people in NYT building.”
In principle, the media understand that free speech is essential to democracy. In practice, though, they figure, “well, I’m not going to stick my neck out, thank you.”
Really the threat is twofold: not just the potential for Charlie Hebdo slaughter events, but the potential that the left will pile on and get people fired and destroy their careers. Facing attack on both sides, you have to be a bit suicidal like the 300 Spartans who with one of their kings and with some allies blocked the pass at Thermopylae knowing they would eventually be attacked from both sides at once and wiped out. But by making that sacrifice, they bought time for the rest of Greece to prepare to fight the invaders. The invaders consequently were destroyed, the genius of classical Greece was able to flower, and Western civilization was saved.
Frank Anderson says
E.O. in 1982 I took such an outnumbered stand against the theft of 200 million dollars from the corporation I represented as in-house lawyer. I was destroyed in every detail of my life except life itself and my 2 law licenses. I have worked ever since to recover and rebuild. So I have a fairly good idea of the price to be paid for such stands.
As part of my recovery effort, I went back to college a third time to study accounting. During that time I met several professors who encouraged me to write and do research. The conclusion of my research, which has been reviewed and “blessed” by a number of lawyers, is that self destructive stands should be avoided while performing the duties professionals have as part of their profession, and all citizens have resulting from their citizenship. “It is not my duty to die because someone else is a crook.” We are useless as dead bodies or paupers surrounded by corruption.
Effective resistance must include self-preservation. Please, very humbly from my experience, consider my thoughts.
gravenimage says
Niemoller, note that I was *not* saying that this story should not have received more coverage, just noting that it was indeed reported by at least one mainstream news source.
Then, a short search shows that it was also covered by CNN, USA Today, NBC, ABC, the New York Times, a slew of local news stations, and my own Mercury News here in California. Often Jihad terror news *is* buried, but it does not seem to have been done so in this case.
That being said, not all stories identify the murderer as Muslim.
revereridesagain says
I don’t suppose we will ever get to hear what he screamed at the kafir women as he was murdering them, even though apparently there is a surviving witness. That might be you-know-what-phobic.
Women need to be warned to stay out of the way of these savages. That’s a truly constructive form of “social distancing” and in the long run may save as many lives.

Q: If we all agree to ignore the passages in the Qur’an that enjoin believers to be violent toward non-Muslims, they’ll go away, right? If we deny that such passages even exist, jihadis will cease acting upon them, won’t they?
6:19 p.m.
A: Muslim goes on stabbing spree at truck stop, killing three women and injuring a fourth.
So… that answer would definitely have to be…. uh…. a NO. It won’t disappear by taking the ostrich approach. Any more questions?

What I am worried about is that there will be a jihadist attack at a major US or European hospital ER or ICU as many of the imams across the world have told the ulema that the virus is allah’s punishment for kafir. Also , being Holy Week and Passover , it will be a bigger chance to strike terror. It shouldn’t be that hard for counter intelligence to start thinking about making contingency plans for something like this and beef up security .. but then again… our FBI and major city police forces are unimaginative and kowtow to CAIR’s every demand. Medical staff are sitting ducks. Also, with everyone having surgical masks on , it will be easier for terrorists to blend in and get past tired security guards.
Ed says
Jihadwatch, what in the world is wrong with you people??? Some guy, clearly with mental issues killed several innocent people. This is horrible, and I have no problem with his life being terminated. My only hope would have been to have an opportunity to dive into his motivation (and then terminate his life). You then confluent some random proclamation, from some random individual to this event. This is the worst form of bias, irresponsible “journalism” I have seen. Please provide some verifiable evidence that ties him to this proclamation. And I pray you don’t evoke the “black swan” fallacy.
EL Long says
The best predictor for future behavior is past behavior. Call it what you will, but what has been written here will come out as the truth. Know your enemy. This man was did not have ‘mental issues’ as a normal person would assume. He had a mission and a belief that non Muslims are to be killed. He fulfilled that mission. I live in this area, and local news reports are saying he had a ‘journal’ i.e. manifesto, in the cab of his truck filled with ‘graphic’ information that they just weren’t ready to release yet. Get your head out of the sand before one of these folks gets a chance to remove it for you, Ed. This is the reality man, and as screwed up as it is for the average American to wrap their minds around it, this threat is very real and alive in your own back yard.
Frank Anderson says
ELL, I agree with what you have written. I suggest adding that not only do muslims believe in killing non-muslims, they also believe that dying in the process of killing is a straight path to paradise. They are taught that life is misery and death is the goal.
Ed says
EL L, please re-read your response to my query. What “evidence” can you provide to link this mans actions to a shred of the premise set forth by the author of this article. Specifically a Jihad proclamation. Your response is “they said”, “Journal”…
Guys, I live in a world of decisions, beliefs and actions based on “EVIDENCE”…
I don’t know what you do for a living, but I sincerely hope you don’t provide any sort of status based on this demonstrated line of reasoning….
So, once again…
Can someone provide evidence and a URL to link this guys actions to a Jihad proclamation?
gravenimage says
The idea that Jihad Watch should be prevented from reporting on a story unless the Jihadist is specifically recorded screaming “Allahu Akbar!” is absurd.
gravenimage says
What claptrap from Ed here. Jihad terror groups from all over the world have urged knife Jihad, and Muslims have responded.
Ed says
gravenimage, am I in some way asking a difficult question or not being clear in my query? I ask for a simple show of evidence, a key factor in forming a belief and I get your reply.
Let me direct this to you and try (yet again)… This article attributes a motive and belief system to the criminal. What confirmable evidence can you or anyone on this thread offer to support this…
Wow, I honesty can’t understand how I can re-frame this to get to an answer…
gravenimage says
Ed doesn’t have to “reframe” this. Muslims have been going on stabbing sprees against Infidels all over the world–many of them scream “Allahu Ackbar!”, some do not. The idea that Jihad Watch should not be allowed to report on this clear phenomenon is grotesque.
A notebook was found in the murderer’s truck, which may reveal more specifics. Of course, if that notebook is full of Jihad, then Ed here will likely have nothing more to say.
Whistling_Dixie says
The guy is a murdering criminal but let’s save some of that outrage for our own unique domestically grown murderers.

I am an over the road truck driver. I have been continually saddened over the past 3 years at the huge numbers of Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs Trump has brought in to drive truckc, replacing American drivers. The numbers are phenomenal, huge, I believe welk over 100,000, on top of what Obama brought in.
I should not be surprised. Even before the 2016 election, we knew Trump hired only illegals at his Casino in Florida, falsely saying no Americans wanted to work there. I will not be voting for Trump this year.

My opinion, and apparently the opinion of a number of others, Facebook be damned. Jihad Watch tolerates generally the truth. A private company, unless it is a “public accommodation” is not bound by the Constitution. “Then, Seventh-Day Adventism does not teach violence as this poster pretends.”
Actually that is an understatement. The Seventh-day Adventist Church negotiated an agreement with the Federal Government that “conscientious objectors” who are drafted into military service would automatically be placed in the medical corps where they would not be required to train with or carry arms.
