The French navy, along with British authorities, are actually engaging in people smuggling, during the coronavirus lockdown to boot, with taxpayers footing the bill. The people smugglers of Libya are showcased in the media, but not so much the aid that French and British officials are giving to them. This is a scandal that should be plastered on front pages worldwide, but as usual, it is being ignored by the establishment media.

Politician and journalist Nigel Farage has said he witnessed illegal aliens being shepherded to British territorial waters “with the active participation of the French Navy” who coordinated with UK Border Force in offloading migrants into England.
On Wednesday, Mr Farage reported from the English Channel that he witnessed French navy vessels “escorting” boats out of French waters in British territory. During that time, he said that the British coast guard had threatened to “commandeer” the vessel he was travelling in if he persisted in filming migrants being transferred to British authorities.
“The French Navy escorts migrant boats out of French waters and into British waters so that our Border Force can accept them and take their passengers into Dover to begin their lives in the United Kingdom,” Mr Farage wrote in The Telegraph on Thursday.
Describing what he termed “the handover”, Mr Farage outlined the measures both French and British authorities had taken to try to prevent him from reporting on the incident.
After hearing that French naval ship the Fourmentin was escorting a small dinghy towards the English coast, the captain of Mr Farage’s vessel began to head back towards French territorial waters.
“Then the trouble began,” the Brexit Party leader wrote, saying that the French “began threatening us by radio” and claiming that he was “interfering with a search and rescue mission”.
“Presumably, the French show such hostility in order to hide the truth. They do not want anyone to know what is really going on, but we saw it — and we recorded it,” Mr Farage said.
“Close alongside the migrant dinghy was a small French inflatable raft that had come off the mother ship. This stayed very close to the dinghy to ensure safety. As a Border Force vessel approached, Fourmentin very deliberately put herself between us and the ‘handover’ that was taking place. The French knew we had a camera on board from their previous sighting and they did not want this activity to be filmed,” he wrote.
“Even more shockingly, the UK Coastguard then spoke over VHF radio to my skipper and told him that if anybody filmed the handover, his boat would be held in port,” he said.
The journalist then described the damning conversation between Border Force and the French Navy over the radio, saying that “the French conceded that they must do things differently next time, aware that they had been rumbled. Incredibly, our side responded by saying: ‘Thank you for your assistance.’ Yes, really. UK Border Force officials gave thanks to the French for escorting illegal migrants into British waters.”
“For some time, I have wondered why no media organisation has touched this story. Now that I know the truth — and given it was relatively easy to establish the facts — I am even more puzzled by this collective failure to scrutinise,” Mr Farage wrote.
Reporting on illegal immigration in recent weeks — a matter of public interest — has come at personal cost to Mr Farage, who has received a visit from the police for travelling during lockdown, and condemnation from the establishment.
However, on Thursday, Mr Farage was vindicated when the mainstream media was forced to begin reporting on the increase in illegal boat migrants and the accusations that the French are actively helping them.
The phenomenon of mostly Middle Eastern migrants “fleeing” France — a safe, European Union country — to seek asylum in the United Kingdom has seen a rapid rise over the last few weeks, with at least 1,085 people arriving on Britain’s shores since the coronavirus lockdown began on March 23rd….

Almost certainly, but right now a constitutional crisis may be the only thing that can save the UK because God knows the present observation of the largely unwritten constitution is obviously not proving adequate to save Britain from itself.
Unlike the Danish Queen, Margrethe, Elizabeth hasn’t even stated that if you’re going to come to the UK you need to accept its values. Elizabeth has effectively done nothing as her nation has gone from free to unfree and inundated with followers of a religion who have nothing but contempt for traditional British culture.
And if the Queen’s “only significant existence is in the imagination of her people,” which quite frankly sounds like word salad, this simply isn’t enough. By now, Elizabeth should have spoken publicly about what is happening to her nation. Someone needs to perform CPR, call 911, get out the crash cart, administer supplemental oxygen, get a rhythm strip, defibrillate if in V. fib, start an IV, administer any necessary ACLS cardio drugs, transport to an ER, etc.
Fear of a “constitutional crisis” should not prevent BOLD action.

Invoking your medical expertise and knowledge, I would be most interested in whether you think the lock down due to the coranavirus (thanks, China) has truly been necessary? It strikes me as overkill or, to put it another way, the cure increasingly is looking to this non-medical amateur as worse than the disease. After all, there is not just physical harm that must be taken into account, but psychological harm and economic harm too. And respecting physical harm, what of the herd immunity thesis?

Yes, thanks, China for the coronavirus – it could have been contained in Wuhan.
That being said, I’ll try to be very concise, talk in generalities – and avoid a lot of medical jargon…
I have been following COVID-19 very carefully. I’m involved in my regional medical society and have been on several CDC calls. I have also talked with ER physicians and infectious disease specialists.
The initial lockdown was the appropriate thing to do. At that point in time, there were too many unknowns. The medical community did not know the degree of transmissibility or lethality of the virus. There was a realistic fear of overwhelming our medical infrastructure. Letting the virus “burn through” the country counting on “herd immunity” would have eventually played itself out – but at an unknown risk.
We now have a lot more data in order to make informed recommendations. The virus is highly contagious via the respiratory route. It is also highly lethal to, primarily, high risk groups. The elderly with multiple, and serious, medical problems are most susceptible to a bad outcome. Individuals at any age, with multiple serious medical problems, are also susceptible – but less so. Young healthy individuals are at very low risk, generally have little or no symptoms, and recover completely. Every once in a while a young healthy individual will have an unfortunate idiosyncratic reaction.
With more coronavirus testing, we are finding a lot more cases – as expected. This is increasing the “denominator” and thus markedly decreasing the lethality percentage. It is starting to look more and more like the numbers that we would see in the seasonal flu – if there were no flu vaccine.
The problem with coronavirus testing is that it only shows one snapshot in time. If 100 random people were tested today, the number of positive results would change if they were retested again, say, three days later. Antibody testing gives different types of information. If an individual has a positive antibody test, they likely contracted coronavirus, recovered, and develop antibodies. It is believed that these antibodies provide at least some degree of immunity.
At this point, the low risk individuals should reengage in their lives – particularly ones who are positive for antibodies. Social distancing – the 6 foot rule – is still important to help protect those at higher risk. Those individuals at average risk should also reengage their lives, albeit with more robust CDC driven precautions. Those at the highest risk should use extreme caution until a vaccine is developed.
Yes, the country has to open up again – cautiously. You are correct, the lockdown has caused very significant morbidity and mortality unrelated to the actual virus.
Rapid five-minute COVID-19 testing shows promise as a screening measure for individuals before entering a “close quarters” indoor worksite. Antibody testing should also have widespread use. Outdoor activities with social distancing should not be a problem. This includes outdoor restaurants under tents, etc.
Treatments are improving. For instance, some antivirals show promise as well as infusion of convalescent antibodies. Antibiotics can still be used to treat secondary infections. And other treatment options are undergoing testing.
Once an effective vaccine is available, and widely administered, the coronavirus will more closely mimic the seasonal flu. At that point, the entire US economy could fully open up.
I could go on and on, but I wanted to keep this focused. I hope that I helped to answer your questions.

What stood out to both of us above all is your statement toward the end of your comment where you asserted the entire US economy could fully open up once an effective vaccine is developed. But what if an effective vaccine is never developed? Or is it a given that such a vaccine will eventually come along? But what if it takes years?
Also, my wife has had cancer (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma over ten years ago—and declared “cured” some six years ago) but she has been told that because her white blood cell count is usually under 4, she cannot take a live vaccine. This concerns us very much—and not just respecting the coronavirus but any nasty virus or bacteria lurking out there for which a live vaccine is developed. Does this accord with your understanding?
I also want to reiterate my contempt for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Their callousness and carelessness inflicted this virus on the world. In fact, I don’t rule out that a calculation was made once the virus wasn’t contained that inflicting it on the world (and especially the US) could benefit China. The fact that on January 23rd the CCP disallowed flights from Wuhan to other Chinese cities but allowed them from Wuhan to the rest of the world in no way contradicts this hypothesis; indeed, it supports it. I put nothing past the CCP and think it arguable that its leaders could be charged with waging biological warfare. Xi is the most effective and influential brutal dictator on the planet.
I taught many Chinese students over the course of my college teaching career and what struck me about so many of them is how brutally honest they were. One female student said out loud in class that the Chinese are racist and they don’t care who knows it. Even more telling was a male student I taught who said to me that as bad as many people think the Chinese are, they’re even worse.

So glad that your wife has recovered! Nothing makes me happier than knowing that an individual has fully recovered from a very serious illness!
You are correct, even though your wife has recovered, live vaccines are still contraindicated in patients who have fully recovered from Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Lots of different vaccines are currently being tested. I have included a link to the Mayo Clinic, a trusted website. Perhaps there will be several versions of the vaccine, both live and inactivated. I’m sure that a significant percentage of folks will fall under your wife’s category and will need in inactivated version.
I strongly believe that an effective vaccine will be developed. The push to develop a safe and effective vaccine this rapidly is unprecedented. Money is no object and all unnecessary red tape will be cut. My personal prediction is that a vaccine will be ready for use sometime in 2021.
Is it possible that a safe and effective vaccine will never be developed? Theoretically possible, but unlikely. The good news is, even without a vaccine, the United States – as well as the rest of the world – will eventually develop “herd immunity”. These are folks who have recovered from coronavirus (or who have received a safe and effective vaccine) and have developed their own natural antibodies. Currently, it is believed that herd immunity will be achieved against COVID-19 once at least approximately 70% of the population is resistant. I have a reference from WebMD that states 50-67%, I would say at least 70% to be on the safe side, maybe higher.
I share your contempt for the Chinese Communist Party. I wouldn’t put anything past this communist government. Somehow, they will need to be held accountable – and the United States has some tools in its toolbox. I trust that Pres. Trump, along with some other world leaders, will address this.
Apart from the Chinese Communist Party, I’ve known many fine and wonderful people from China. And they never seem to need any help with their math…

Thanks too for the links. When I play amateur doctor I often go to WebMD and the Mayo Clinic sites which usually are very helpful.
I also concur that many individual Chinese are wonderful people and I don’t hold a grudge against the Chinese in general. Far from it actually since many of the Chinese students I taught I got along with quite well. When I first encountered Chinese students in the 1980’s their English was rather rough, but by the time I left teaching in 2013 I had many Chinese from either the mainland or Taiwan who spoke (and wrote) English perfectly and with little or no accent. You know, considering that China has about 1.3 billion people and English is being taught almost universally in the schools, you may very soon, if not already, have more people in China who speak English than in America.
One other thing I noticed about Chinese students is that far more than Koreans or Japanese, or even many Europeans for that matter, they caught on very quickly to American humor. Not even a close call here respecting this. Numerous Chinese students I taught told me that in China America is held in wonder because of its many extraordinary achievements though I also detected a collective desire that China will learn from America and surpass it. This certainly corresponds with what the CCP intends, though in a truly ruthless way.
