Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Morocco: Police arrest actor for blasphemy against Islam after he calls on people to “perform prayers with whiskey”

May 30, 2020 1:00 pm By Robert Spencer

Boubker’s excuse is that he was drunk. That is unlikely to fly among the Islamic supremacists he has enraged.

Meanwhile, this is a glimpse into the future of the U.S. This can’t happen here, you say? We respect the freedom of speech, you say? Maybe that was true at one time, but it is no longer. Cowardice is pandemic. Newspapers all over the country refused to republish the notorious Muhammad cartoons out of a newfound “respect” for Islam that they never showed for negative portrayals of Christianity, which they hailed as “courageous.” Those who call attention to the ideological roots of jihad violence are excoriated as racist, bigoted “Islamophobes,” and most organizations on both the Left and the Right would never dare feature such people as speakers. Any organization that does is immediately denounced and called upon to apologize, and it usually does. So given that this is the climate today, what do you think the situation will be like in ten or twenty years?

“Police Arrest Moroccan Actor Rafik Boubker For Blasphemy Against Islam,” by Hamza Guessous, Morocco World News, May 26, 2020:

Rabat – Police have opened a preliminary investigation into the criminal acts attributed to the Moroccan actor, Rafik Boubker, after placing him in custody this evening. The procedure follows the decision of the public prosecutor of Casablanca’s Court of First Instance.

The General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) said in a statement that it had “monitored digital content published on social media, in which the suspect appears in an abnormal condition, insulting the Islamic religion and violating the reverence for acts of worship.”

The DGSN added that it has received several complaints from citizens on the matter which prompted them to open a judicial investigation. Security services aim to uncover the full circumstances of the criminal act and identify those involved in recording and sharing the video.

Boubker appeared in a live video on Instagram on Monday insulting the Islamic religion, violating reverence for acts of worship, and offending imams.

“We are at the mosque since bars are closed because of the lockdown. The bar of the mosque,” said Boubker in the video.

He then mockingly told people “to make their ablution with wine and perform prayers with whiskey.”…

Boubker rapidly responded to the criticism he provoked by posting another video in which he apologizes for his self-declared wrongful statements.

In the video, Boubker extended his apologies to the public while admitting that he was not aware of the gravity of his remarks nor the controversy it would create, explaining his actions by saying he was under the influence of alcohol.

The actor emphasized that he did not renounce his religion and will always be a Muslim.

Most of the Muslims I’ve met love beer! Whiskey is more up-scale … that’s why these snobbish bigots are so intolerant. Actor Rafik Boubker is being persecuted because he didn’t say ‘beer’.

    It’s reverse class discrimination.

You haven’t seen hypocrisy until you’ve flown out of an Islamic State on their National Airline. As soon as the aircraft has left the country’s airspace, the shrouds come off the women, the high heels go on, and suddenly the carts in the aisle have more than peanuts, water and tea.

The islamic dictatorship in action, once they get a foot in the door you can kiss freedom of speech and life to be gone. Be aware the muslim migration invasion is on its way to your neighborhood and it will be hateful and violent.

I have personally witnessed muslims consuming large amounts of alcohol – publicly.

When I was in Bahrain back in the 1990s, muslims from Saudi Arabia would arrive in droves on the weekends to hit the bars in Bahrain. Lots and lots of alcohol consumed.

And then they went back to strict sharia compliant Saudi Arabia – like nothing happened.

    Oh the hypocrisy…

Ditto, James, for the extensive same-sex “activities” among Muslims even though homosexuality is forbidden upon pain of death per Mo’s creed. I have spoken to several Iraq veterans who manifested their disgust to me about all the man-boy “stuff” they witnessed (and who also told me they were told by senior general staff to just look the other way—can’t offend Muslims, now can we?).

You know, James, it took me a while to realize how much harm Bush 43 did to America and the truth (and I voted for him twice). His massive ignorance of Islam, which I have no reason to think still does not persist, led him to the monumental stupidity of trying to erect democracy in a Muslim land.

I don’t blame Bush for taking out Saddam Hussein, who was a megalomaniac out of control, and who, per every major intelligence agency on the planet, still was thought to be hiding WMDs. SH and his despicable sons had to go, but thereafter Bush should have picked out some Iraqi military officer along the lines of a Mubarak type who would keep order in just another God-forsaken Muslim land without being too brutal. And a few Special Forces here and there to take out the extra bad guys now and then would have been OK.

But to engage in nation-building with any Islamic polity, especially when the ultimate design is a true democracy, is a fool’s errand. Hence, verily and thus, Bush 43 was (and probably still is, a fool). And then he was followed by someone even worse—Obama.

Guess the “pearly boys” promised in the child-like Islamic afterlife “inspires” such followers of the worst religion ever. What a monumental and aggregate hypocrite is Islam. It is sick through and through—the finest example in history of religion gone bad.

And time is way overdue for the West in the political realm, academia and the media to realize this. The bitter irony here is that all these Western politicians, Western academics and Western media types, who continue to portray the Islamic world as somehow OK or even a victim, would be the first to go should Islam ever get its way in the West. Stupidity on steroids.

        Greetings Wellington,

You are certainly correct about Pres. George W. Bush, and I also voted for him twice. I look back now and realize how strange, misleading, and destructive his statements were regarding islam. He actually described islam as a “religion of peace and tolerance” likely right out of a CAIR playbook.

Your comments regarding Iraq are on target. The actual invasion itself was, overall, a remarkably successful military operation, resulting in the capture of Baghdad and the fall of the regime in a little less than four weeks.

        The real problems then started…

In my opinion, following the invasion, perhaps the first big blunder was this:

The military and security services were disbanded without a Disarm, Demobilize, and Retrain (DDR) program. This left over one million Iraqi men loose on the streets with no money, no way of supporting their families – and no transferable skills.

        And you know the rest…

I think GWB and Ataturk made the same mistake: they left Islam in tact. Weaning the population off Islam would have been harder for Ataturk in early 20th-C Turkey than it would’ve been for Bush in late 20th-C Iraq. Separating mosque and state doesn’t even scratch the surface.

With the greatest respect, Anjuli, I don’t think that Bush would have had any luck weaning Muslims off Islam in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

That being said, allowing these nations to use Islam as the basis for their laws was particularly clueless.

Morocco: Police arrest actor for blasphemy against Islam after he calls on people to “perform prayers with whiskey”
    …………………

If someone said you should perform Christian or Jewish prayers with whisky, it would just be considered pretty stupid–no one would be arrested or face charges over it.

And remember–Morocco is supposed to be “moderate”.

If Islam had a once of tolerance he would survive. It depends of the Imam if he gets a second chance I hope he survives.
