Van der Graaf explained that he murdered Fortuyn, a Leftist politician who was smeared as “far right” for opposing mass Muslim migration into the Netherlands on human rights grounds, “to protect Muslims.” What will van der Graaf do to protect them now?
“Volkert van der Graaf officially a completely free man again,” translated from “Volkert van der Graaf officieel weer volledig vrij man,” The Post Online, April 30, 2020 (thanks to RB):
Volkert van der Graaf was sentenced to eighteen years in prison for the murder of politician Pim Fortuyn and is now a free man. Van der Graaf shot Fortuyn dead on May 6, 2002 at the Mediapark in Hilversum, where the politician had just given a radio interview. The police were able to arrest Van der Graaf near the crime scene shortly after the murder.
Van der Graaf (50) was convicted on appeal in 2003 by the Amsterdam court of appeal. The court had also imposed an eighteen-year sentence upon him, after a demand from the Public Prosecution Service for a life sentence. The Justice Service saw the murder not only as an attack on the politician, but also on democracy. The court did not follow that line of reasoning. The prosecution also demanded a life sentence on appeal, but the sentence remained unchanged.
In recent years, Van der Graaf no longer had to be in prison because – since May 2014 – he was on parole. He had to comply with various conditions, such as a duty to report and a ban on talking to the media. Van der Graaf then successfully challenged a number of conditions in legal proceedings.
“Given the imposed sentence, the probation period of the conditional release is six years, which means that the probation period ends on April 30, 2020,” wrote the OM in an explanation on Thursday. “With that, the person concerned has fully undergone the imposed sentence and is no longer under the supervision of the Public Prosecution Service or the probation service; there are no more conditions for him.”

If you kill a human being in cold blood as this animal did (and yes, he is an animal), then you should be executed.
If you take a life by way of murder (and I don’t here really want to get into the difference between first degree murder and second degree murder), not manslaughter, you should forfeit your own life. Less than this is evidence of both intellectual and moral weakness masquerading as some kind of compassion and wisdom—it is neither.
This man should be dead by now but the stupidity surrounding what constitutes justice in one Western nation after another has become so skewered that it is an abomination pure and simple. And what if this man kills again? Guaranteed, all those against the death penalty, weak minded people as they are, will feel NO OBLIGATION whatsoever to be in any way responsible.
There is disgusting and then there is beyond disgusting. This man’s present “status” being still alive and free fits into the latter category.

Guess he forgot what Muslims believe their guy in the sky said (another bastardization of the truth, of course):
If you take the life of one…
gravenimage says
That only applies to Jews, of course, PRCS–not Muslims.
CogitoErgoSum says
Yes, the Muslim god says that death is one of the penalties for creating mischief in the land. Van der Graaf was judge, jury and executioner in the case of Fortuyn and his perceived “mischief.” In this killer’s system of justice the lives of a whole world of Infidels are not equal to the life of a single Muslim. He accepts that Infidels are creatures damned to Hell anyway and their lives are in no way sacred to him … or his god.

Yes, (another bastardization of the truth, of course):

Wellington,
Excellent post, my compliments.
100% agree.

How could The Netherlands forget their oppression under Hitler and invite another ideology, embued with the same arrogant intention of domination, with stealthy machinations, take its place?
And why should any jihadist, hopped up on Quran, Hadiths, and the easy taps into the EU welfare systems have any respect for a nation which has no punishment that comes close to those meted out in Islamic “cultures”, or, historically by, “The Prophet”? Eleven years being fed, housed, provided with time, and worship materials to share with the “brothers” must be quite reforming…

I’ve been wondering about that too.

Very simple, straight forward assessment of the situation.
Well written.

no supervision
Which likely means the police won’t be watching him day and night.
That COULD be a good thing.
Think positively.

I doubt anyone is going to go after Van der Graaf. Really, this is just projection.

Hope springs eternal.

Convicted sometime in 2003 – out on parole since May 2014 – so that’s around 11 years for carrying out the planned assassination of an elected politician in order to further the advance of Islam.
The legal systems of Europe are down on their bellies and grovelling.

Damn right.

Yes, hideous. This, for First Degree, cold-blooded murder.

Netherlands: Man who murdered pro-freedom politician Pim Fortuyn “to protect Muslims” is a free man, no supervision
…………………..
Will this murderer go after Geert Wilders next, for daring to say that Islam is dangerous?
RonaldB says
This actually says more about the national character and legal system of the Netherlands than it does about Van der Graaf or Islam. Everyone knows, even if they won’t admit it, that Islam is a violent religion and that Muslims who enforce the “honor” of Islam by cold-blooded killing are honored. They know perfectly well what will happen to any public figure that criticizes Islam too vigorously.
Western nations seem to be getting larger proportions of people who support the destruction of their own society through some pretext or another. Identity politics contributes: white Westerners constantly weaken their sense of identity, while non-white Western citizens focus ever more strongly on benefits for their own group. Lighter sentences for crimes such as murder used to work in more homogeneous, shaming societies, such as Sweden, Norway or, it seems, even Holland. These social mores and bindings dissolved when they admitted alien, hostile populations as citizens.
There was likely a window after the dysfunction of the “shaming” concept in criminal justice became apparent, but before the political balance had tipped to the point where it was virtually impossible to impose more penalties on criminals. The criminals shared group cohesion with identity groups. Anyway, the Netherlands political establishment chose to ignore the coming storm, did not prepare for it. I seriously doubt if it would be possible to pass any sort of change in criminal penalties, unless it was to stiffen sentences on white Dutch who disrespect religion (Islam).
The US has the benefit of harsher penalties for violent crimes (although sentences for violent minorities seem to be getting de jure shorter, given the pretext of the Corona-19 virus). But, does anyone feel it would be possible at this point to increase penalties for violent crime in the Congress or most of the state legislatures?

There are times when I could almost despair for the future of western Europe. Then I remember Darwin’s Law and consider that societies so degenerate, so weak, so bloody stupid simply do not deserve to survive. Hope comes from the east – Poland, Hungary and Russia will keep the flame burning, perhaps in a century the French, Dutch and Germans will have found some courage and will rise up to reclaim their countries. There will be much blood.

It’s what Communists and Muslims, who have defined, long-tern goals work toward that, abetted by short-sighted Social Justice Warriors and a Press which publicly lauds the last two.
The Third Reich, promoted as a thousand year program lasted but a few.
Islam: 1400 years.

There is no justice for capital crime without capital punishment. The Netherlands, the EU, and the UK all have very weak leaders. Those countries will not survive.

Don’t count on it, Terry. Muslims have widely infiltrated biker gangs, and there is now a chapter of the Hell’s Angels in Turkey.
