On this Memorial Day amid a pandemic of cowardice, pusillanimity, and authoritarian overreach, we remember when we had strong and patriotic leaders in both parties, and love for this country was not stigmatized.
We still have strong individuals who have vowed the defense of our nation, and for that we can be grateful, but they are being led by a political class so dominated by people who are ignorant of prevailing realities, and so deeply compromised, that they endanger us all — while a likewise compromised establishment media does everything it can to cover for them and defame those who sound the alarm about this problem.
And so we remember that in our nation’s darkest days, there arose strong, rough men — the ones to whom Churchill referred when he noted that “we sleep safely at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would harm us.” For that we pause today to offer our gratitude, and our hope that there still remains enough of them to see us through this present darkness. Our resolve to remain free is iron; now all we need are more leaders with similar resolve.

Your best post so far Robert. Amen.

Since today is Memorial Day it’s therefore very appropriate to site the wisdom of the first Constitutional President of the United States of America, George Washington, who had, so well explained “To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace.” Moreover President Washington stated that “However pacific the general policy of the nation may be ,it ought never be without an adequate stock of military knowledge for emergencies.”
Furthermore, with this post- 9/11 USA it should likewise be remembered that one very good way to defeat the jihadists who compose the many brutal and deadly Islamic terror entities ,such as al Qaeda, ISIS, the Taliban, is by the means of a very strong power of US military might. As Thomas Jefferson had declared “With every barbarous people …force is law.”

What a pity the Commander-in-Chief was a cowardly draft dodger with a ‘poorly foot’. He sounds more like a strong, rough girl.

I see that “eddie” is here sneering at women who have given their lives for America. No surprise here…
eddie says
Wrong!
I’ve got great respect for either men or women who have given their lives fighting tyranny. I’ve got no time for the rich New York borderline gangster who crapped his pants and avoided fighting for his country in Vietnam.

Were this true, of course, “eddie” here would not have compared him to a girl.

yes, i guess the constitutional requirement that the president be a perfect human being was overlooked in mr. trump’s case; how shocking indeed! lots of people back then didn’t serve, and some even came up with mealy-mouthed excuses and got away with it (like mr. clinton, who hid out in the UK). rather than look back at past mis-steps, i would rather look at presidential actions. so far, mr. trump seems to be doing a lot better than most of his recent predecessors, especially the most recent one.
so in which branch of the military did U serve, eddie? were U in combat? if so, today is a great day to thank U; if not, did U not serve because U didn’t get drafted during a war (or ran away to canada), or was it because U thought that it was better to let us poor folks of the stupid stinking masses serve in your stead?

Sorry old mate, but I was born in dear old England.
Mind you, I’d have backed British soldiers to do a far better job against a bunch of Vietnamese farmers than your lot.
You wouldn’t get a British Grenadier complaining about a bone spur.

Wait–hasn’t “eddie” in the past castigated the United States for opposing Communism in Vietnam? I guess that just like the Jihadists he so often carries water for, he feels no need to be consistent.

Eddie, You should be thankful that the USA bailed your country out in two wars. Our industries provided equipment and our men took the fight to the Axis powers. Oh and don’t forget about your great leader “peace in our time” Chamberlain. Our people even sent their personal firearms to Britain after your fine form of government disarmed its’ law abiding citizens. To go back further, your British soldiers tried to disarm our ancestors and we kicked their asses in two wars.
Phil Copson says
So you’d sooner have relied on President Hillary Clinton to defend the USA – which planet are you from again ?

Given his appalling posting history here, I doubt very much that “eddie” wants anyone to defend the United States.

That’s a beautiful sentiment, Spencer, wonderfully expressed. I think of all the good men and women who fought and died defending the freedoms we enjoy today, freedoms that are getting crushed inch-by-inch for islam’s totalitarian agenda and the leftists who help them. Every time some islamic appeaser lies and shills for islam they spit in the face of every patriot who helped make America great, every time the left ignores the humanitarian crimes of islam they degrade our best nature that wants equality and freedom for all. They are like a ball and chain that weighs us down from future progress, morally and intellectually. A little more honesty on their part would go a long way in resolving the difficulties and challenges of islam. You can’t fix a problem if those who are against you don’t even admit a problem exists. I believe Islam truly is the world’s greatest problem, the ignorance and violence it teaches is written in the blood of millions. But frustratingly, I feel that good people like you and JW fans are like a guy trying to drive a 10 pound nail with an inch long hammer. We hammer away with the truth but never seem to get anywhere, that ugly rusty nail just sits there stubbornly mocking our efforts. But if it’s one thing I’ve learned about history it’s that good people often do prevail over evil, decent people do win if they stay strong for the truth. If we had only a 1% chance of defeating the evils of islam then it’s still a fight worth fighting, since even losing would be a victory if it inspires more good action in the future. As long as Western patriots keep fighting for the truth against islam the light of freedom won’t die. We know that we are “right” even if the crazy self-serving majority says we’re wrong, and I say unabashedly, I think that makes us good people for doing what we know is best for everyone. So even as I’m disheartened to see so much of what we love get destroyed for islam, I am encouraged to know that our good efforts will be the inspiration for others who love freedom as much as us.
I rarely take the time to thank those who have worked hard for my freedoms, but I would like to do so now this Memorial Day. Thank you to those who have fought, struggled, served, for my freedom and nation. I truly am blessed to be born and live in America, “land of the free and home of the brave.”

Yes, Robert, it isn’t great, and considering where this country comes from one could despair. But having lived in many European countries I can assure you that everything is still golden here. Churchill would be in prison today for writing what he wrote about islam, so the UK ist lost. We spend the day with two Anglican couples (one is a priest) and their 6 kids. Salt of the earth. America is still the shining city on the hill and with your efforts it will shine longer.

Apropos to Mr. Spencer’s sentiments, the Governor of New Jersey recently spent about five minutes praising the followers of the mass murdering, sex slave owning. child molesting, rapist for obediently observing Ramadan. What an ignorant tool!

He’s just a stupid-stupid ignorant politician! Sad that he gets so much ‘air time.’
