Ignite? A religious war is already going on, and has been for quite some time. Get the details in The Palestinian Delusion.
“Arab League: Israeli annexation could ignite a religious war,” Associated Press, June 24, 2020:
UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The head of the Arab League is warning that Israel’s annexation of parts of the West Bank would endanger Middle East peace and could ignite “a religious war in and beyond our region.” Ahmed Aboul Gheit told a high-level U.N. Security Council meeting Wednesday that annexation “would not only be detrimental to the chances of peace today but will destroy any prospects for peace in the future.” He said it will also have ramifications on international security. U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Israel to abandon its annexation plans…

Do they mean the war that started in 622 AD when almost everybody became tired of Muhammad and his propheteering.
mortimer says
Uh … well … yeah! When Mohammed began his terror attacks, the ‘religious warfare’ has not stopped.
The 164 jihad verses in the Koran are seen as valid until Muslims perceive that the Koran is of human origin. Many are seeing that and millions are quietly dropping out of the Death Cult.
In an age of human rights, it is hard to imagine who one can justify being in favor of the Islamic SLAVE cult.

May I add brainwashing to that

When does one Muslim war end and the next Muslim one begin?

Answer to EG: the warfare doesn’t end, but changes into a quiescent form until Muslims regain their energy, strength and momentum to conquer. All truces in Islam are temporary.
owensgate says
Nonsense. Nothing will happen. Israel’s nemesis’s will huff and puff and say as evildoers do, then accept it, as they have with every other perceived “illegal” expansion of Israel’s rightful Promised Land.
mortimer says
Agree. If Israel takes it step by step, no one will care, except for pro-forma statements of diplomatic disapproval … if that. Thereafter, it will be business as usual. I think Muslims are tired of this PSYCHODRAMA and most don’t believe it. The Holy Land has been the Hebrew homeland for 4,000 years.

True, owensgate and Mortimer. Remember the threats and hysteria from Muslims when the US moved her Embassy to Jerusalem? When Trump went boldly ahead the Muslims quieted down.
Wellington says
What BS. 78% of the British Palestine Mandate was sectioned off in 1922 to create Transjordan (and with no Jews allowed, even in graves which were dug up by Muslims and desecrated). The other 22% per the 1947 UN partition plan gave Jews about 13% of the original British Mandate with the Arabs getting the other 9% (it is important to know that the somewhat larger share the Jews got per the 1947 plan included the Negev Desert which is quite different respecting the fertility of the soil that the Arabs got, i.e., the far more fertile area now known as the West Bank). Included in this 1947 UN plan was that Jerusalem would belong to neither Arabs nor Jews but would be an international city under UN control.
The Jews accepted this UN proposal, though it greatly diminished their original expectations. The Arab and Muslim world in general did not. And thus the first Israeli-Arab war ensued the next year and where and when Israeli forces, as they invariably have, proved far superior to Arab forces (really, is there anything the Arab world does well?—I know of nothing so dysfunctional and incompetent, respecting a major people, as is the Arab sphere of mankind).
Bottom line here should be obvious to all but the obtuse or malevolent, to wit, the Islamic world wants no Israel at all. This is not about Judea and Samaria, call it the West Bank if you wish. No, not at all. Israel could give away half of its already very small country (only about 8,000 square miles) and this still would not be enough. Israel could give away three quarters of its nation and still the Muslim world would say this is not enough. The reason is so effing obvious, i.e., the Muslim world wants no Israel at all, not even one square mile worth.
Israel is an heroic nation and the only beacon of light in a very dark corner of the world. BTW, Black Lives Matter (BLM) is replete with faults, bias and stupidities. One of them is that this disgusting, thuggish, Marxist organization is pro-Palestinian and has ludicrously accused Israel of genocide. Just for the record.
The Arab world sucks. The Islamic world sucks. And BLM sucks.
Long live Israel. Just for the record.

It’s ALWAYS about keeping Muslims happy. If they’re not they threaten war. The UN has served as appeasement extrodinare
Wellington says
And not just for the Islamic world, but for the Communist Bloc as well during the Cold War.
The UN is also a forum where representatives of authoritarian regimes come to lecture the representatives of democratic regimes about what they’re doing wrong. It sucks up a huge amount of money too from the freest nations to extend such payments to the worst nations or awful organizations like UNRWA.
The UN needs to go the way of the League of Nations. It has been an utter failure, something Winston Churchill realized by the late 1950’s.
Time is way overdue for the US and many other countries to pull out of the UN. And America should tell the UN it is no longer welcome in NYC. Use any legal excuse to close down the UN in NYC—right of eminent domain or whatever.
The UN is a cruel farce and there is no way of getting around this—if truth is important to a person, which sadly for many it is not.

Agreed.
Perhaps it should be replaced by a group of nations – led by the United States – that respect Judeo-Christian values, the law rule of law, human rights, etc.
Unfortunately, that would leave out a large part of Western Europe…

The religious war against Israel–the Jihad–has been going on since before her founding in 1948.

This is like Pakistani and Indian Moslems and their Dhimmie supporters like the Indian National Congress! Religious war (Jihad) was launched on civilization by Islam more than a thousand years ago!
