When Mohamed S. was hired, it is virtually certain that no one in the Schaerbeek police department would have dared question him about his loyalty to Belgium vs. his loyalty to the global Islamic umma. To have done so would have been “Islamophobic.”
“Police officer gets 50 months’ suspended sentence on charges of supplying information to terror suspect,” by Michaël Torfs, VRT News, June 19, 2020 (thanks to Gisele):
A police officer from Schaarbeek has been convicted by the Court of Appeal in Brussels for supplying secret information to terror suspect Yassine Atar.
The man was convicted on charges of violating professional secrecy. He got 50 months, but it is a suspended sentence. The man was accused of passing on secret police information to Yassine Atar, the brother of Oussama Atar. Oussama Atar is considered as one of the key figures in the preparation of the March 2016 Brussels terrorist attacks.
The news was revealed by La Dernière Heure and has been confirmed by the policeman’s lawyer. The man worked as a coordinator for the Brussels police zone Brussel Noord (Schaarbeek, Evere and SInt-Joost) and gained access to information about ongoing investigations, possible police raids and data banks of suspects, using his colleagues’ log-ins….
“Attacks in Brussels: police officer who had contact with Yassine Atar sentenced to 50 months in prison,” translated from “Attentats de Bruxelles : le policier qui avait des contacts avec Yassine Atar condamné à 50 mois de prison,” Médias de Bruxelles, June 19, 2020 (thanks to Gisele):
Mohamed S., a 53-year-old Schaerbeek police officer, was sentenced by the Brussels Court of Appeal to 50 months in prison for having repeated contacts with Yassine Atar, brother of the main coordinator of the Brussels and Paris attacks, reports the DH.
Incarcerated and charged in September 2017 for breach of professional secrecy and passive corruption, the police officer was suspected of having given confidential information by SMS and via WhatsApp to Yassine Atar, the brother of the main coordinator of the Brussels and Paris attacks, Oussama Atar. The two brothers are also the cousins of the El Bakraoui brothers, who blew themselves up in the Maelbeek metro station and at Zaventem airport on March 22, 2016, causing the death of 32 people.
According to the DH, the policeman, defended by lawyers Sven Mary and Romain Delcoigne, had transmitted conditional information obtained thanks to his role as inspector of the Brussels-North police zone, to Yassine Atar since 2014. The file reports that 203 Contacts were established between Mohamed S. and Yassine Atar between September 10, 2015 and March 20, 2016, just before the Brussels attacks. The police thus provided information concerning suspects of the attacks in Brussels and Paris during all this period.
Sentenced to 50 months in prison by the Brussels Court of Appeal, the police officer obtained a stay of sentence exceeding his pre-trial detention since September 2017, i.e. 18 months.

A suspended sentence? Only 50 months? People may die because of this sh*** treason. He should have been sentenced to death or 100 years prison.

I agree completely and would add that the loyalties of the judges and their own mental health be seriously investigated.
If they believe that this turd will reform, then they are delusional.
Michael Copeland says
He has already been imprisoned for 30 months, “pre-trial detention since September 2017”.

Michael, the article says 18 months. No reason to suppose this is not accurate.
Shan says
Europe hasn’t learned its lesson from these Islamic terrorists. 50 months sentence is not enough for terrorism.

And his sentence was suspended, Shan.
DH says
I wouldn’t be surprised if he still got a pension and generous severance package.

“Mohammed S.” (Why conceal his name?) is an accessory before the fact to mass murder. Not much of a penalty.

………………..
This should surprise no one.
And why in hell has he been given a *suspended sentence*? 18 months is not 50 months–it is not even half that.
Rufolino says
If this case is typical, (and it seems it is typical) then W.Europe is well down the road to ruin.

Sadly agree, Rufolino.
