Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Human Rights Commission of Pakistan says over 1000 non-Muslim girls forcibly converted to Islam annually

Jun 16, 2020 1:00 pm By Robert Spencer

Notice that Islamic organizations blocked attempts to outlaw this: “the Sindh government attempted to outlaw forced conversions and marriages twice. Though the bill was unanimously passed by the Sindh Assembly, religious parties objected to an age limit for conversions and threatened to besiege the assembly if the bill received the approval of the governor. This resulted in the Governor refusing to sign the bill into law.”

“Over 1000 Non-Muslim girls converted to Islam Annually, says Pakistan’s Human Rights Panel,” Newsroom Post, June 14, 2020 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

At least 1,000 non-Muslim girls have forcibly converted to Islam in Pakistan annually. Many of these girls belong to the Hindu community, according to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s (HRCP’s) own report.

According to the report which highlighted the blatant human rights violations in Pakistan, at least 1,000 non-Muslim girls have forcibly converted to Islam in the country, predominantly from Sindh, which is home to about eight million Hindus.

Last week alone, Pakistan reported as many as seven cases of forced conversions. 4 of therm Hindu girls, as reported by The Spectator.

Legislation against child marriage

Even as Pakistan claims to have passed a legislation against child marriage in 2019, there are no holds barred when it comes to forcible conversions and marriage of underage girls which continue to take place in a region like Sindh which has the Child Marriages Restraint Act in place since 2013. Not to mention that Pakistan is also a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which talks about the importance of freedom of religion clearly stating that no one shall be subjected to coercion to change their religion.

Highest number of persecution and conversion cases

While the Sindh government which faces the highest number of persecution and conversion cases attempted to outlaw forced conversions and marriages twice, religious parties objected to the idea of an “age limit” for conversions. After parties threatened to besiege the assembly, the bill was held back by the Governor who refused to sign it and bring it into force. Numerous Indian political leaders have been a the forefront of exposing Pakistan when such cases come to light.

Back in its 2019 Annual Report, US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) USCIRF had noted that Hindus, Christians and other minority religions in Pakistan “face continued threats to their security and are subjected to various forms of harassment and social exclusion.”

Coercion to change their religion

Pakistan is a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that the right to freedom of religion includes the right to change one’s religion and that no one shall be subject to coercion to change their religion.

Despite these many cases of forced conversions, the country till now has turned down two bills. The bills tabled in 2016 and 2019 demanded that the minimum age for changing one’s religion be set to 18 years, jail terms be sanctioned for anyone guilty of coercion, and a 21-day period in a safe house be mandated for the person seeking conversion to ensure that the decision has been taken out of the free will.

While rejecting the bill in 2016, former Sindh governor Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui, said: ‘When Hazrat Ali [the fourth caliph in Sunni sect, and the first Imam for the Shia] can convert to Islam at a young age [9 years], why can’t Hindu girls?’

This kind of resistance has also been seen during attempts to eradicate child marriage in Pakistan. The Council of Islamic Ideology cited Prophet Muhammad’s marriage to six-year-old Aisha, as narrated in hadiths (compilations of the prophet’s sayings).

Though the country was finally able to pass legislation against child marriage in 2019, the courts still allow forced conversions and marriage of underage girls like in Sindh where the Child Marriages Restraint Act has been in place since 2013.

Outlaw forced conversions and marriages twice

According to Dawn, the Sindh government attempted to outlaw forced conversions and marriages twice. Though the bill was unanimously passed by the Sindh Assembly, religious parties objected to an age limit for conversions and threatened to besiege the assembly if the bill received the approval of the governor. This resulted in the Governor refusing to sign the bill into law.

In 2019, a revised version was introduced by the Sindh government, but again the religious parties protested. A sit-in was organised by Pir Mian Abdul Khaliq (Mian Mithu), a political and religious leader who has participated in many cases of forced conversions of underage Hindu girls in Sindh. He and his group claim the girls are not forced, but fall in love with Muslim men and convert willingly….

These scoundrels are the scum of Earth. They poison every frickin’ place for others and then for themselves. I shudder to even think about the pain and Anguish these vermin cause to the parents of these young girls.

Human Rights Commission of Pakistan says over 1000 non-Muslim girls forcibly converted to Islam annually
    ………………………

These girls are often kidnapped, raped, and then told their entire families will be murdered if they do not convert to Islam. After this they are usually married off to some Muslim thug.

And all non-Muslims make up just a tiny remnant of survivors in Pakistan–which is getting smaller all the time.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women. Blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Only 1000 per year? That number seems deflated to me. With the sharp rate of decline of religious minorities in Pakistan (and other muslim countries as well) being as high as it is, I suspect that the actual number is larger by a factor of 10. The very name “Human Rights Commission of Pakistan” reads like an oxymoron, so forgive me for taking with it has to say with a mountain of salt.

It may be much more, LB, considering that Hindus and Christians who dare report these cases often are themselves arrested this should not surprise.

But there are only about 7 million non-Muslims surviving in Pakistan now, so even if the figure of 1000 per year is taken at face value, this is a disturbingly large number.

British Hindus have demonstrated earlier this year regarding abduction rape and forced conversions of Hindu Pakistani minor girls.

When families go to lodge a complaint the Pakistani Police either encourage them not to file a report about their child’s abduction or misrepresent the details of the complaint should they deign to record it

Should the case come to the Pakistani Court the Pakistani Judiciary dismiss the case either due to their personal vviews on the kidnap and forced conversion of non Muslim girls or their fears for their personal safety should they rule in favour of the girl child and her parents.

After the public protests ( which were not covered in the British Press) the protesters attended the London offices of of the audited Nations Human Rights for Refugees to argue their case. They also emailed and posted letters to the Pakistan Branch of the UK Charity for Children, to the Pakistani branch of UNICEF , the Michele Bachelet who is Chief of UN Human Rights Commission,in Brussels , toUK Labour Keir Star e5, to British PM and British Home Secretary ,

These correspondence and meetings happened in March2020. The British Hindus have received no acknowledgment .

Any advice on strategy gratefully received to be passed on.

All true, Cicero–so the real numbers are actually likely much higher.

Anybody propose to hold this “government” responsible for any of this? Didn’t think so.
