As is well known, the monstrous regiment of anti-Israel “activists” – BDSers, antifa fanatics, Muslim infiltrators at Black Lives Matter rallies – have been attempting to blame Israel for the death of George Floyd. They claim that the police in America learned to use the knee-on-neck method of restraint practiced by Derek Chauvin from the Israeli police. Shortly after Floyd’s death, the Democratic Socialists of America’s BDS national working group tweeted, “The police violence happening tonight in Minneapolis is straight out of the IDF playbook,” adding, “US cops train in Israel.” A pro-BDS petition to the University of California made similar claims.
Al-Awda, the Palestine Right of Return Coalition, a BDS group that has ties to terrorist groups in the Middle East, issued a statement on June 8 that featured a cartoon showing an American police officer and an Israeli soldier, arm-in-arm, sitting with their knees over the necks of a black man and a Palestinian man respectively. The cartoon appeared first on the Fatah Facebook page and was then published in the Palestinian Authority (PA) newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida. That wasn’t all.
“We must stop training our American police officers to be gestapo units. #GeorgeFloyd #Palestine,” tweeted Abbas Hamideh of the same Al-Awda. Similarly, the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights and a student leader in Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) also blamed Israel for the police tactics, claiming that “the Israeli military trains US police in racist and repressive policing tactics, which systematically targets Black and Brown bodies.” Israel, of course, does no such thing. And the American police who have gone to Israel for training can testify to that effect.
Others in the anti-Israel universe have chimed in with similar charges. For many, the death of George Floyd by Derek Chauvin, who never attended any training sessions conducted by Israeli law enforcement, should nonetheless be blamed on Israel, that mighty colonial-settler empire that now bestrides the world like a colossus. No need for evidence. Just make the charge. Repeat it enough and it’s bound to stick. And so, in the great tradition of Linda Sarsour, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Nihad Awad and so many others, the anti-Israel charges came fast and furious at so many of those George-Floyd-Black-Lives-Matter rallies. On many signs the slogan reads: “From Minneapolis to Palestine/Racism is a Crime.”
Still others claimed in the same vein that “We know the Minneapolis police were also trained by Israeli counter-terrorism officers” (not the regular police), according to a ferociously anti-Israel pro-BDS petition at the University of California, signed by dozens of campus groups. It said: “The knee-to-neck choke-hold that Chauvin used to murder George Floyd has been used and perfected to torture Palestinians by Israeli occupation forces through 72 years of ethnic cleansing and dispossession. Police departments view Israeli Defense Force tactics as models for responding to ‘public health and safety crises.”
The Israelis were not about to let those calumnies go unanswered.
The story is at Algemeiner.com.
An Israel Police spokesperson appeared to push back on Tuesday [June 9] against efforts by some activists in far-left circles to blame the Jewish state for police brutality in the US.
Charges that certain tactics — including the knee-to-neck restraint move that led to George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis two weeks ago — were taught to American law enforcement personnel by Israeli counterparts have been circulating online recently.
It was time to state the truth. There are many thousands of national, state, and local police forces around the world, in Europe (France) in South America (Brazil and a dozen others countries), in Asia (India, China), and of course in the United States, that use the knee-on-neck chokehold, all without any input or training from Israel.
On June 9 Israeli Police foreign media spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld tweeted, “There is no procedure that allows an officer of the #israel police dept to carry out an arrest by placing a knee on the neck of a suspect.”
“None of police Counter terrorism training that #Israel national police provide to foreign law enforcement officers involves such a measure,” he added.
These were definitive statements. There is “no procedure” that allows an Israeli police officer “to place a knee on the neck of a suspect.”
The Israelis do not permit their own officers to use such a chokehold. They do not train others in how to perform such a chokehold.
Period. End of story. No wiggle-room was left in that answer by Micky Rosenfeld.
But who will listen to him or to any other defender of Israel when Antifa and BDSers and Palestinian propagandists still manage to shout down those who tell the truth, while they continue to scream their nonsense and lies?
MykeJohn says
When will this “nonsense” against Israel stop?. Undoubtedly with no doubt the prince of the air is still mad (mutually assured destruction) at Israel. But the Rock of Israel is ever ready to defend its chosen one.

Israel is responsible for Geo. Floyd’s death? What a fantastic disconnect.
keith O says
Yeah, Israel are also responsible for climate change, covid 19 and an Israeli was also seen on the grassy knoll in Dallas.
This sort of crap comes straight out of the playbook that the allies of the Mudslimes use. Remember how the Nazi’s blamed the Jews for anything and everything?
Problem is, humans have a short memory and history like this is no longer taught in schools.

As is obvious to some of us, how the Izlamists have quickly and opportunistically hitched their wagon to the BLM movement. Izlamists never let a opportunity go to waste where they can do the chest thumping “we are so persecuted” drama. It’s such a joke that they identify with the blacks when it is evident that Muslims in the middle east and elsewhere are Racist and ill treat blacks

I saw (on Tucker Carlson, I think) that regarding one previous allegedly unlawful act / action by Derek Chauvin, he was defended by Amy Klobuchar (don’t guarantee that I am spelling her surname accurately), and he was acquitted.
If this is correct – thanks Amy!
RonaldB says
Actually, he was investigated on a charge of unnecessary shooting while Klobuchar was a district attorney. She declined to prosecute. Chauvin had 10 complaints against him in 19 years, which for a street cop doesn’t seem out of the ordinary.
The left being the left, declining to prosecute a cop for shooting a black, however justified the shooting, is grounds for banning and ostracizing. Klobuchar is consequently pretty much out of the running for vice-Presidential candidate.
Look at the situation with Rayshard Brooks, who was on video pointing a weapon (possibly a taser, but who knew for sure) at the police and pulling the trigger, before he got shot. The attorney general is talking about charging the cops for murder.

I don’t like to be gaslit by either side. In this case, the claim that Israel never uses the knee on neck (cleverly couched in never used to arrest people) is not true. I include a link to a story that shows pictures. Let me emphasize that I do not agree with the orientation of the article. I’m only referring to it for the pictures. The Israel police have to deal with rock-throwing, molotov-cocktail throwing, knife-carrying rioters who push violence to the furthest extreme they can without actually using guns. Police can be killed just as readily with rocks, knives, or molotov cocktails as with guns.

George Floyd most likely died from a heart attack or heart failure brought on by the stress of the police encounter and the massive amount of fentanyl he had in his system. The coroner report stated he did not die of asphyxiation. He was active for 5 minutes into the knee=hold. If your air is cut off, you’ll be conscious in a lot less than 5 minutes.
Having said that, I think Chauvin is guilty of negligent homicide (pretty much the same as third-degree murder in Minnesota). The reason is that he had 3 fellow officers with him, a non-violent onlooker crowd, and the suspect crying that he couldn’t breathe. Police often hear claims of distress from suspects, but it was highly negligent in the circumstances to not check it out, or at least shift his position.
As far as Israel, it is unremarkable that the far-left groups involved in the US insurrection would use it to tar Israel. Whether or not Chauvin learned the technique from Israel-based training (a possibility), it was his own decision to apply it in such an obtuse way. I’m not saying he learned it in Israel, but may have learned it from someone else who had been trained in Israel.
For the record, as a US nationalist, we have no business sending our police to be trained in other countries. The Palestinians are a unique problem, and need unique methods to deal with them. If the US can’t develop and teach its own methods, we’re far down the chute to distintegration.
Don McKellar says
Not surprised to see the other third of the Axis of Evil rear its head and start pointing its finger at “the Jooooz”. They are, of course, Islamic Supremacists, the forces of Jihad. The world is plagued by three forces of evil, and they all work together eventually:
1) The Marxist Left-fascists (funded by delusional, meddling billionaires who want to rule the world).
2) China (The Chinese Communist Party and their openly stated aim of ruling the world).
3) Islamic Supremacists (Who are funded by Middle East oil money to take over the world for Islam).
Those are three wealthy, ruthless, truly evil forces. And it often seems that the only person standing up against them these days is Donald Trump.

OK, in order to make things as clear and as uncomplicated as possible, let’s suppose for theory’s sake you had to choose between two options, no other options available—either Israel runs all the world over the next decade or the organization, Black Lives Matter (BLM), does. Whom are you choosing respecting this hypothetical?
For the record, I often like to think in terms of extreme, if not impossible, hypotheticals because, paradoxically, they so often shine a light on reality. As here I would argue.
James Lincoln says
Interesting point, Wellington.
Your hypothetical could be used in countless situations…
Consider the hypothetical if all members of the United States Congress were required to be muslims…
