Most of this lengthy piece is just an overview of the various conflicts. There is no serious effort to answer the question in the Jerusalem Post’s title at all. This is because the governing authorities and establishment media in general don’t want to look squarely at or acknowledge the ideological roots of the problem. The teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah exhorting Muslims to wage war against and subjugate unbelievers just don’t exist for mainstream analysts, which is why those analysts keep misunderstanding the nature and magnitude of what they’re facing.
“Why are there more wars in the Middle East than anywhere else?,” by Seth J. Frantzman, Jerusalem Post, June 15, 2020:
Last night, Turkish airstrikes wreaked havoc in northern Iraq. Hours before the airstrikes, the US launched a secretive “ninja” missile at a car in northwest Syria, killing an alleged member of an Al-Qaeda-linked group. Then, around the same time Turkey’s airstrikes were being launched, Iraqi investigators found a flatbed truck with rockets aimed at a base housing US soldiers near Baghdad. There were also Russian airstrikes reported in Idlib on Sunday, June 14.
The huge number of airstrikes and battles taking place in the Middle East make it the most war-torn region in the world, with the largest number of countries and world powers engaged in conflict….
NO OTHER area in the world has so many complex conflicts. Every day in the Middle East there are airstrikes and threats of war or invasions. The region is an area of competition for global powers, such as Russia and the US. It is also an area where regional powers feel impunity to traffic weapons and send their armies across borders. Nowhere else in the world are there so many states operating across national borders or funding and arming proxies.
Drones and new technology are being experimented with and updated in the Middle East. The region has seen ballistic missile strikes at new ranges, drone swarms and the use of air defense such as Iron Dome, Arrow 3 and Patriots to down threats. Jamming and new technology has assisted Turkey in Libya.
In addition, the region’s civil wars in Yemen, Libya and Syria are continuing. There are also rivalries, such as Qatar versus Saudi Arabia, that feed conflicts elsewhere. Nowhere else in the world are F-35s, MiG-29s, S-400s and other systems all being put into play with the chance that they will be used. The region is suffering the long-term challenges of the post-Cold War and post-War on Terror era….
The Middle East is the world’s most war-torn region, and the warring won’t be ending so soon.

Maybe the Jerusalem Post staff is afraid that even to mention the words “Islam ” and “jihad” ? That to just print those two words might be enough to set a jihadist/Muslim off in murderous violence.
After all, we all know or should know that “Evil is always looking for an excuse.”
Bob says
No it is quite simple really. For at least 2000 years the Arabs have been marrying their cousins and have badly damaged their genome. The resulting low IQ is the cause of the wars.
gravenimage says
Not every person with a low IQ is violent.
Inbreeding does not help, but the biggest problem is that Islam teaches violence.
underbed cat says
I guess it is best to leave it at that, Walter, seems it is necessary for Israel to remain silent when surrounded by jiahdists, no doubt the actions that this article describes a difficult situation. Israel knows the jihadist chaos while at the same time other offensive attacks are operating near by. If they can decieve with information warfare Israel and the West can play clueless in the press, but at least they should take out the insider fighters that diversity fantasy requires that can be dangerous and tragic to reduce the sudden sabotage. I find the open borders of the United States the most important to secure, and the weakness that Islam fighters found in order to saturate their army with the help of the far left and build mosques within our communites that look normal at first unless you know the script of the commands of the Quran they are not here to be Americans but view our country as land to conquer. During the last administration the barn door was open and we see the results of terror tactics with aligning with the groups that call for” justice.” Justice is only a one way street in Islam they can do no wrong even as they tear apart our cities ….in our country. It should be known that when a muslims says he is fighting terrorism, he is fighting against the United States….and we should know what is taught in the mosques is quranic warfare, our nation must readthe Quran and Reliance of the Traveler to know the enemy it is the only chance to clear the fog of deception before that harder attacks start.

This is what Jerusalem Post published on the author’s profile:

– that’s explains the politically correct manipulations and filtering critic information about the middle east, by someone who holds a PhD degree in relevant field and defined as “Oped Editor and Middle East affairs analyst at The Jerusalem Post.”!

R.N., thanks for this research on Seth Frantzman.
He has left Al-Quds University–but his having been there at all is a huge red flag.
Although he did write this, which is pretty accurate:
“Coexistence Fails Because So Many Support Terrorism”
https://sethfrantzman.com/2017/07/16/coexistence-fails-because-so-many-support-terrorism/
But even here, he pretends that ISIS and other Jihad terror groups have nothing to do with Islam–at least, he does not mention it.
David says
Maybe because he knows he may well end up on his back, large blade at throat, saying Can we talk about this. Boom.
SAFI says
I wasn’t aware of SF having been at AQU but I’ve followed his articles over the past few years and I’ve got a lot of respest for his writings and the analysis he provides even if he is less focused on Islam as a religion and looks at conflicts more from a “secularized” geopolitical competition angle.
gravenimage says
Thank you, SAFI. I had just read a bit of his work–not really enough to get a real sense of his outlook.
ntesdorf says
Islam prefers war and violence to debate or discussion of issues. The Jerusalem Post knows this full well, but does not say it for fear of reprisals from Muslims.
gravenimage says
Jerusalem Post asks “Why are there more wars in the Middle East than anywhere else?”
……………….
Could it be…Islam?
More:
never mentions Islam or jihad
……………….
Welp, that’s yer problem right there…
Liz says
I never for once would have believed the west with all their might and advancement and technology would be so cowed and fearful of Islam.
James Lincoln says
Fear of getting killed for taking too strong a stance against islam…
OLD GUY says
Liberals, Oil and Money come to mind. Islam has plenty of help from all three.
gravenimage says
Political correctness and fear of being falsely accused of “racism” are big factors, as well.
David says
Why even ask the question, its what they do, like forever.
Del says
Where there is violence, there is likely Islam. Where there is Islam, there IS violence. President Trump blocked travel from seven countries that are breeding grounds for violence and terrorism. It just so happens that these seven countries are predominantly Muslim. The link is obvious to everyone except to the pandering and grovelling Media.
