“This s–t won’t ever stop unless we f–kin’ take it all down.”
The common goal of the Left and Islamic jihadis everywhere.
“‘Molotov thrower’ Urooj Rahman blames de Blasio for not holding back NYPD amid protests,” by Bruce Golding, New York Post, June 5, 2020:
The Brooklyn lawyer accused of tossing a Molotov cocktail into an NYPD vehicle blamed Mayor Bill de Blasio for not holding back cops — for their own protection — less than an hour before the incident.
“I think this protest is a long time coming,” lawyer Urooj Rahman said in a videotaped interview filmed near the Barclays Center in Brooklyn at around 12:15 a.m. May 30.
“This s–t won’t ever stop unless we f–kin’ take it all down. And that’s why the anger is being expressed tonight in this way,” she said….
During the four-minute interview, Rahman claimed to be unaware that cops had been hurt by protesters during violent clashes sparked by the police killing of George Floyd — but said de Blasio should have held back the NYPD “the way that the mayor in Minneapolis did.”
“I think the mayor should have done that, because if he really cared about his police officers, he should have realized that it’s not worth them getting hurt,” she said.
Rahman was then caught on surveillance video just before 1 a.m. that day lighting a Molotov cocktail and tossing it into an empty police vehicle near the 88th Precinct, according to court papers.
Rahman, 31, said in the video before the Molotov incident that violence against cops was “understandable,” adding, “people are angry because the police are never held accountable.
“This has got to stop. And the only way they hear, the only way they hear us is through violence, through the means that they use,” she said.
“We’ve got to use the massa’s [master’s] tools, that’s what my friend always says.”
Rahman — who spelled out her first name at the end of the interview — spoke while covering her face with the same black-and-white headdress that she wore in a photo that Brooklyn federal prosecutors say shows her clutching a Molotov cocktail in the passenger seat of a minivan driven by fellow lawyer and co-defendant Mattis, 32.
Rahman was also wearing the same T-shirt — which shows a clenched fist clutching a strand of barbed wire and the words “THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES REGARDLESS” — in which she was arrested….

…………………
Well, this is just silly, The Jesuits have been largely a teaching order, not a group of scientists and inventors. Their universities include Gonzaga, University of San Francisco, Santa Clara University, Loyola Marymount, Xavier, Boston College, Georgetown, and Fordham–there are twenty-seven universities in all, and a much larger number of high schools.
And that’s just the US–there are many other Jesuit places of education around the world.
That being said, here are some of the scientists and inventors past and present who are alumni of Jesuit universities–and many of them Jesuits themselves:
Robert Abplanalp – inventor of the aerosol valve; founder of Precision Valve Corporation, Claude Bachet – French mathematician, Roger Boscovich – astronomer, Charles Bossut – French mathematician, Georges Buffon – French naturalist, mathematician, biologist, cosmologist and author, Giovanni Domenico Cassini – Italian astronomer, engineer, and astrologer, Louis Bertrand Castel – French mathematician, Giovanni Ceva – Italian mathematician, Tommaso Ceva – Italian mathematician, Elwin Bruno Christoffel – German and French mathematician and physicist, Christopher Clavius – German astronomer, Marquis de Condorcet – French philosopher, mathematician,,Arthur W. Conway – Irish mathematician, François d’Aguilon – Belgian mathematician and physicist, Denis Diderot – French Enlightenment philosopher, co-founder of the Encyclopédie, Christian de Duve – Belgian scientist, Nobel Prize for medicine in 1974, Jean-Charles de la Faille – French mathematician, Jean Baptiste Joseph Delambre – French mathematician and astronomer, Anthony Fauci – Italian-American immunologist, Xu Guangqi – Chinese agricultural scientist and mathematician, Paul Guldin – Swiss astronomer and mathematician, Stephen W. Kuffler – scientist, Philippe de La Hire – French mathematician, Jérôme Lalande – French astronomer, Francesco Lana de Terzi – Italian aeronautics pioneer, Anthony James Leggett – British professor of physics, Peter Gustav Lejeune Dirichlet – German mathematician, Ettore Majorana – Italian theoretical physicist, Jan Marek Marci – Bohemian mathematician, Pierre Méchain – French astronomer, Denis Papin – French physicist, Jean Picard – French astronomer, Donald Pinkel – American medical doctor, founding medical director and CEO of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Alexius Sylvius Polonus – Polish Jesuit astronomer and maker of astronomical instruments, Giovanni Girolamo Saccheri – Italian Jesuit and mathematician, Grégoire de Saint-Vincent – Jesuit mathematician who independently discovered the Mercator series, Christoph Scheiner – German astronomer, Gaspar Schott – German physicist, mathematician and natural philosopher, André Tacquet – Belgian mathematician whose work led to the eventual discovery of calculus, Evangelista Torricelli – Italian physicist and mathematician, best known for his invention of the barometer, Charles Jean de la Vallée-Poussin – Belgian mathematician, Antonio Maria Valsalva – Italian anatomist who coined the term “Eustachian tube”, Adriaan van Roomen – Belgian mathematician, Pierre Varignon – French priest and mathematician, Voltaire – French author and skeptical master of the Enlightenment, Charles Waterton – English naturalist, Gordon Zubrod – American oncologist who played a role in the introduction of cancer chemotherapy, Niccolò Zucchi – Italian Jesuit astronomer and physicist. This is very partial list.
Probably a lot of people here are familiar with Dr. Fauci.
And–this is my favorite given the claim that Jesuits have had nothing to do with patents: Donald W. Banner – United States Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks. He earned a Master of Patent Law in 1958. Banner was appointed to be U.S. Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks by both Presidents Nixon and Carter.
So the idea that Jesuits have had nothing to do with science and invention in general, and holders of patents in particular, is *quite* mistaken.

The Jesuits have always had a reputation for evil. They were the judge and jury during the Spanish Inquisition and They were involved in the slaughter of natives Indians during the Spanish landings in south America. The Jesuits administer in our catholic colleges where liberalism is rampant. Having witnessed family member become liberal fanatics, ignorant of history, loyalty or common sense after graduating from a prestigious Jesuit law school I fear for America.

Wellington says
Grace: The Spanish Inquisition was actually an instrument of the Spanish state and not the Church and to the extent that priests were involved it was Dominicans and not Jesuits.
Respecting the Spanish Inquisition, it is responsible for the death of some 4,000 people over the course of some 350 years (half of these 4,000 by 1500). In many years since 9/11, Islamic terrorists have killed more people in one year than the Spanish Inquisition did in three and a half centuries.
Something else: The Spanish Inquisition 4,000 statistic aside, both Catholics and Protestants in the Early Modern Era (c. 1500-1800) killed about 60,000 people for heresy. Many women in particular were burned at the stake or hung because they were accused of witchcraft (e.g., the Salem witch trials of the 1690’s which resulted in something like 19 people being executed). Protestantism, as well as Catholicism, is tainted by this tragic legacy. As another example, the charter of Massachusetts Bay was yanked by King Charles II in 1684 in part because the Protestant zealots running the colony wouldn’t stop torturing or killing Quakers and Catholics. If you’re going to point out Catholic wrongs without pointing out Protestant wrongs, then an agenda and not the truth is what motivates you.
Finally, until the disaster which was Vatican II (1962-1965) the Jesuits were a conservative force in the Catholic Church and not a liberal one. Sadly, since the Vatican II disaster they have flipped and are now foolish progressives for the most part.

I agree with Wellington that our western style of societies are the best mankind has ever come up with, and these rioters would create a far worse type of society if they ever got the opportunity. Islam obviously always is seeking to destroy our decent, and fairly humane societies, but these Marxist and anarchist types certainly are seeking to destroy everything as well. I have very little sympathy for this whole carry on. It seems to me that the death of that one black guy has been used as a bullshit excuse for large numbers of haters of the western, democratic and liberal way of life to go on a destructive rampage. It is obvious to anyone with any intelligence what kind of people are protesting now about one incident in which the perpetrators have already been arrested and are awaiting sentence.
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the comments, gravenimage, David, James and Thereader. I suppose some of the protesters are decent people, but I feel sure that plenty of them are anarchists and people who’d love to impose some sort of left wing fascist, probably communist regime on all of us. Their type of society would be far, far worse than the pretty decent societies that we have built. I have a strong belief in how good our western style, democratic and free enterprise societies are, so I know where I stand. I find that a lot of people don’t have a strong belief in our western societies and seem apologetic for all the supposed wrongs our societies have done. Conflating jihadist with leftist is curious. Can someone define “leftist” without using the word “Islam” or referring to any religion?
In my opinion the conflation of the two by Robert (and those who subscribe to his beliefs) needlessly undermines the effectiveness of his work by alienating a lot of people who consider themselves on the left side of the political spectrum, but who oppose the ideology of Islam (not to mention jihad) as much as Robert and his adherents. Robert, stick to your knitting.
scribblerg says
David – There is a long conflation of Islamism with socialism by Islamists themselves, whether Sunni or Shia. Social Justice movements, Baathism, and an entire reinterpretation of Islam as a revolutionary ideology by Shia scholars decades ago.
Today, CAIR and others overtly “ally” with other Leftist causes against “white supremacy” and “colonialism” (as defined by them colonialism is a social ill). To David Darman- I respectfully say you are not “connecting the dots” with your comment ending in “Robert, stick to your knitting”. Please see the whole picture! Jihad means “fight, battle, holy war against infidels as a religious duty.” So Islamic doctrines instruct any person who believes in and endorses those Islamic doctrines to fight and kill infidels. Yet if Allah created all people, Allah gave them free will. So why cannot Allah tolerate his own creations to believe what they want to believe? Very strange!
Secondly, “conflate” means “fuse, “combine, blend.” Conflating Leftism and jihadism is technically correct because jihadism is a collectivist idea and Leftists support collectivism. Collectivism means “subverting individuals’ rights within any group and giving the group
priority.”
Leftism also wants more government control of the economy, more government control of social policies, more federal control over education at all levels, tax payer funded abortion, censorship of social media, and their definition of a “living constitution” meaning a constitution that evolves and adapts to new circumstances. This last is the worst because when human behaviors influence doctrine, chaos results. Doctrine is supposed to guide and influence human behavior.
So David Darman, please consider these important guidelines when you next think about criticizing the brilliant Robert Spencer.

I appreciate the exchange of ideas. When I suggest RS stick to his knitting, I mean to say he should stick to writing about his areas of expertise,i.e. Islamic ideology/jihad, and not venture into areas where he is not expert, i.e. politics in general. In my opinion, his Achilles heel is that he analyzes all political conduct only through a prism of Islam/jihad. Moreover, nowhere are his terms any more defined except as in this tautology:
A) Anyone soft on Islam is, ipso facto, a leftist.
B) A leftist is defined as anyone who is soft on Islam.
I think RS is a scholarly and witty writer. I just wish he would rethink his opinions about folks who support Social Security, Medicare, a progressive income tax, and a helping hand to the less capable among us i.e. leftists/liberals/progressives.

Don Ameche says
I am truthfully asking not meant as a snark or slur of any kind. But can you cite some example of as you say ” …alienating a lot of people who consider themselves on the left side of the political spectrum, but who oppose the ideology of Islam …. “
gravenimage says
Don, there are a few liberals who are also opposed to the horrors of Islam–including to some extent myself and some others here at Jihad Watch. Probably the most well-known figure I can think of in this regard is Bruce Bawer, who is a Gay Anti-Jihadist. I also had a friend–he has since passed away–who was Jewish, Gay, very liberal, and Anti-Jihadist. I have another Anti-Jihad friend who runs a Yoga studio, and is generally very liberal.
But I’ve never been offended by noting that too many Leftists tend to be in denial about Islam at best or even downright Islamophilic, since this is clearly the case. The worst of the lot both hate America and the West–although not everyone who is left of center is like this.
David Darman says
Me – and a lot of people I engage on the subject of Islamic ideology. Do you believe it helpful to belittle people who may be vehemently opposed to jihad, any theocracy and sharia law, but who nevertheless support social programs that would cause them to be defined as liberal/progressive and leftist (i.e social security, medicare, progressive income tax, unemployment ins, etc)?
gravenimage says
As I noted above, David, I think it is right to call out *any* who enable Jihad and Shari’ah.
For instance, I believe in equal rights for women, yet I am not offended by Jihad Watch and posters here pointing out from time to time that most Feminists will not say anything critical about the horrors of Islam–even about things like FGM, child marriage, forced marriage, wife beating, and “Honor Killings”.
I am actually more offended by most Feminists not condemning this savagery than I am by those who dare point it out.
You may, of course, disagree.

No way should she be allowed to practice law in the United States after her terrorist attack on police officers.

These slimes are a big problem in America and need to be dealt with.
TKF says
Nobody should care about her pointless grievances. But, torching a police vehicle should get her at least 20 years in prison without parole. I guess she’s gonna need a good lawyer. She should tried under sharia law and then stoned her to death or given 500 lashes with a bamboo cane.
