Actually, the jihad against Israel has always been a religious conflict, as shown in detail in The Palestinian Delusion.
“PA foreign minister fans the flames of religious war,'” by Nan Jacques Zilberdik, Palestinian Media Watch, June 15, 2020:
PA Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Malki has twice recently fanned the flames of religious war among Palestinians and the entire Muslim world. The top PA official continues to demonize Israel with the libel that Israel plans “to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and build the alleged Temple.” Al-Malki made one of his statements in a video conference of Arab officials at the level of foreign ministers regarding Israel’s presumed future annexation – i.e., applying Israeli law to the Jordan Valley and the Jewish cities and towns in the West Bank:
PA Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al-Malki: “[Israel’s annexation] will place the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque… under full Israeli control, in order to execute their plan to promote their false narrative in order to destroy it and build their alleged Temple. This will turn the conflict from a political conflict into a religious conflict whose end will be bad and bitter, will undermine the stability, and will destroy the security and peace in the region and the world.”

Coming next: Israel’s plans for rebuilding Mecca.
Boy do these guys ever have endless imaginations.
Is there even one example in human history where a mosque has been turned into a synagogue? I’m guessing that the answer is “no”.
mgoldberg says
I imagine it began with turning Yathrib, the town founded by jews, and lived in by jews, and arabs, into a cemetary of 600-900 jews. Then they renamed the town … Medina

I cannot find a single example, Rarely. Plenty of Synagogues turned into Mosques, though–as well as Churches, Hindu Temples, Buddhist Temples…
owensgate says
The only thing that belongs on the Temple Mount is a Hebrew Temple. Mohammad never set foot in Jerusalem, and a “mosque” and a “dome-of-the-rock” to lay claim to a thing that never happened is one heck of a good reason to get rid of them.

i wish, for once in his life, he would speak the truth.
James Lincoln says
RichardL,
That would be literally impossible…

Where Muslims take over completely they no longer feel the need to use Taqiyya. ISIS did not try to convince their Yezidi child sex slaves that Islam is a religion of peace.
James Lincoln says
That’s an interesting point, gravenimage.
gravenimage says
Thank you, James. As awful–and dangerous–as Taqiyya is, Muslims only use it when they feel Infidels are strong.
Tony Naim says
As if this conflict has not been religious from the beginning?!
Muslims come to the west, they purchase property , enjoy equal rights from day one.
Jews go to the holy land, purchase property, yet, Muslims want to treat them as Dhimmis ! Moreover, they are not expected to defend themselves.
Arab Muslims will never accept Jews-nor Christians, with equal political rights because Islamic Sharia and the laws of dhimmitude in it say so!
ntesdorf says
After waging 1,400 continuous years of religious conflict, the Muslims finally warn against religious conflict

PA FM says Israel plans to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque to build Temple, turning conflict from political to religious
………………..
Utter projection.
And yes–the Jihad against Israel has always been Islamic.
mortimer says
GI is correct. A whole lot of PSYCHOLOGICAL PROJECTION going on.
Westman says
It is absolutely projection and used purposefully because it is what Islam would do if the roles were reversed. Unfortunately, the projection is very believable to the average Muslim because the Quran tells them that Jews think and act in that manner&.
Al-Malki says, “This will turn the conflict from a political conflict into a religious conflict whose end will be bad and bitter, will undermine the stability, and will destroy the security and peace in the region and the world.”
Let’s suppose that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, (not the Dome Of The Rock), disappeared from Jerusalem, say, magically. What Muslim nations would bother to rebuild it? Would the Saudis, who have Mecca, bother? Was this originally built to have a place of worship, or, as a symbol of Islamic triumph over Jews and their heritage claim?
Battle says
Riyad Al-Malki, PA Foreign Minister is a hypocrite.
A Jewish man once said to “Ship the mosque stones back to Mecca.” But aren’t the mosque stones stolen from the ruins of the Second Temple?
jewdog says
I guess the jihad against Israel is not religious? By the way, Judaism forbids rebuilding the Temple until the messiah, or moshiach, arrives, so this allegation is ridiculous. Plus, after the Six Day War Israel voluntary handed control of the Temple Mount over to the Arabs. Nevertheless, the same old chestnut has been used for years by bloodthirsty Muslim demagogues to stir up lynch mobs. This guy is hardly original.
grandpahalfdime says
It’s built on top of Temple Mount where it was built to obfuscate the Temple that was there and support their claim to the lands of Israel and the City of Jerusalem.
I pray that it be torn down and the people in the East Quarter of the city moved out so it can be returned to its original condition.
Kerry Wade says
Yes it should be destroyed, but no Temple will be built. It would be better to make the site a public toilet.
