Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Red-Green Twitterstorm to America: Burn, Baby, Burn (Part Three)

Jun 16, 2020 8:00 am By Andrew Harrod

Islam’s prophet Muhammad “unequivocally condemned racism & actively dismantled systems of oppression based on race/ethnicity…1,388 years ago,” Rice University professor Craig Considine recently tweeted. Such glorification of Islam is of a piece with the leftist-Islamist falsehoods about an inherently rotten America that are motivating the current urban upheaval.

Considine has repeatedly suggested on Twitter that the seventh-century Arab Muhammad offers key insight for resolving modern racism traumas in America and beyond. Considine’s anachronism mystifies, given that racism is a relatively modern concept that developed in medieval Europe, perhaps partly precisely through European exposure to the Muslim enslavement of Africans. “Prophet Muhammad addressed this disease of the heart & mind from its root causes,” he has tweeted, for his “universal teachings forever changed the discourse on racial equality.”

As he explains in a video, Considine constructs this myth on the basis of Muhammad’s final sermon before his death. Therein he proclaimed that Arabs and non-Arabs, whites and blacks, had no superiority over one another. Rather, piety and good deeds are the criteria for judging people.

Considine’s thesis is absurd for several reasons, particularly because, as Jihad Watch’s Robert Spencer has noted, Islam has no objective definition of right and wrong. Islam’s dictates, taken on faith alone in Muhammad, define proper piety and good deeds. Thus irrespective of whatever ethnic equality Muslims might have, Islamic doctrine throughout history has entailed enormous faith-based human rights abuses for non-Muslims, women, and others.

Considine’s tweeted adulation of Malcolm X reveals precisely Considine’s silly superficiality. Malcolm X had learned to hate whites in Elijah Muhammad’s radical black Nation of Islam (NOI) cult in segregationist America, but had a racial epiphany during his 1964 hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. There he experienced individuals from the most diverse backgrounds united in Islamic faith and proclaimed that “America needs to understand Islam” as the “one religion that erases from its society the race problem.”

Considine, and before him Malcolm X, have never explained why systems of religious apartheid in Islamic theocracies such as Saudi Arabia are superior to any past racial apartheid in places such as South Africa or America’s segregated South. Moreover, a historic criticism of Islam dismisses this belief in a seventh-century Arab prophet as an ethnocentric Arab-based faith that simply repackages and sanctifies Arab tribal culture. Thus Arabs, particularly in the Arabian Peninsula birthplace of Islam now ruled by the Saudi kingdom, have often considered themselves superior to non-Arab Muslims as true interpreters of Islamic piety.

Islam’s tribal distinctions between Muslims and non-Muslims have had profound implications for slavery, contrary to Considine’s video whitewash of this evil in Islam. He shows Muhammad freeing the black slave Bilal after being impressed by his refusal to recant under torture his faith in Muhammad. Bilal then become Islam’s first muezzin, a mosque’s caller to prayer.

While superficially appealing, Bilal’s example of a man freed not because of his intrinsic humanity, but because of his sectarian faith profession, actually indicates Islam’s historic faith-based enslavement of non-Muslims. As opposed to the race-based transatlantic slave trade that transported an estimated 12 million Africans to the Western Hemisphere, Islam’s equally brutal religion-based slave trade victimized 17 million or more Africans over a longer period. Islamic slave raids from North Africa also enslaved perhaps 1.25 million Europeans from as far away as Iceland in 1627, with devastating results for Europe’s Mediterranean coastal communities.

Notwithstanding the absence of any formal Islamic doctrine of racial/ethnic superiority, the practical effect of centuries-long Muslim Arab enslavement of Africans has helped inculcate strong Arab anti-black prejudices. Across history renowned Islamic thinkers like the Quranic exegete Al-Tabari (839-923) and the historian Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) have made incredibly bigoted statements about Africans. Additionally, Quran verses like 3:106 as well as canonical hadith narrations about Muhammad’s life consistently reveal a colourism of negative associations with black.

In light of the Bible’s multiethnic character, any Christian should also find bewilderment in the self-proclaimed Catholic Considine’s assertion that Muhammad revolutionized beliefs about common human dignity. Long before Muhammad, Jews and their scriptures effectively invented human rights with verses like Genesis 1:27 (man made in God’s image) and Deuteronomy 10:19 (Jews should respect strangers). In the Christian gospels in turn, a Jewish messiah Jesus defines neighborly love with the Good Samaritan parable, whose hero is from a Samaritan people despised by Jews, yet shows human compassion for a wounded Jew. Galatians 3:28 similarly proclaims the unity of all, whether Jew or Gentile, in following Christ.

Precisely Bible believers have historically been foremost supporters of blacks’ civil rights. Anti-slavery and emancipatory verses including Exodus 21:16, 1 Timothy 1:9-10, and Philemon prompted Christians to lead abolitionist movements. Jews were also key backers of America’s church-based civil rights movement led by the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.

Imprisoned for civil disobedience in Alabama, King wrote in his famous April 16, 1963, Letter from a Birmingham Jail that the nonviolent civil rights movement expressed the “most sacred values in our Judeo-Christian heritage.” He exquisitely examined the natural law justification for breaking immoral positive laws such as those on segregation with reference to Saint Augustine (354-430) and Saint Thomas Aquinas (1224-1275), who denounced Islam. Augustine, a Christian who lived in North Africa long before Muhammad and the Islamic conquests that destroyed this region’s Christian society, had declared that an “unjust law is no law at all.”

Considine has stated that all people should emulate his anti-racist hero Muhammad, a recommendation that actually suggests conversion to Islam, but King thought otherwise. He had worried that the poor Christian witness of white churches that ignored the civil rights struggle was alienating blacks. Thus he wrote from Birmingham that “Elijah Muhammad’s Muslim movement,” the NOI, attracted blacks “who have lost faith in America” and “absolutely repudiated Christianity.”

Yet the Islam-booster Considine has joined others in claiming that America should seek redemption for its current tumult in Muhammad. University of Detroit Mercy law professor Khaled Beydoun, who blathers about “Islamophobia” and supports Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel, has tweeted the warlord Muhammad’s sayings on the “prayer of the oppressed.” Repeatedly he has also dredged up the ubiquitous apologetic of Quran 5:32 on saving one life, a statement originally from the Talmud, but which Quran 5:33 grievously modifies with a barbaric death penalty for any Islam-defined “mischief.”

Representative Rashida Tlaib’s friend, the rabid Israel-hater Abbas Hamideh, has meanwhile tweeted that Americans should focus on domestic problems, not the people of Iran’s Islamic Republic. Iranians in this theocracy experience truly systematic police brutality from security forces that kill demonstrators with live ammunition. Yet Americans should stop “worrying about an ancient nation that has been around for thousands of years. Iranians don’t need your sympathy. They are woke af!”

Ultimately, Beydoun, Considine, and Hamideh’s idolization of Muhammad reminds of another false human rights prophet in contemporary Western society, Communism’s iconic Argentinian revolutionary Ché Guevara. Since his 1967 death while trying to foment a Bolivian revolution, this leader of Cuba’s 1959 Communist takeover has often appealed to the West as a hero of hip youth rebellion, including during America’s past tumultuous month. In reality, this brutal racist was a “psychopath” with a “sadistic lust for blood,” as the Heritage Foundation’s Michael Gonzalez has noted, a henchman for a totalitarian regime that has often oppressed Cuban blacks.

With Muhammad, Considine and company have continued the Western tradition of seeking societal salvation in a kind of Gnosticism involving the supposedly undiscovered knowledge of non-Western “noble savages.” In reality, honest self-criticism of Western sin must recognize that Western values remain the “last, best hope of earth,” as the “great emancipator,” President Abraham Lincoln, famously described America in 1862. Rather than enlightenment, these intellectuals offer a perverse inversion of reality, which, as this series final article will show, also includes hatred of America’s ally, Israel.

The”scholar” craig considine and his islamic apologetics….

muhammed was the owner, buyer and seller of black African slaves.

“And he{muhammed} sold him{ a slave} for TWO of the blacks”

Why,he actively profited from such such a system of oppression:slavery.

As perfect mo was about to breathe his last..

Considine is a paid shill for Islam. He should be forensically audited.

Mohammed and his companions were notably racist. Mohammed called black people ‘raisin heads’. That ends Mohammed’s claim to be non-racist.

    Yemen still has black slaves.

It’s important to dispel the ignorance of the Leftist/Terrorists regarding Muhammad’s owning and trading of black slaves (most are unaware of and/or don’t care about Muhammad’s racism). But as a Minneapolis police officer recently stated “murder is the worst kind of Social Injustice”. And Islam is continuing its Social Injustice (killing) of black Africans especially in Nigeria on a large scale. This alone should be enough for any rational mind to convict Islam of guilt regarding racism and murder. But this could be dangerous information in this “culture cancel” terrorism time since some mosques are monuments.

Yeah–I guess that’s what calling Blacks “raisin heads” and committing genocide against Jews was all about…
