Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Russian air force unleashes “powerful attack” against anti-Assad jihadists bordering Turkey

Jun 10, 2020 9:00 am By Christine Douglass-Williams

The defense against jihad terror in the West has been long stymied by Leftists. The red-green axis has served to proliferate Islamization across the West, but it is an alliance of convenience. And while Iran, Turkey, Russia and China are celebrating the so-called collapse of the United States due to the communist-rooted Black Lives Matter/Antifa riots, Russia is quite busy protecting its own interests, with no apologies:

“The Russian Air Force unleashed a powerful attack against the jihadist rebels of the Hurras Al-Deen group after the latter stormed the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions along the Hama-Idlib administrative border….the Russian warplanes targeted the jihadists in the town of Tanjara, while also expanding their strikes to areas near the Turkish border.”

Moscow is an important ally to Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad, and is acting aggressively against the “last jihadist stronghold outside of Assad’s control.” Only America and other Western countries are timid and apologetic about taking firm action in their own interests. According to a Hoover Institute report, meanwhile, Russia’s loyalty to Syria is solely about gaining regional influence:

Foreign Muslims have no value for the leadership in Moscow except as a means to an end, and Putin’s pose as the Islamic world’s best friend is no more than a pose—and a hypocritical one at that. He has no preference about the kind of Islam he finds among his Muslim allies and clients. Iran’s Ali Khamenei is a Shia, Syria’s Assad an Alawite, Turkey’s Erdoğan a Sunni. Russian foreign policy is aimed predominantly at reducing the American impact in those parts of Europe and the Middle East where the USSR used to exert influence. The objective is to restore Russian pride and impact.

“Russian warplanes unleash powerful attack on jihadist forces near Turkish border,” Almasdar News, June 8, 2020:

BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:30 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force unleashed a powerful attack against the jihadist rebels of the Hurras Al-Deen group after the latter stormed the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions along the Hama-Idlib administrative border on Monday.

According to a field source in northwestern Syria, the Russian Air Force launched a number of strikes over the jihadist positions, inflicting heavy damage on their equipment and causing several casualties.

The source said the Russian warplanes targeted the jihadists in the town of Tanjara, while also expanding their strikes to areas near the Turkish border.

These strikes by the Russian Air Force were carried out in response to the Hurras Al-Deen group’s raid on the Syrian Army’s positions in the town of Tanjara earlier in the day…..

There is a deep-seated irony whenever Russian forces unleash attacks on Jihadis; Russia, unlike other nations, Russia does not give a damn about world condemnation, political correctness, collateral damage. Others, such as America, Israel, however, follow rules of engagement, yet, unlike Russia, are castigated as warmongers, Islamophobes, or whatever is the racist flavor of the day.

The Russians have coordinated their operations in Syria with Israel since they began current operations in Syria. We (Israel) do likewise.

On the other hand…the United States has not and does not coordinate operation in Syria with Israel…..but they do coordinate with their “most valued allies” the Muslim Brotherhood regime in Turkey.

Israel hates war…but we are damned good at it.

Russia and Israel have common interests, not least of which is the destruction of the resurgence of Fascism in any form, which today involves the resurgence of militant Islam.

I wish this was always the case, Vladimir. Unfortunately, Syria–backed by Russia–has attacked Israel many times.

They used to do it under the last president Hafez al Assad. I don’t think they’ve ever done it under the current president Assad, although they did allow Syria to be an overland conduit from Iran to Hizbullah

Huh? Pray tell, what form of economic-political system exists in Russia today? Is Russia a free country of capitalism, of individual rights, and private property rights? Is Russia a country of communism? Or socialism?

No, Russia is a gangster-fascist state. Putin and his gangster-fascist mafia have a vested interest in keeping the Islamo-fascist mafia from taking over turf, that’s all. Two rival gangster-fascist mafias fighting over turf, the Hell’s Angels versus the Sons of Anarchy, the Bloods versus the Crips, the Gambinos versus the Corleones, capiche?

“The difference between [socialism and fascism] is superficial and purely formal, but it is significant psychologically: it brings the authoritarian nature of a planned economy crudely into the open.

The main characteristic of socialism (and of communism) is public ownership of the means of production, and, therefore, the abolition of private property. The right to property is the right of use and disposal. Under fascism, men retain the semblance or pretense of private property, but the government holds total power over its use and disposal.

The dictionary definition of fascism is: “a governmental system with strong centralized power, permitting no opposition or criticism, controlling all affairs of the nation (industrial, commercial, etc.), emphasizing an aggressive nationalism . . .” [The American College Dictionary,
          New York: Random House, 1957.]

Under fascism, citizens retain the responsibilities of owning property, without freedom to act and without any of the advantages of ownership. Under socialism, government officials acquire all the advantages of ownership, without any of the responsibilities, since they do not hold title to the property, but merely the right to use it—at least until the next purge. In either case, the government officials hold the economic, political and legal power of life or death over the citizens.

Needless to say, under either system, the inequalities of income and standard of living are greater than anything possible under a free economy—and a man’s position is determined, not by his productive ability and achievement, but by political pull and force.

Under both systems, sacrifice is invoked as a magic, omnipotent solution in any crisis—and “the public good” is the altar on which victims are immolated. But there are stylistic differences of emphasis. The socialist-communist axis keeps promising to achieve abundance, material comfort and security for its victims, in some indeterminate future. The fascist-Nazi axis scorns material comfort and security, and keeps extolling some undefined sort of spiritual duty, service and conquest. The socialist-communist axis offers its victims an alleged social ideal. The fascist-Nazi axis offers nothing but loose talk about some unspecified form of RACIAL or NATIONAL “greatness.” The socialist-communist axis proclaims some grandiose economic plan, which keeps receding year by year. The fascist-Nazi axis merely extols leadership—leadership without purpose, program or direction—and power for power’s sake.” – Ayn Rand

The Ruski’s have a very long history of not holding back when the necessary punitive action is required.
Your right, they don’t care about world opinion, they simply stomp on whoever pisses them off.
Now, if the US and some other civilized nations would take the same attitude, then maybe this Jihad problem could be made to “go away”.

Russians have learnt from the history not to trust the western leaders who are selling their own country and deceiving their own people by colluding with oil rich muslim countries .Stalin always suspected the west rightfully so in my opinion during the second world war ,even when it was making greatest sacrifices for it’s own survival ! In initial stages of world war two, only Russia represented bulwark of resistance against Fascism and Nazism when most western countries were adopting a compromising attitude towards Hitler!

The Sunnites are funded by Soddy Barbaria. Both Turkey and KSA want a soddy pipeline into Europe and Russia wants to stop it. Neither side will give up.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world should stop using oil as a fuel and Islam will disappear.

Mortimer, I thought you were saying that Islam would disappear as soon as you could convince Muslims that Islam is not rational?

Islam existed for 1300 years before the world began using oil–I don’t think it would go away even if we move on to another fuel source.

That being said, though, Muslim nations do regularly use unearned oil wealth to fund Jihad and Da’wa, so our not using their oil is *definitely* a good thing.

There is really only one reason the Russians support Assad, Tartus.

    • gravenimage says

      Jun 11, 2020 at 5:39 pm

Why would that be the case? Tartus is not a Russian city.

In reality, Russia has often–foolishly–allied with Iran. Iran treats Syria as a client state because they have a large Shia population. So Russia supports Syria.

Russia isn’t allied with Iran, Russia does business with Iran, with the time-honored geopolitical common sense of Tsar Peter the Great that Russia should always try to have good relations with the Persians, for the peace of Central Asia. The Soviet Union had good relations with the Anti-Communist Shah of Iran, and the Non-Communist Russian Federation has business with the Iran of the Mullahs (and provides a back channel of communication between Iran and Israel, Israel having good relations with Russia).

I’m afraid that Russia enabling a nuclear Iran is *not* a good thing, Vladimir, whatever you might believe.
