This ongoing genocide will continue to get little to no establishment media attention. It doesn’t fit their narrative of Muslims as victims. No “Islamophobia” is being committed, so there’s nothing to see here. Move along.
“Nigeria facing ‘systematic, planned, calculated’ genocide of Christians,” by Charles Collins, Crux, June 29, 2020:
President Donald Trump should appoint a special envoy for Nigeria and the Lake Chad region to “focus like a laser beam” on the attacks by Boko Haram and other Islamic militants, according to one of the main architects of the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.
Former Congressman Frank Wolf said such a move was necessary to stop a genocide of Christians in the region.
Wolf was speaking to journalists during a press call on the situation in Nigeria sponsored by In Defense of Christians, a Washington D.C. human rights group.
Nigeria has had over 50,000 people killed since 2009 due to the Boko Haram insurgency, which has also displaced over 2 million people. More recently, the Islamic State in West Africa Province, which broke away from Boko Haram in 2016, has increased activity in the region.
In the country’s “Middle Belt” – where the Muslim North meets the Christian South – Muslim Fulani bands have killed thousands of Christians.
During the call, Anglican Archbishop Benjamin Argak Kwashi of Jos described the attacks on Christians in the country.
“This thing is systematic; it is planned; it is calculated,” he said.
The archbishop said Boko Haram has almost succeeded in uprooting the Christian community in northeastern Nigeria, and added it is “very clear that their intention is to Islamize Nigeria.”
However, he said the government is ignoring the problem.
“Every time we have raised our voices to say to the governments that this is going on, they always produced a political narrative to say that it is farmers’ and herders’ clashes. That narrative is an evil narrative of cover up because honest people will be sleeping in their homes at night that will be massacred, but it will be said to be a clash. That is far from the truth,” Kwashi said. “These killings are specifically in Christian villages.”
Dr. Gregory H. Stanton, chairman of Genocide Watch, said these attacks meet the definition of genocide: “It is the intentional destruction in whole or in part of a religious group.”
“This is not a conflict. These Christian villagers – these farmers – have no conflict with the Fulani. The Fulani now arrive with truckloads of fighters, maybe a hundred of their fighters, and they simply massacre a Christian village. They leave the Muslim village nearby completely alone,” Stanton said.
He also dismissed claims that that tribal difference and economic factors were the real drivers of the violence, noting that most genocides happen during civil or international conflicts.
“Denial is part of every genocide; it starts at the beginning of it and usually goes on way after it,” he said.
“Every single person of the 7,600 [people] killed since 2015 by the Fulani militia has been Christian. That’s genocide,” Stanton added….

I’m glad someone is alerting Trump as to what is going on. Maybe he will do something?
gravenimage says
Trump has cut aid to Nigeria because it is not fighting terrorism.
J Morgan says
Cutting the funding is something, though unfortunately for the Christians of Nigeria, not nearly enough.
gravenimage says
Too true. It is a start, though.

In the past, the international community has been slow to respond to a genocide. There is no excuse with much experience to rely on. This genocide in Nigeria has been going on for 25 years with between 1,000 and 2,000 Christians killed every year in Nigeria alone.
What would the Libtard media reaction be if it were 250,000 to 300,000 Muslims killed within 25 years? You know the answer.
THIS IS A DOUBLE STANDARD. The Libtards are not troubled by dead Christians.

corrections 25,000 to 30,000 …

I thought that was the purpose for the UN, to rescue the victims from brutal regimes and stop tyrants? /sarc off.
Solzhenitsyn was right about the UN; they are actually worse than worthless. If they were just worthless we could say “well what can you expect”; but they actively enable and abet the monsters of the world.
They have squandered all their opportunities to do something worthwhile and noble, but show they just don’t care, they’ve become the sum total of their members; corrupt with zero moral virtue, no redeeming qualities and no credibility, so instead they condemn the US for BLM and Israel for not wanting to be rocketed and annihilated by Satanic driven Muslims.
But we all know that Islam is the religion of the UN and Muslims can never do anything wrong in it’s eyes. But one day after the UN joins the entire world under some religion like Islam and a one-world ruling government, won’t they be surprised when Jesus returns and wipes them out with the “brightness of His appearance”.
“7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; 9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, 10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2

The most pathetic aspect of it is that the President of Nigeria Mohammed Buhari is the major financier and the founder of Boko Haram.
Before he became the President of Nigeria in 2015, he had said in 2013 that any attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north.
People knew but yet voted him
gravenimage says
Buhari is truly appalling, and does indeed appear to be directly enabling Boko Haram.
And thanks for citing that horrifying quote–he can be seen saying that here:

There is no reason to believe that he actually founded this Jihad terror group, though. In actuality, it was Boko Haram was founded by Mohammed Yusuf in 2002.
OTTER says
Under the current working definition of genocide, universally accepted and pushed by the UN assiduously, the word ‘genocide’ never applies to any actions committed by Muslims.
They can only be victims of crimes committed by the West, the Jews, the Hindus and the Buddhists. If these groups are not implicated, then all other actions by Muslims are caused by ‘Western imperialism’, ‘culture’, ‘misinterpretation’, ‘patriarchy’, ‘climate change’ and ‘Islamophobia
It is never ever their fault. They have no agency; they were born blameless and die blameless. That is their God-given and inalienable right. They can only be acted upon in malign ways and they must be admired for their fine civic qualities, which gives them the right to barge into your house, on a time and place of their choosing, and tell you how congenitally low and biased you are.
This kind of mass hypnotism is impossible to fight. Its like trying to slice air with a sword.
There is war coming, in what shape or form, I do not know. But war it is.
Or may be I am wrong. No war folks, because we always have our white flag of surrender handy, don’t we?

There should be an international inquiry and Nigeria should be forced to have inspectors.

Nigeria: Muslims are carrying out ‘systematic, planned, calculated’ genocide of Christians

Yet few in the West know anything about this.

The Christians resident of NE Nigeria should migrate to SE or SW Nigeria …

Muslims being able to consolidate their power in the north will not much protect Christians in the rest of Nigeria. Their takeover of the country will continue.
Jude Cross says
That’s not a solution, my dear, because even now the Jihadists are drifting southward in the country.
Nigerian Christians in the entire country are at risk.

Islam may not always be quite as vicious as this genocide in Nigeria is, but this does seem very similar to a lot of the murderous and oppressive behaviour of Islam wherever it seeks to gain power (always by the sword as Robert Spencer’s “The History of Jihad” shows clearly) and where it gains power. 270 million victims of Islam so far and those 80 million in India alone, so this is typical of islam, which often seems to be like a collection of serial killers, or maybe like a bunch of Nazis would be a better description. Islam, such an evil, disgusting ideology. I don’t think the world will take much notice of this because what goes on in Africa is often ignored. I believe white farmers in South Africa are being killed quite often and that doesn’t get much media attention either.
gravenimage says
Yes–this horror is mainstream Islam.
Joe S. says
First of all, I commend Robert Spencer on the great work he is doing in exposing the dangerous side of Islam. Secondly, the situation in Nigeria is ridiculous: a genocide of Christians that no one seems to notice or care about (think if it were the other way round!!). The government and Muhammad Bukhari at its head don’t give a damn; they may even be delighted that Christians are being obliterated so that Nigeria becomes an Islamic country. God help the Christians there!!!! Let’s pray for them.

The killing of Christians in the middle east has been going on for years. At least 250,000 Christians were killed in Syria and nothing or almost nothing was done to save that country with some of the oldest known Christian communities. Some 10 years ago I spoke during a protest Bible study and no one knew about the coptics, about Christianity in the middle east. Perhaps we can bein by giving our sisters and brothers history lessons about were we live and who is killing us. We as Christ lovers
Phemmy Shotayo says
Indeed there is the urgent need to send an emissary to Nigeria before the killing gets out of hand. its stealth, systematic and calculating, yet the media is either complacent or complicit
gravenimage says
The murder of Christians had been out of hand for decades. And the US has tried to train Nigerian troops to oppose Jihad terror groups like Boko Haram–of course, this has not worked.
