Christians object to homosexual activity and the celebration of it, but do not call for homosexuals to be put to death. Muhammad specifies the punishment for homosexual activity in a hadith: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.’” (Sunan Abu Dawud 4462)
Will gay rights advocates say a word about this? Of course not. It has long been established that in the hierarchy of politically correct causes, Islam trumps gay rights. When AFDI ran ads highlighting the mistreatment of gays in Islamic law, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors issued a resolution condemning not that mistreatment, but our ads. Gay advocates such as Theresa Sparks and Chris Stedman attacked us for daring to call attention to the institutionalized mistreatment of gays under Islamic law. It was that, or risk not being invited to the best parties.
“Bosnia Imam Thanks God For Virus Cancelling Pride March,” by Nedim Dervisbegovic, Balkan Insight, August 8, 2020 (thanks to Henry):
Bosnia’s official Islamic Community has refused to comment on a homophobic post by a Sarajevo imam who thanked God and the coronovirus outbreak for cancelling this month’s Pride march in the Bosnian capital.
Muhamed ef. Velic, imam of the Ottoman-era Ferhadija mosque in the historic centre of Sarajevo, wrote on Facebook on Thursday, after the organisers cancelled Sarajevo’s second Pride march, scheduled for August 23, that “in every misfortune and tragedy there is a grain of happiness, goodness and beauty”.
“Thanks to Allah for everything. Let dear Allah gift that corona and gay parade never return to our city and the state!” Velic, who is followed by some 73,000 people, wrote in the post, for which he received 36 comments, all but one affirmative.
A spokesman for the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the IZ BiH, said it was not aware of the post, and added the community does not regulate all the work of its imams.
“We don’t have any reaction, you will have to ask for that from his superior,” IZ BiH spokesman Muhamed Jusic said, adding that the position of the community was that homosexuality goes against Islamic beliefs and teaching, but that believers should also refrain from any violence against such sinners….
Velic is known for his controversial posts. Last month, he criticized Turkey’s re-conversion of Istanbul’s famed former church and museum, the Hagia Sofia, into a mosque, in contrast to Bosniak and Islamic Community leaders, who mostly stayed silent about the latest act by Turkish strongman President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who positions himself as the best friend of Bosnia and the Bosniaks.
The imam said in January that the coronavirus pandemic was God’s punishment to China for its harsh treatment of Muslim Uighurs….

Maybe he should come out of the closet.
It’s time.
What better way for Religious ‘holy’ men to deflect attention from any such proclivity they themselves might have than to attack gays.
curious says
@FYI, That is often exactly what they are doing: imams and priests have a long record of abusing children and deflecting attention by attacking everyone else.
Rufolino says
You are quite right FYI. What you describe is the oldest trick in the book.
People who are paranoid about the possibility of having homosexual feelings (God forbid !), often try to cover it up by being overtly anti-gay. And it frequently becomes obsessional.
“Methinks the lady in the tall hat doth protest too much !”
Such people are unlikely to achieve an integrated personality because they are fundamentally at war with themselves.

Correct.
Classic psychological projection.

Kepha says
Why do we think the organized perversion community is an ally against militant Islam? It’s first hatred is Christianity, and it will cheer for militant Islam until the minute it gets thrown off a building or stoned to death. Or, its dominant members will convert and see their perversion blessed by their new religion.
curious says
@Kepha, you will make no allies writing that way. You wrote in another thread that you “represent the losing side in the culture wars”. You sound like a Klansman after the fall of the Confederacy. The Confederacy deserved to lose, and so did you. Maybe instead of waging war on your fellow citizens, and losing, you might try making friends.
Rufolino says
What you describe as “a perversion” is about love. There are many different kinds of love, the greatest being to give your life for someone you love.
RichardL says
I am with you Kepha. I don’t like gayness, it is sin, but, probably just like you, I have many gay friends. People who are proud of their sins I don’t like.

I wonder why he did criticized the conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque and why other Bosnian Muslims remained silent instead of supporting Erdog. I think maybe they just don’t want to seem close to the tyrant Erdog. Also in my opinion Bosnia and Herzegovina is more moderate than Turkey. In Turkey Muslims are openly calling for murdering of gays but they still get away with it. No one can do such inhumane call in Bosnia since it is a European country. If they do they get punished.
gravenimage says
I love Iblis, most Balkan Muslims are not big fans of the Ottomans, who were oppressive even to their own coreligionists outside Turkey–my guess it that it was nothing more than that.
LB says
I live in the region and let me tell you that Bosnian muslims are Slavs first and muslim second. I know a lot of them and have yet to meet one with extreme (or should I say, TRUE) muslim beliefs. Some of their religious figures and politicians on the other hand like to provoke non-muslims and tout “muslim pride” and such, but most common Bosnian people today know it to be a farce for political points with other muslim countries (such as Turkey) to come and invest.
This is not to say there aren’t any Bosnian muslim fanatics; on the contrary — during the Balkan wars in the ’90s they were commanders, generals and even Alija Izetbegovic himself (then Bosnian president) was a muslim who went as far as to import real Taliban muslims from Afghanistan to slaughter Christian Serbs in Bosnian villages and even gave them free citizenship. But from my experience, their influence today is a far cry of what it used to be. I may be wrong though, who knows what’s actually happening behind the scenes there, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
As for the gay parade thing, all Slavs (not just Southern Slavs, but Eastern European ones as well) are against the gay lifestyle and its political LGBTQWERTY+++ movement in general. Being against something or someone does not mean to wish harm and death upon them. Which is why I do NOT support this imam or his claims, but I do share the same general anti-gay attitude. In this day and age where white people are the minority in the world with the absolute lowest birthrate below replacement, all we need on top of that is to become gay. No thanks.
I love Iblis says
I agree with you about white people are in danger. But I don’t agree with your claim that all Slavs are against gay-lifestyle. Most Slavs could be Christians and Muslims but there are still some irreligious and Pagan Slavs. Paganism unlike semitic-abrahamic nonsense beliefs is not against gay lifestyle so it does not promote any hatred against gay people. Also ethnicity and religion are separate. There can be people of any religion, of any ethnicity.

+1
LB says
I never mentioned religion having anything to do with being against gay lifestyle in my post, so I don’t know what that has anything to do with what I said. I admit, I may have made a broad generalization about all Slavs, but my point still stands: Eastern and Southern European people in general (mainly Slavs, but others as well) tend to be against the bullshit coming from the West (leftist PC politics, feminists, LGBTQWERTY+++ political activists, muslim “migrants” are poor women and children fleeing war, etc.).
This is why the last bastion of true old European civilization lies in the East. The West has already capitulated to islam and multiculti and is now near unrecognizable from what it used to be not even a century ago. Don’t believe me? Compare the amount of negative articles here on JW about Western European countries vs the Eastern/Southern European countries. Still don’t believe me? Then visit any Western European capital city. It feels as if you’re in Africa and Middle East and not Europe.

@LB, you seem to have missed the fact that both Belgrade and Sarajevo have gay pride parades:
“Belgrade Pride under the slogan ‘I’m not giving up’ was successfully held without any major incidents on Sunday 15th September [2019] in Belgrade, Serbia… Amongst those in attendance was Serbia’s Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic – the only openly lesbian Head of Government – who suggested the event signaled that “Serbia is a truly open and tolerant society.””

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-gay-pride-bosnia-idUSKCN1VT0KY
The Serbian voters who elected Ana Brnabic do not share your “anti-gay attitude”. Bosnia is a different story, but could improve considerably if more voters renounce Islam. As for your last sentence, if I may please quote Taylor Swift, “Shade never made anyone less gay.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWtfOHBF1_w
Your “anti-gay attitude” does not help anyone, but it does antagonize others, including me. I have now an anti-LB attitude, which I did not have before. Congratulations.

Good points, curious.
LB says
I never said there weren’t any gay parades in Serbia or Bosnia, just that they are heavily objected against by the general public. That’s why when the parades happen the entire fucking police garrison is out in the streets, literally cordoning off the busiest parts of Belgrade and preventing honest people from commuting to work. Nice strawman though.
I shouldn’t even have to state this, but apparently I do. Gay parades and the Serbian token lesbian PM (who is nothing but Vucic’s sock puppet, and no, nobody voted for her, Vucic assigned her to the position) are a desperate attempt of Serbian president Vucic to score some pro-EU brownie points. Same with Bosnia. Everyone in the region knows this.
And I have to repeat myself yet again. When I say that I’m against the gay lifestyle THAT DOES NOT MEAN I HATE GAY PEOPLE OR WISH HARM OR DEATH UPON THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you wanna be gay, that’s fine. Cool. You do you. But do not, I repeat, DO NOT force it in my or anyone else’s face! But since you are determined to hate me even though I don’t hate you (I presume you are gay), that says a lot more about you than it does about me.
If you bothered to read the article above, you’d see that many Bosnians are AGAINST the imam’s statements where he wishes corona upon gay people, as am I. Nobody (except pedophiles) deserves to be persecuted in any way for what they like to do in the bedroom. All I’m asking is to keep it there. Is that too much to ask? Apparently it is.
mortimer says
Meanwhile in Canuckistan, delusional, globalist PM Jihadi Justin attended the gay parade wearing socks that commemorated Ramadan where he kissed and hugged semi-nude, costumed gays, lesbians and trannies. No one mentioned the Islamic capital punishments for gays and lesbians.
Islam is even more opposed to gays and lesbians than it is opposed to pork.

Suicidal denial.

You are right as usual, @gravenimage, though the suicidal denial remains the majority belief in most NATO countries, after decades of Petrodollar hypnosis by NATO media and politicians. At least the British might be starting to snap out of it, but most of western Europe remains in denial.

The USA made a terrible mistake siding with the literally Nazi Muslim Bosniaks against the Serbs, at the behest of KSA. That was the beginning of a lucrative relationship between KSA and the Clintons. That relationship continued through Hillary’s War in Libya and Syria, preventing those countries from competing with KSA. The Saudis got what they wanted, spreading Islam in Europe via Lybian and Syrian “refugees” in addition to keeping the Bozniak Muslims in place. KSA sent a message to the world: they have the American eagle so hypnotized that the USA, despite being a mostly Christian country, bombs Christians on behalf of Muslims. The Nazi SS recruited heavily from Bozniak Muslims, who signed up enthusiastically due to the similarity of their beliefs. Yet American media never saw a war they didn’t want more of, so the cheerleading and the drums of war beat on.

curious says
Robert Spencer wrote, “Christians object to homosexual activity and the celebration of it…” That generalization is misleading. Some rather judgmental Christians do that, but others judge not, lest they be judged. Most recognize that we are all sinners. In mostly Catholic Ireland, most voters voted for marriage equality. In mostly Protestant Australia, most voters voted for marriage equality. Here in the USA, 2/3 of Americans support marriage equality:
https://news.gallup.com/poll/311672/support-sex-marriage-matches-record-high.aspx
Vatican closet cases and Klansmen continue to object, but even though the Klan continue to carry crosses (for burning), yet they do not speak for Christians generally.
