“When the dust settles on current political divisions, clear-eyed historians will see the occupant of the White House as an American revolutionary. Donald Trump’s revolution was to unapologetically restore a nation’s pride, resurrect its power, and unleash its engines of prosperity and opportunity. These achievements were made possible because Trump established a new standard for American leadership: put America and its people first. As a leader, be an American patriot and rally your people to its cause. The indefatigable Robert Spencer has written a primer for the new era that Trump has made possible. His new book, Rating America’s Presidents, rejects the self-flagellations of the academic left and proposes a Trumpian standard for judging the forty-five individuals who have occupied the Oval Office. Where left-wing historians have rated America’s presidents on how faithfully they adhere to left-wing biases, Spencer has re-evaluated America’s leaders by the only standard that should count: have they advanced the interests of their country and the welfare of its citizens? Rating America’s Presidents is itself a revolutionary act.” — David Horowitz, author, Blitz

The truth of this book will prevail. History will condemn the neo-Marxist menagerie as some of the greatest fools in all American history. The current Marxist morons want to go back to the failed Soviet dictatorship of the corrupt Nomenklatura in which over 60 million citizens perished through intentional state-run killings.
Capitalism actually delivers the greatest good to the greatest number, while communism makes the claim, but has always failed to deliver.

Strangely, Edmund Spenser’s works aren’t so hard to find, and he’s been dead 400 years.
On the other hand, John Bolton’s book will fly off the shelves, from Iceland to Punta Arenas. Bestseller? You can bet on it.

Here is what Amazon has to say about Robert Spencer:
He is the author of nineteen books, including the New York Times bestsellers The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and The Truth About Muhammad and the bestselling The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS.

Is the New York Times list of bestselling books somehow wrong because “Rod” doesn’t like it?
Just because “Rod” here hates anyone who dares oppose Jihad terror does not meant that they are not bestselling authors. Not everyone “thinks” like him.

To Mike-If you are an American living in the USA, then you will want this country-which is your country, to
be prosperous, fair and just to all Americans citizens. There is nothing wrong with any of those values. And there is nothing wrong with the doctrinal values of our US Constitution.
For many decades in the US human behavior Which is based on prejudices and preferences, dictated how African-Americans were treated and “allowed” to live in the US. No one challenged the KKK and their demonic outlook on African-Americans, depriving them of their Constitutional rights to vote, run for and hold office, and assemble peacefully . But today we speak up for the rights of all US citizens. Victimhood is what the LEFTISTS endorse, but African-Americans who see through that ruse, reject victimhood and want to make their own mark, legally and morally. Good for them and God bless everyone who takes that stance.

Well, thanks for the link. It won’t do any good for the people I know. Trump is so intensely hated, that many people literally think I am fascist for just saying the Feds have a right to protect a Fed building. Even a long time friend of twenty years stated I sounded like a Neo Nazi because I said, since western civilization is more advanced with civil rights and all, that’s why so many immigrants want to come here. How horrible of me.
As soon as Trump got elected, if you said something wonderful about the U.S., or agreed with something he did it meant you were a fascist like the Donald.
Trump needs to keep his mouth shut. He is burying himself with the stupid birther thing again.

Best example I can think of is the Pussy-grabber’s suggestion that people inject themselves with disinfectant, and/or drink bleach. This bit of homespun epidemiological expertise allegedly resulted in numerous deaths. But no, it was a joke! Who else would make a joke about dangerous self-medication during a pandemic? One which might kill people? Who but a half-wit.
This went round the world, confirming the near universal view, shared by many Americans, that American voters had made an appalling mistake, (soon to be rectified). The man is a narcissistic loon, displaying his ignorance and stupidity daily, for all to see.

Those who ‘love’ him are blind as bats – he is the worst human that ever managed to persuade any group that he was a leader….his reputation was cast in stone long before he ever trotted down that elevator in his skyscraper….he WAS a liar, cheat, moron, disgusting POS way back in 1979 when i first arrived in NYC and wondered who the swaggering fool was…how comes i noticed him right away ? Well the simple answer is I grew up in London with plenty of such scheming types around….we knew from small children who the cheats were…that type has not changed since post WW2 days then…..always the slick behavior, the big smile while cheating you out of your hard-earned wages. How I loathe such people, while those with sweet hearts, the salt of the earth are quiet, humble, always caring for how you feel, never boasting etc……….no comparison ! Americans can be so-o-o-o easily fooled…always it’s the blond hair (male or female), blue eyes, and the behavior of the devil himself ! So many will be asking themselves ‘why did I believe him?’ when this is all over & he finally gets his ‘just reward’.

One thing I do know is that those who criticise Trump always think they have a God-given right judge others, a moral superiority and self justification they think other less able, weaker, more fallible mortals do not possess, or if they do, they must obviously come to the same conclusion. The possibility of being wrong simply does not exist for these people, a different perspective—ridiculous? All must agree with the left wing sages.
Yes, Trump is not the perfect president, he makes mistakes, he’s said some truly awful things in the past BUT he is trying to restore America’s standing in the World, both economically and politically, and he is doing it.
If you think that is bad, imagine a world where China reigns supreme and where terrorists go unpunished or worse get invited to the White House. After Obama—a great orator but a weak president who was supposedly a Christian and yet left many Christians and other American citizens languishing in foreign jails, rarely speaking out on issues of justice and even backing Jihadi insurgents in Syria. We now have Trump, not a skilled orator but a man who gets things done and is hated by the media for doing so.
Me, I’d sooner back a trier and a doer than a talker any day. That he is prepared to be bold on the international stage recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, prepared to engage North Korea, prepared to call out terrorism when the world’s media can’t even bring themselves to defend western liberal values in the face of a concerted Islamic campaign against those values.
He’s rich enough so he won’t be bought by any foreign despot and he’s patriotic enough so he will ultimately see America right, he’s also not afraid to humble himself before God and seek wisdom and prayer for his actions, and also stand true for the Christian faith, expressing that faith that many like me welcome hearing boldly spoken once again at our Christmas and Easter celebrations. And like the Christian faith proclaims, God can challenge and change everyone, from the least of us to the greatest so why not Mr Trump? But no, the left would like us to believe no one changes, we are all victims and past mistakes, past sins, must continually and forever be highlighted and punished or,…..perhaps is it more simply than that they envy his wealth
No, President Trump is far from the perfect president, but I thank God he is the current US president, with him the American people have a chance to regain what they have lost— One nation living liberty under God.
Ben Kennedy says
When I read what you wrote, “the man is a narcissistic loon, displaying his ignorance and stupidity daily…” I was compelled to think of your remark as some sort of autobiography. With only your opinion to give credence to your “President Trump” assessment, I am obliged to reject it outright. I’ve never liked fiction. Too many people seem to love it as you can tell by looking at the world created by the communist around you. It amazes me that the world has advanced this far in the pursuit of the Marxist Manifesto, when even Karl could have read about the 1607 AD Jamestown experiment on the James River. Five Hundred years later the Communist are still trying to make the system work, and the results of their work bring death and misery, relentlessly, to staggering numbers of people all over the world.
Rod says
Did your parents never tell you that you cannot, should not trust a liar? Did your life experience never alert you to the fact that braggarts are immature and untrustworthy? Don’t you ever wonder at the mentality of a man whose inevitable response to criticism is personal, infantile abuse of his critics?
A stable genius, bankrupted at least three times. A revered leader of his people, one who paid prostitutes for silence, and boasted openly of sexual assault.
Haven’t you wondered why the US response to Covid is so horribly worse than that in most western countries? (160,000+ dead). Yes, our leaders made mistakes too, some inexcusable, but they quickly heeded expert advice on what HAD to be done. Not Trump.
Once, with FDR, Eisenhower, Kennedy, you defeated Nazism and put men on the moon. Now? Your health workers had to wait on a massive shipment of PPE from China which arrived too late for many. The very stable genius working his magic.
Death and misery indeed, a tragedy unfolding which we have to watch, horrified but helpless. Communists? You can’t be serious. Back to the 1950s?

When i hear those who spout off about how badly the Covid pandemic has been handled, I wish someone would ask what action they would have taken that would have assured success against it. Greed for power drives all the hype presented to the public to generate the hatred for Trump. And like lemmings there are those who will drop over the edge and kill a great nation.

In true democracies, those who advocate change or reform are permitted to criticise the people and policies they dislike. In non-democratic regimes, those who criticise the system are jailed or deported. Or worse.
In Trumpistan, those who criticise the leader are ridiculed and abused. (Watch any Trump performance). And, it seems, they can be told to leave, and threatened by “friends in law enforcement”. Such are the followers of Jihadwatch.

As usual, the truth lies somewhere in between the extremes suggested by the pro/con of the last two contributors, Rod and Graven.
Graven, obviously RS can write about anything he wants. I have not meant to suggest otherwise, but his expertise is Islam. That’s why I follow him – to get educated on such matters. When he writes about general sociopolitical issues in the USA, his knowledge of Islam greatly influences his point of view. Is that debatable? In my opinion, RS writes admirably about the pussy-grabber-in-chief chiefly (if not solely) because of the latter’s policies towards Muslim majority countries and Trump’s frank, if not bombastic, discussion of jihad malevolence. I think that RS is myopic. (p.s. Look up jingoist in the dictionary.)
Rod, on the hand, seems to denigrate the scholarship of RS on matters dealing with Islam as well as the opinions of all other contributors here on that subject. I agree with him on his criticism of Trump, but I think he tends to throw out the baby with the bath water, that is, many opinions expressed here by RS and others are not “mindless” and “ill-informed” insofar as they relate to the principle topic of this blog. The Jihad threat is the greatest of our time–this would be rather like castigating Churchill for focusing on the threat of Fascism when he was first Prime Minister.
But the idea that Spencer has, in his long career, never dealt with any topic save the threat of Jihad is of course incorrect. He has often written here about the basis of civilized Western values and why it is important for us to defend them, as well as more widely about culture and religion. The idea that he is some sort of one-trick pony is quite false.
Of course, neither David Darman nor anyone else need agree with him that Western civilization is worth defending.

Actually, Spencer has at times been quite critical of Trump, and for good reason–as when Trump suggested that free speech should be crushed at the Muhammad Cartoon Art Contest. I don’t actually know where he rates Trump in his book, and unless he has received an advance copy, neither does David Darman.
And David Darman’s idea that I do not know the meaning of “jingoist” is absurd.
He wrote, in his post of Aug 14, 2020 at 3:38 pm:
“His antagonistic jingoism dovetails with his demagogic pandering to the peoples’ fear of Islamic jihadists.”

“So being opposed to Jihad terrorism is “Jingoism”? How does this work? Is it some sort of sign of cosmopolitan sophistication to want Muslims to rape and murder us? I suppose so…”
Indeed, I don’t believe that opposing Islamic Jihad is Jingoism, despite what David Darman claims.
Here is the definition of “Jingoism”, from the Oxford English Dictionary:
“extreme patriotism, especially in the form of aggressive or warlike foreign policy.”
I don’t believe that acting to keep out Jihad terrorists is warlike.

OK David, maybe the old refrain

But it does demonstrate an abysmal ignorance of how democracy, freedom and tolerance are meant to operate in a civilised modern society, where the free exchange of ideas leads to progress and advancement.
So if we can’t call it mindless or ill-informed, how are we to define it? I’d suggest “pig-ignorant”.
Other similar examples can readily be quoted from your fellow contributors if required.

Meanwhile, Trump has appointed over 300 conservative judges who will interpret the law and not legislate from the bench. He has increased the American military. He has moved the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. He has greatly improved medical care to veterans. He has insured that NATO members will pay more than they have been paying, which has not been much. He has re-negotiated NAFTA by way of the USMCA. He has decimated ISIS and has had Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi killed as well as Qasem Soleimani. He has instituted tax cuts which have helped average Americans like myself. He has also gotten rid of many onerous regulations which have hindered business. He is the only leader in the world to take on the deceitful Chinese about tariffs. He has more effectively dealt with North Korea than his predecessors. He pulled out of the worst deal ever made by an American President, the Iran nuclear deal made with Iran by Obama.
How’s this as a sampling? Maybe next time you can give reasons why you oppose Trump rather than just an ad nauseam personal dislike of the man.

I disagree that many countries have handled Covid better than the USA. Just because the MSM, which hates Trump, has said so doesn’t make it true. Just look at the unnecessary hysteria by the MSM over hydroxychloroquine, which because Trump endorsed it, as have many doctors, the MSM opposes it. Don’t forget that Trump stopped flights from China on January 31st, long before other nations did—indeed at the time he was called a racist for doing so but it most certainly saved many lives.

Admittedly I have not read RS’s latest book, however I suggest it seems to be premature. (At what point into Trump’s term was it written?) However, it would not be surprising that a prolific scholar on Islam like RS would give dominant importance to issues relating to a President’s handling of all matters Islam. That would be especially true if so much ignorance and contrariness on the subject were constantly disseminated by the MSM as it, in fact, is. RS is constantly confronted by mind bending ignorance about the subject on which he is expert. That must be terribly frustrating. I commiserate.
Nevertheless, in a time of crisis, as exists today, it is critical for the nation’s leader to bring cohesiveness to the forefront. The narcissistic Trump has done anything but. His antagonistic jingoism dovetails with his demagogic pandering to the peoples’ fear of Islamic jihadists. While I share Trump’s and RS’s antipathy towards Islamic ideology and jihad, there are other issues that measure the success of Presidential performance. I hope Trump can rise to the occasion, but I remain skeptical.
Trump’s conduct has sowed dissension and general malaise over and above what might otherwise exist given the pandemic. His preoccupation with the level of the stock market provides an insight into his priorities, namely the well being of those fortunate to have significant wealth and stock ownership. It was his initial vain attempt to poopoo the virus in order to prop up the market that had the horrific effect on the spread of the virus in this country. As a result, we suffered much more than we would have had there been intelligent, science based leadership.
As for his conduct on the international level I recommend this insightful analysis by the much respected and experienced Richard Haass. It’s not a pretty picture. See:

Then, Robert Spencer’s interests and areas of expertise are actually quite far ranging.

That “Rod” considers this of no interest shows that his stand is indeed with Jihad terror and the crushing of our freedoms by brutal Shari’ah law. Does he consider these horrors to be “human achievement”?
