Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, and Erdogan is a loyal supporter of it. They share a common Islamic supremacist mission “to restore the era of Islamic rule, seen by the Brotherhood as the basis for protecting ‘the Islamic nation.'”
They also both share a hostility toward Israel, along with any other nation who supports Israel.
Meanwhile, although Turkey is Sunni, it has been cozying up to Shia Iran, as well as to Russia, in order “to protect its interests.”
Turkey’s Erdogan Hosts Hamas Delegation with Wanted Terrorist,” by Deborah Danan, Breitbart, August 25, 2020:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted a large delegation of Hamas leaders, including a wanted terrorist, in Istanbul over the weekend.
The delegation included Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri, a wanted terrorist with a $5 million bounty on his head.
Al-Arouri has been linked to several terrorist attacks against Israelis, including the 2014 kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank, which he praised as a “heroic operation.”
The meeting also included Hamas’ overseas leader Maher Salah, Hamas head of Arab and Islamic religions, Ezzat al-Rihiq, and Hamas representative in Turkey, Jihad Yaghmor.
The delegation met with the Turkish prime minister to discuss the U.S.-brokered normalization agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, which both sides deeply oppose.
Hamas and Turkey’s ruling party have roots in the Muslim Brotherhood. Erdogan in the past has panned the U.S. for “working with terrorists” in Syria, over U.S. support for Kurdish fighters combating ISIS.
Hamas head Ismael Haniyeh “congratulated Erdogan on the advent of a new Hijri year, discovery of a new natural-gas field and the reopening of the Aya Sofia Mosque,” according to a statement released by the terror group.
The Aya Sofia Mosque was one of two ancient churches that Turkey turned into mosques recently, causing a storm of controversy.
Hamas also said it was working against Israel’s “Judaization of Jerusalem.”…

I don’t really know. I am wondering as well: why is Erdogan still the president of Turkey? He just has an incredible desire of power instead of a brain in his head: everything he say or do is nonsense and he is still getting away with it.

Erdogan has been in power in Turkey, as President or Prime Minister, since 2003. I don’t think he’s leaving any time soon…

Arabs and Muslims to Turkey’s Erdogan: “Why Don’t You Protest Against Yourself?”
“Erdogan’s Turkey has been normalizing its relations with Israel since the establishment of Israel.” — Rawaf al-Soain, Saudi writer, Twitter, August 14, 2020.
“Erdogan is trading in the Palestinian cause. Turkey has had relations with Israel for more than 70 years, but it has done nothing good for the Palestinians all these years.” — Abdullah al-Bander, Saudi political activist, Twitter, August 18, 2020.
“The statement was actually issued by Erdogan, the official sponsor of terrorist groups in the region. He uses these groups to destabilize the Arab countries, including Syria, Iraq, Libya, and Egypt…. Only the terrorist groups see him as the Emir of the Faithful and Caliph of Muslims… Where is his support for the Palestinian cause when he directs all his support to Hamas and ignores the Palestinian Authority? He hosts wanted terrorists in Ankara and allows them to establish radio and television stations to preach the Muslim Brotherhood ideology.” — Adel al-Sanhoury, Egyptian columnist, youm7.com, August 21, 2020.”

The US State Department still panders to Turkey. They are IDIOTS!
They just sent A Number One ass-kisser, James Jeffrey, to Ankara to off-load our commitments to his favorite proxy, Erdogan. Unbelievable. Now we have the State Department working against the Pentagon by backing Turkish-backed militias which are fighting pro-Western groups like the Kurds which are backed by our own Defense Department. The result is chaos, which E is skillfully exploiting. Meanwhile, Trump spoke to E on the phone and urged restraint. Right!
