No one would have dreamed of questioning whether Ahmedelhadi Yassin Serageldin should really have the security clearance that allowed him access to these documents in the first place. That would have been “Islamophobic.”

BOSTON (AP) — A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for keeping work-related classified national defense documents at his home without proper authorization, federal prosecutors say.
Ahmedelhadi Yassin Serageldin, 67, an Egyptian-born U.S. citizen, was also sentenced Wednesday to one year of probation and was fined $10,000, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Boston. He had pleaded guilty in December.
The Sharon man retained 31,000 pages of information that was marked as classified, some of which pertained to U.S. missile defense and was classified “secret”, and altered or obliterated the classification markings on documents, according to prosecutors.
Serageldin was a systems engineer at Raytheon from August 1997 until he was fired in May 2017. He had security clearance in order to complete assignments on several defense contracts involving radar technology, prosecutors said….
