At St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, Tnuza Jamal Hassan called upon Muslim students to “join the jihad in fighting” and to “join Al Qaeda, Taliban, or Al Shabaab.” She set a series of fires around the campus, and said she wanted to “hurt people.”
In response, students at St. Catherine University said: “St. Kate’s is one of the most inclusive, diverse welcoming schools you can think of.” And: “This was very surprising and we have a very diverse school that welcomes everyone.”
These students seemed to assume that jihad terror attacks happen because Muslims find themselves in environments that are not “welcoming” and “diverse.” Thus the onus is all on the Infidels, and it is their responsibility to stop jihad terror attacks from occurring. If they happen anyway, it is because they were not “welcoming” and “diverse” enough. The idea that Muslims might stage jihad massacres for reasons of their own, stemming from Islamic texts and teachings — why, even to entertain that as a possibility would be “Islamophobic.” On campuses today, everything is the fault of the West. Those who think otherwise are racist, bigoted “Islamophobes.”
“Woman admits trying to join al-Qaida, setting fires at St. Catherine University in St. Paul,” by Stephen Montemayor, Star Tribune, August 27, 2020:
A 22-year-old Minneapolis woman who failed in her bid to join al-Qaida and subsequently tried to set a series of fires at St. Catherine University in St. Paul in 2018 pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal terrorism charges.
Tnuza Jamal Hassan admitted to one count of attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization at her former school’s campus.
Hassan also faces arson charges in Ramsey County in connection with trying to set fires in six buildings on the campus. Hassan admitted setting the fires months after she tried to fly to Afghanistan to join al-Qaida.
According to Hassan’s plea agreement, when she was a freshman at St. Kate’s she drafted an anonymous recruitment letter that encouraged others to join the terrorist group and delivered it to two other Muslim students at the university.
In September 2017, she bought a round-trip ticket without her family’s knowledge from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to Dubai and another ticket from Dubai to Kabul, Afghanistan. She said Wednesday that she had no plans to return to the United States but instead wanted to join al-Qaida in Afghanistan. However, she was stopped from continuing on to Afghanistan because she was not aware that she needed a visa to enter that country.
Hassan lied to investigators from Customs and Border Protection and the FBI about writing the recruitment letter, but she did tell agents that joining al-Qaida was the purpose of her attempted trip to Afghanistan. As part of her plea agreement, Hassan acknowledged Wednesday that while she did not plan to be a fighter for the terrorist group, she wanted to lend her support “by other means.”
HassanHassan again left her family’s home on Jan. 8, 2018, without their knowledge, and moved into a St. Catherine University dorm lounge without the school’s permission. She stayed there until Jan. 17, when she tried to set fires in six buildings at the school. In her plea agreement, Hassan said she set the fires “as a retaliatory act against the United States for its opposition to [al-Qaida] in Afghanistan.”…

Read ” 12 STRONG” the author explains how the US troops were welcomed by the Afghan people. The Afghans were fighting the Taliban, for their freedom.
The Taliban were from several different countries and invading Afghanistan. The people wanted their freedom from everyone, especially the murderous Taliban.
I hope the Afghan people remember the bloody fight. The fight for freedom never ends.
Rhys says
You expect Afghanis to be grateful? As we pull out, those who allied with us and helped us are being slaughtered. They cannot understand us. We never committed the forces required to win. I’m going to share a POV here that was quickly forgotten regarding the Afghanistan war.
What was our objective? What should our objective have been? To me it was clear. The utter destruction of the Taliban, to a man. For several reasons. First, as retribution for lending support and funding to to Bin Laden. Allowing him refuge after we chased him out of the Sudan. Second, to send a clear message to Jihadis around the world about our capabilities and resolve.
Demonstrating our capabilities was the easy part. The first lesson to the Taliban came in early 2002, Jan or Feb. 12 of our Green Berets – with comms support and cover from a single F-18 faced off against a formation of 2500 Taliban who came at them in a valley. The F-18 refueled and reloaded a couple of times. The Green Berets had some heavy weapons and were well dug in. They had mortars and lots of ammo. But still, it wasn’t them. It was the brutality of our air superiority. We simply blew the shit out of them. No fatalities for the Americans. More than 2000 dead Taliban…
But what we never had was the required resolve to put the force required on the ground to accomplish the job. I remember several generals early on talking about how it would take about 500k men to take, hold and clear the required territory to deny the Taliban safe haven and wipe them out. We never put half that many troops on the ground While we won many battles and fights, and killed many, many Jihadis, they would always simply move to where our troops weren’t. That’s why you always hear about standing up 200k+ Afghani cops and soldiers. So the mythology could be perpetuated that we had some kind of plan. But we didn’t.
So we fell into the “COINS” trap, so beloved by our 20th century generals. But this was always a never ending fight. COINS is inherently nation-building. We cannot do that in Afghanistan as it’s not a nation and the people aren’t oriented towards the kind of civil society Westerners presume is extant everywhere.
So instead, we put the Afghan people through 20 years of hell, on top of the predations of the Taliban. Expecting gratitude would be a bit much I think.
I do think we should go cuz we have no plan to act decisively to achieve a meaningful objective. We waste blood and treasure there to no good end, and we can spend that money much more wisely, and save those lives.

The idea that ousting the Taliban can be characterized as “20 years of hell” is *very* strange.
Seeking Deliverance says
Rhys, what are you talking about? Originally, the Afghani “objective” was to wipe out Al Qaeda and Al Qaeda only (for having “perpetrated” the Twin Towers). Now, we all know the true story of who had the Twin Towers destroyed. If you don’t know who I’m talking about… research who took out an insurance policy on the twin tower buildings just a week or two prior to their being destroyed. Furthermore, there isn’t a credible structural engineer on Earth who can prove an aircraft collision will “melt:” the structural beams within a high rise and thereby destroy/collapse the entire high rise building itself. Something is fishy with 9/11 and we all all should know that. As I said, go research who took out an insurance policy on the Twin Towers shortly before they’re being destroyed and then you’ll find who is responsible for 9/11… and it isn’t Al Qaeda.
Wellington says
Seeking Deliverance: Why not just tell us who took out the insurance policy and with proof please? Why play games? Generally speaking, when someone such as yourself says, hey, look up who did this, that or something else, it’s a sign of a loony conspiracy theorist.
Second, the March 2005 Popular Mechanics issue, which was turned into a book in 2006, debunked conspiracy theories like yours and showed how all the damage to the twin towers and ancillary buildings on that terrible day in American history in NYC was due to American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 striking the twin towers. Barbaric al-Qaeda was responsible for 9/11.
curious says
@Seeking Deliverance, it isn’t necessary to “melt” structural beams to bring down a building. The WTC fires weakened floor trusses, causing them to sag and pull away from the vertical columns, where connections were also weakened by fire and failed. This was the conclusion of credible structural engineers including at MIT and elsewhere.
If you had ever tried to bend metal, you would know that hot metal bends more easily than cold metal. That is why blacksmiths use heat.
When metal bends too far, it can no longer support the same amount of weight. That is what happened to WTC: structural steel heated, bent, and gave way. Once the upper floors developed downward momentum, nothing could stop them.

It looks as though Seeking Deliverance is another vicious “Truther” claiming that 9/11 was done by–who? The Jews, or Larry Silverstein, or George Bush, or the CIA–to make Islam look bad. I suppose all those 37,000+ Jihad terror attacks are all the fault of Mossad, or the Illuminati, or the alien lizards, or what have you, as well?
And as Wellington notes, the idea that the Twin Towers could not have been destroyed and that 9/11 was–somehow–all faked, or was blown up by bombs on the ground, has indeed been soundly debunked by engineers.

Alas, all too many Mohammedans approve of the Taliban–after all, they practice what Islam teaches.

+1 This was and remains the biggest problem in Afghanistan.
If Afghanistan had remained Buddhist, or at least mostly so, then it would not have these problems. Alas, during the Muslim conquest across Asia, the ancestors of the current Afghans were killed or forced to convert to Islam. Thus, the problem.
Having said that, the W administration compounded the problem in two ways. First, diverting military resources away from Afghanistan and into Iraq, because W wanted to take out Saddam Hussein. Second, saddling Afghanistan and Iraq with constitutions that make Islam a source of law, including in Afghanistan the death penalty for apostasy. In 2001, most Afghans were fed up with the Taliban and many supported the USA, but W managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

No doubt that ignorance of Islam on the part of allied authorities did not help, curious. I don’t think that anyone could have turned a barbaric hellhole that is almost 100% Muslim into any kind of civilized polity, though, whatever their policies.

Islamic texts and internet groups promote fear and terrorism around the world, as they kill Christians and non-muslims. It is wise to be Islamophobic, and Marxist BLM phobic, as they continue their profane and insane attacks. It is wise to question actions and words of people today, since many have lost the grace of civil behavior.

al-Qaida didn’t want her?! What a loser. Must be that loser religion she follows that compels her to despicable jihad.
CogitoErgoSum says
Well, she did say she didn’t want to be a fighter but instead wanted to provide support by other means. Al-Qaeda decided they had plenty of goats, donkeys, sheep and other animals that met all their other needs for the time being so she was told to go back to college … and burn the place down. But, I’m wondering how someone who did not know a visa was necessary to enter Afghanistan ever made it into college. Must have been that glowing letter of recommendation from the Taliban that impressed the college administrators.
Wellington says
I’m sick of Islam but I’m also sick of the diversity crap which is pushed ad nauseam on American college campuses (and in the high schools and grade schools too—even in kindergarten and pre-school).
This emphasis on diversity in the American educational system is actually an iniquitous phenomenon posing as something benevolent and sapient. It is not. The entirety diversity farce only divides people from one another and is yet another ill consequence of those twin idiocies, political correctness and multiculturalism, which dual idiocies are only found in the West. No pc/mc in the Islamic world, in China, in sub-Saharan Africa—nowhere but in a West that is right now committing a slow but inexorable mass suicide.
The greatest civilization in history, Western Civilization, has now, for the first time in its history, gone into stupid mode. The Late Ancient World and Early Middle Ages were arguably dark periods in the history of the West (though far more productive than often realized), but I’m not talking here about dark periods in Western history; no I am not. I am referencing a new age in Western history, to wit, the West’s first stupid age.
The emphasis on diversity is an indication of this. Welcoming Muslims into the West is another. And believing that Black Lives Matter (BLM) is a positive organization is evidence of yet another egregious error in the aggregate thinking of the present West.

“Mass suicide” – and by their own allowance!
Diversity destroyed the Roman Empire and is busily destroying Merkel’s Germany(she recently said she would do it all again – 1/4 of German residents under 18 are immigrants), France, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, etc. These lands of low native birthrate will be minorities within a generation or two.
No empire, without an origin story and a majority culture is likely to survive.
I’m thinking that China, which needs more land, will eventually move into Africa as Africa depopulates into Europe. I also suspect that China will find resources in Africa and find ways to improve its industry and agriculture – improvements that would have made Africa prosperous if Africans had abandoned Islam and pursued education and industry.

This is the myth of Islam, living big at American schools while the muslims plan to execute the very people who welcomed them to their country, schools, and lives.
Time to grow up people, that utopia you have been hearing about only exists in a world without Islam and Marxism. As long as those exist there will be people like Hitler, Mao, Lenin, Castro, and Tnuza Jamal Hassan, murderers all.
