“’Abdullah El Faisal has spent two decades inspiring the terrorists behind plots and attacks in London, New York, and onboard airplanes in flight,’ said NYPD Police Commissioner Dermot Shea in a statement….Faisal was previously convicted of similar charges in England for inciting murder and using inflammatory language ‘in furtherance of terrorist ideologies.'”
Why was he allowed into the United States after being convicted of jihad terror charges in Britain? Would keeping him out have been “Islamophobic”?
“Radical cleric held without bail in Manhattan for ‘trying to recruit NYPD cop,’” by Rebecca Rosenberg, New York Post, August 14, 2020:
A radical Islamic cleric was ordered held without bail in Manhattan on Friday — after encouraging a female undercover NYPD cop to carry out terror attacks, authorities said.
Shaikh Abdullah Faisal, 56, pleaded not guilty to five counts — including conspiracy as a crime of terrorism, soliciting or providing support for an act of terrorism and other raps….
The militant cleric — born Trevor William Forrest — allegedly communicated with a female undercover NYPD officer by e-mail, text and video chat to encourage her to join ISIS and carry out attacks abroad from 2015 to 2017….
A popular online figure, Faisal has overtly supported ISIS and the establishment of an Islamic caliphate through violent jihad.
In one of his online lectures, he declared, “The way forward is not the ballot. The way forward is the bullet,” according to the indictment….
“Abdullah El Faisal has spent two decades inspiring the terrorists behind plots and attacks in London, New York, and onboard airplanes in flight,” said NYPD Police Commissioner Dermot Shea in a statement….
Faisal was previously convicted of similar charges in England for inciting murder and using inflammatory language “in furtherance of terrorist ideologies,” according to prosecutors….

I can’t understand…(WELL I REPLY DO !)….why CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, and all organizations and groups, who are tied go them, have not been declared terrorist organizations by our government. Are they even under investigation? I sure hope so but doubt it due to the leftists DEMOCRATS who seem to be dictating how our government should work, especially when it comes to terrorism.
I know that the Covd 19 problem is on the front burner along with Rioting etc. but that just leaves terrorism wide open for their entry into it nation.

As long as you keep going on & on & on about ‘Leftist Democrats’ in this argument about Islamic extremists, you are deliberately alienating a lot of people who really do try to get things right on this subject. The point of this discussion SHOULD be about whether Islam is what it claims to be or is it the dangerous movement that some of us think it is, not whether you favor Socialist political concepts or ‘get as greedy as you want’ top-dog politics – it’s an entirely separate discussion !!! I know Spencer gets this wrong too, he is a RW’er and I keep making this point, but I’m out there trying to tell those “terrible Lefties”, those he hates, that they could be very wrong on this particular subject if they take the view opposite to yours….none of you have enough sense to figure out what your actual arguments should be on this subject, rather getting your knickers in a twist over political ideology, some of which is right & some wrong ! It would be nice to have a real discussion over the actual subject in hand in spite of social policy differences, but you are losing your own arguments because of your political slant – silly !
gravenimage says
Actually, noting that that there are dhimmis in the West who whitewash Islam is not amiss here at all–far from “getting this wrong”, this is actually quite important.
And while you do find this appeasement on all sides of the aisle, it is far more prevalent on the left. And I say this as a Liberal. Being told we have to ignore this is actually not particularly helpful.

Fine reply to vcgrgain, gravenimage, who fails to understand that almost all opposition to what Islam intends for us all comes from the Right. And Robert Spencer himself, when shouted down when he has tried to speak at different venues, has encountered such uncivilized behavior only from Leftists (or Muslims). Vrcagain needs to wake up (he won’t).

Ah: “terrorist ideologies” (plural). Commissioner Shea did not identify these.
Might one or two of them be identical with basic Islam?

NYC: Muslim cleric encourages NYPD cop to join ISIS, carry out jihad massacres
……………
Why was this Jihadi cleric in the US at all, if convicted on terror charges in Britain? Lots of disturbing questions here.
curious says
@gravenimage, this article links only to a Murdoch tabloid, but other sites do answer that question:
“A radical Islamic cleric has been extradited to New York City on charges he recruited followers and fighters for the Islamic State through fiery online lectures and militant propaganda, prosecutors said Friday.
Abdullah al-Faisal, who had been behind bars in Jamaica, pleaded not guilty in Manhattan state court to charges including conspiracy and supporting terrorism.”
https://abc7ny.com/abdullah-al-faisal-isis-radical-islamic-cleric-terrorism/6371285/
Although I appreciate JW, I think credibility suffers when a whole article depends on a tabloid or worse, so I don’t form any opinion without checking elsewhere.

As you note, curious, there are other sources for this story than just the New York Post. They did not, in fact, make this up. This story was also reported in the Washington Post, on NBC News, on Fox News, in the Star Tribune, on France24, in the Wall Street Journal, and in the New York Times.
I have to admit I don’t see how linking to a true story harms Jihad Watch’s credibility.

Reply to Wellington: ‘Jihad’ means establishing Islamic supremacism by all means fair or foul. Most Muslims support jihad through lying and denials as well as with money given to ‘zakat’.
1% of jihad is violent. Most of jihad is lies.

A HATE PREACHER MOST WESTERN PEOPLE DON’T KNOW … BUT THEY SHOULD.
Mullah El-Faisal preaches AL WALAA WAL BARAA … the compulsory Islamic doctrine of hate directed against us.
Abdullah el-Faisal (born Trevor William Forrest, also known as Abdullah al-Faisal, Sheikh Faisal, Sheik Faisal, and Imam Al-Jamaikee, born 10 September 1963) is a radical Muslim cleric who preached in the United Kingdom until he was convicted of stirring up racial hatred and urging his followers to murder Jews, Hindus, Christians, and Americans.
El-Faisal was sentenced to nine years in prison, of which he served four years before being deported to Jamaica in 2007. He subsequently traveled to Africa, but was deported from Botswana in 2009 and from Kenya back to Jamaica in January 2010.
El-Faisal was born in Saint James Parish to an evangelical Christian family which belonged to the Salvation Army church, a Christian denomination. He grew up in the small farming village of Point, about 14 miles from the city of Montego Bay, in upper St. James, Jamaica. He attended Springfield All-Age, then Maldon Primary and Junior High. At age 16, he converted to Islam, after being introduced to the religion by a teacher at Maldon High School.
In tapes of lectures he had given, he exhorted Muslim women to buy toy guns for their children, to train them for jihad. El-Faisal tried to recruit British schoolboys for Jihad training camps, promising them “seventy-two virgins in paradise” if they died fighting a holy war. El-Faisal said “Those who want to go to Jannah [paradise], it’s easy, just kill a Kaffar [unbeliever] … by killing that Kaffar you have purchased your ticket to paradise.” He suggested killing non-Muslims like “cockroaches.”

Thank you for the summary Mortimer, but shouldn’t Faisal will be referred to as fundamentalist rather than radical? What is radical about following the example of Mohammad.

kudos to NYPD. Every now and then we hear about someone doing something right, and I love the fact that a woman brought him down to his special culturally appropriate humiliation. I hope there are lots of other instances of someone doing something right that we never hear about, If they underestimate us so much the better. He should walk into the deepest solitary cell they’ve got and get carried out.
